cant skip the 30 second ad anymore, heres a new method:

as soon as you see "Advertisement" in the bottom left corner of any vid, mute the sound or turn it right down. then scroll down to the bottom of the page, read a couple comments, and by the time you get back up, the ad is done. this way, you will never know what the ad was about, you wont buy the product, the company sees no gain in posting ads here and they wont post ads here anymore. hopefully it will work for the rest of them.

I like the new channel design. but what I really HATE is what they have done to the comments section. They really messed up the reply feature. It was better before when replies were just put under the original comment and put towards the left a little bit instead of putting "@(username)" It's really confusing and unorganized.

Yeah it's a great plugin and makes a big difference. When I turn it off half the YT page consists of ads. ABP also kills Google ads and ads on pretty much all sites I came accross so far.

You should be able to read and post comments after blocking the ads, so I don't know what the problem could be. Try disabling each filter to see which one is causing the problem.

I use windows XP and Opera browser, and Gewgle doesn't cut me any slack. Are there adblocks for Opera, or should I switch back to FireFox?

To block ads in Opera: Right click the page and click "Block Content." Click the ads you want to block and then click "Done."

That should work for most ads, but I'm not sure if you'll be able to block the ones that appear inside the video player.

Youtube gets such a massive number of views that the small amount of people who are actually made enough to bother with doing it will make a negligible impact on how much money they are making. They make one update which isn't that bad, but people find a way to jump on it anyways because they have a psychological need to bitch at people. If you don't learn how to handle change, you're going to have a hard time in life.

Your channel was changed automatically, not because of something you did. All of the channels will be changed in the order they were created (I have 7 channels and only the 3 oldest ones have been changed so far). After your channel is changed, you get a message the next time you visit your channel telling you that it was changed. I forgot the exact words of the message, but it's something like "We raped your channel, hahaha!"

The whole idea about google from the beginning was to help others find a way to efficiently surf the internet, but I see now things are taking a change for the worse. Pagination = dividing into separate pages. The old channels had 20 videos per page. I think anything up to 50 per page would've been reasonable, but the new channels have them all on the same page.

I don't know, but if you delete your channel and then Youtube makes the new channels optional, then you're left without a channel. Blocking ads or simply boycotting Youtube is a better choice imo. If you don't want your channel to contribute to Youtube's total video views, you could make all of your videos private.

Idk whats so bad about the new channels. Everybody says theyre all so badd but the reality is, 90%+ of youtube is going to use them and youtube could really care less about these small revolts

A lot is bad about the new channels.

1. They're slow (even if you have a fast internet connection).

2. Can't view all the playlist descriptions on 1 page.

3. Channel description isn't at the top.

4. Can't open links (playlists, favorites, grid view, etc.) in a new tab/window.

5. Videos aren't paginated (which is a problem for people like me with 800+ vids).

6. Can't see video duration on the thumbnails.

There are more problems, but I'm running out of room.

Looking at ads is just reciprocal altruism. We look at ads because they provide us with a service. If they intentionally anger us by providing a lower-quality service, they deserve to make less money. Tens of thousands of people have already complained on their blog, but they ignored us, so now blocking ads is the most logical way to show our disapproval.
