  • 0:36 Turkish Taffy looks good.

  • I wanted to punch that Zima guy and make him cry.

  • Zima seems like the alcoholic equivalent of Crystal Pepsi.

  • 0:47 "wicked."

  • 90's; "Buying entertainment." 00's; "What is this buy music?"

  • The Ending Voiceover For The Classic Commercials VHS Offer Was Ted Alexander.

  • 5:00- Dinosaur World ! = )

  • 5:00 - :32 I'll pass.

  • How ironic were watching classic 90's commercials with a commercial about 50's commercials ^_^ i hope we can get that one day...on DVD or download lol

  • @kikyouthekillermiko Most of the ads shown there are staples of public domain compilations...I'd suspect you might be able to find several of them on archive.org.

  • Yes! OMG I ROFL with the first one!... thanks man for bringing these for free, finally I can recognize the internet is something new which actually makes our lives easier and more entertaining.

  • mazda, "it just feels right, brian, it just feels right."

  • Those Zima ads are a bit confusing. We're not going to tell you what it's made of or what it's like, just that it's new and a man in a white suit says you should ingest it till intoxicated. That may work for pill commercials, but is probably a good reason why I've never seen anybody order a Zima.

  • Who is that guy in the Zima spot at 7:11? I know him from something but cant quite place it.

  • Holy shit! AT&T predicted things that came true! NetFlix and the iPhone!!!!!

  • Sweet Jesus I miss the 90s

  • Damn...that AT&T Commercial really got the flat screen almost perfect. It's even in widescreen. Too bad AT&T only does phones now haha.

  • @moomba445 The 16:9 widescreen ratio was adopted as the standard for HDTV in 1983.

  • @80sCommercialVault I knew they had HD Camera technology...I just never knew they were developing an HDTV flat-touch screen in the early 90s. It's amazing how the concept was there in front of us, and nobody knew it.

  • @moomba445 HD televisions (And I assume, cameras) were first developed in Japan in the late 60's, though at that point the technology wasn't standardized and used a different ratio.

Much of the consumer technology that we consider "modern" or "high-tech" has been around for decades, it just takes a very long time for a lot of this technology to be produced by manufacturers and adopted by the general public.

  • @80sCommercialVault

"Classic Commercials Video Cassette", haha, perfect!

  • Haha the 50s commercial ad was ironic eh?

  • i luv the old mentos jingle! it makes me smile everytime i hear it. :)

  • 99-cent Whoppers ... now THAT'S a good deal. Until recently, the BK next to my house was bragging about selling 2 Whoppers for $3.

  • I have those 50's and 60's Commercials! I love that video :D

  • First commercial... breaking the fourth wall?

  • @#12 Clifford... loved that movie! And didn't remember Penn doing so much VO work... thanks a ton for these videos!

  • lol i love mystery science theater 3000

  • I want classic 90s commercials on vhs lol

  • Too bad the networks didn't put as much thought into preserving television series of that era back then.

Classic commercial videotapes: what retro commercial fans had to get their classic ad fix before YouTube.

  • That mentos commercial was played a LOT in the 90's!!

  • they're corny... something that would never be said on commercials today

  • 0:00- 1:01,

A nostalgia-geared commercial collection commercialized on a nostalgia-geared commercial collection? Too... much... meta-derp... *head explodes into candy*

  • Video call from a pay phone hahaha. Not many of those around in 2010

  • @brian461oia But the video on demand *is* here. Although it is now provided by at&t instead of AT&T. I don't think anyone saw that coming.

  • @ThePeterAaron Guess I should have wrote a better comment. I know we have video calling and on demand etc. What I was trying to say is regular pay phones are now few and far between. There is really no chance of a payphone with video calling at this point. Not when in a few year every cell phone on the market will be capable of video calling. The ads show you how the advancement of cell phones and internet changed everything.

  • @brian461oia

Card payphones though, are way more common in Europe than USA.

  • lol at at&t

  • I actually saw "Jimmy Hollywood" at a (nearly empty) theater. From the ads, I thought it looked pretty good. It wasn't. Not at all. I don't remember much about it, but don't think there's any need to revisit it.

I rarely drank in high school (I was 17 in '94), but even if I did more often, those God-awful Zima ads would have ensured that I would have stuck to beer. I might have drank one in college, though.

  • i love honda motorcycles their pretty cool

  • Zima tasted like Smirnoff. I tried it at age 10!

  • Zima was the worst idea in beer History!!

  • @spcmn77 The drug commercials you see with all of the "weird and insane warnings" aren't for over the counter stuff. Those are advertising prescription drugs.

BTW...the only drugs allowed to be advertised on TV back then were over the counter and relatively harmless. The FDA began allowing DTC (Direct-to-consumer) prescription drug advertising in 1997.

  • @80sCommercialVault A terrible, terrible idea...I'll let my doctor tell me what he thinks I should be taking, not the other way around, thank you very much. Though I have liked some of the ads. I look forward to seeing the Prestiq depressed wind-up doll in a volume of "'00's Commercials" in about 20 years.

  • I must have watched A LOT of tv in 1994, I remember all these like it was yesterday.

    21. Polaroid Captiva, I had that thing. I remember the film being expensive.

  • they'd sell these commercials if youtube didnt exist...

  • Comment removed

  • Tomorrow is March 25th, 16 years from that moment. Wow. The same years as me, I'm 15, but in a month, 16 =D

  • Oh my God...ZIMA. The Horror. I also remember the AT&T commcercial. Never used any of the services shown but I like that Jenna Elfman was the mother in the commercial.

  • @spcmn77

ahaha i was thinking the same thing

  • Ah, the mentos jingle...so late 80s-early 90s

  • ok... guilty of getting wasted on Zima when i first discovered the magic of alcohol...tastes like ZIT...but broke my cherry.

  • gotta love you tube we have generous people who put vintage commercials on here without having to pay for it like those vintage commercials for sale at 0:57

  • I have to admit, 14 years later, AT&T U-verse did let me watch the movie I wanted to the minute I wanted to. They were right.

  • Yea those lame Swedish Mentos commercials.

Zima? Never tried one, B&J taste better.

  • Wow, scary how accurate AT&T's commercial ended up being 15 years later. The Polaroid commercial made me sad since Polaroid is officially phasing out their instant film series cameras... no more shakin' it like a Polaroid picture. :(

  • "Ahh...a nice cool refreshing Zima"

    ROFL.

  • Jimmy Hollywood opend on my b-day lol I turned 11 that day.

  • LOL .. Zima

  • Oh Mystery Science theater..you were the best show on TV...how I miss you....

  • That's so cool that the AT&T commercial actually came almost exactly true. We have netflix that can stream a movie right onto your tv, and online downloading of movies. Online classes where you communicate with the professor via webcam. Many people use skype or another video chatting service to talk with there family via webcam from hundreds of miles away.

  • I am not a doctor but I do not remember learning in anatomy class that eyes are capable of breathing

  • Your eyes may not be "breathing" but they still need oxygen. The retina in particular.

  • Citibank Visa: She said "do do" hahaha

  • "We may not be the number 1 fast food place....."

    lmao they actually admitted it.

  • Does anybody remember "Burger buddies" @ burger king?(the Siamese twin burgers)

  • NKOTB break up in 94, they couldn't even sell out small clubs at that time after selling out stadiums a few years earlier

  • Duuuuude!!! I'm goin' to the bar tonite and i will pick up all the chicks while drinking ZIMA!!!

  • 8:09

    1994 flat-screen TV!

  • I own that classic commercial set on dvd! I bought it a couple of years ago at Best Buy. I think I paid $9 for it lol.
