I'm running two 6950's and they destroy the integrated graphics for gaming, but for other application such as video encoding my graphics cards are slower. Probably because encoding is more CPU intensive than GPU. So there's some use to integrated graphics.

actually on some games a lot more powerfull cpu/ram/ssd than game requires can compensate the need of graphics card.

Intel just sucks at this, not only frame rates are ultra low, details ultra low, there is massive amount of problems and glitches in drivers...

Why gaming is given more importance relating to graphics, because graphics is not only about gaming . There are much more applications that are related to graphics !
