@haggiss I'm no "master mechanic" as u claim but just the Cr 125 shifters hit 130 with the right gearing. Then u put a 250 moto motor on one (which is considered a super kart) can do in the 150+ range with the right gearing. Then u want to talk about busa karts and gsxs karts? Come on dude it's not rocket science to know that a 1300cc 4cyl motor on a go kart will go faster than 120-130. My opinion u need to go back to school cause the fastest karts easily top your 120-130mph

Bunch of tards. The turbine doesn't need to thrust out the rear for it to move, it could be attached to the cart so it powers the rear wheels, just like turbine engines are attached to helicopters in order to propel the propeller.

My old ICC could go 0-100 and back down to zero in 11 seconds. We geared it right so we could do it. Thats probably 60-70 Mph but 100 mph is about as fast as your gunna get on a kart specfic track.

Also if it hypothetically did have an engine big enough to travel fast enough to become supersonic (breaking the sound barrier), you would need to exceed approx. 768mph depending on air temperature and density. In which case the jet engine would be bigger than this kart.

ummmmm this go kart is going around 100mph, the sound barrier is reached at 720mph, which is Mach 1. Every 720mph after that is Mach 2, which is double the sound barrier speed. Then another 720 is Mach 3, triple the speed, and so on.

Sorry Scrambler I was wrong. I looked at the engines little air intake and yr post and commented to soon. I assume I am wrong to think that a small air intake cant support a jet turbine. Where the turbo comes in is beyond me. No wonder it took so long to spool down. Video does not do it justice to its real speed either.

@BlueBurryPimp That's a Garret JFS-100 turboshaft engine. I have seen this kart in person.  Yes it really goes 100. Shit my cr250 shifter kart goes well over 120. It's not that fast. You have to remember that these things are very low profile and don't have much drag.

Clutch? Most turbine powered vehicles use a torque converter. How do you keep the engine from over revving when the clutch is disengaged? I guess it might work if you are very careful not to disengage the clutch while under load. Even that would be tricky since the engine typically would maintain a constant shaft speed.
