  • old 50's truck

  • u r doing a hell of lot of damage racing a cold engine especially one that hasn't ran in a long time

  • Great truck. you know they looked like a truck inside and not like a family station wagon like modern ones do. Let trucks be trucks,

  • I notice that the truck has a dash-mounted vacuum operated 2-speed rear control. I drove a '54 dump truck with that type switch and it never failed, which I can't say about the electrical controls.

  • This definitely brings back memories. My parents had a 1948 Chevrolet half-ton Suburban with the same dash, interior (minus the nice seat-- ours had horrible split and cracked brown naugahyde!), starter pedal, floor shift with three regular gears and a granny gear, etc. Except for a couple of years, it was in regular use until traded in in 1967 on a Chevy Belair! I'm not sure whether your truck would have the same engine as our half-ton but it sounds the same.

  • Texas tags Haha

  • cool nice old truck you got there

  • Had an old studabaker with a flathead 6.Had just enough compression to run.Loved to burn oil but i think thats what kept the rings and valves lubed so it could continue running.

  • Started up and sounds like a Champ.

  • that chevy runs great man

  • thats a chevy for ya cant kill um because there the best

  • What was made from metal that time, is today made from plastic. :(

I love the sound of the metal doors.

  • nice 57 convertible, top goes down price goes up

  • I already love that truck! Here in Germany you couldn't afford a truck like that because of the tax, insurance and high fuel consumption ;-(

    what engine is in it?

  • beauty !

  • why did u get a dead line to prove it starts and is driveable? Where do you live?

  • What is the pto on the truck used for?

  • I love your videos Brother! I wish I could ride shotgun sometime! Cheers!

  • whats DTO?

It is a gearbox on the side of the reanny usually hooked to a hydraulic system to run a dump bed of some sort.

  • love old trucks, hate bees...

cause its a CHEVY Hard like a rock(:

  • What a rusty old gem! I'm jealous of you sir, I'd love an old truck to play with.

  • Got to love that ole AMERICAN IRON! It looks like a HOA tagged your ole truck, tell to them to go fuck themself! If it was the City tell them same to, they have more important thing to do. Hope you restore that truck to its original charm back when it was new.

  • What kinda truck is that??? I NEED ONE!!! lmao nice truck

  • ho..ly...shit..........i am impressed..that was awesome

  • That looks like a TX registration sticker on the windshield. You do know if you tag it as an antique it's exempt from state inspections in TX right?

  • this goes to show you all what old mechanical operated METAL vehicles can do. Good luck with that $30,000 new car or truck. It'll last about 10 years. maybe.

  • I just loooove those rust buckets. I love them!

  • whats that pedal on the very right?

  • @fireburst102 its the starter button

  • SAUDOSO CHEVROLET DE 1950 A 1952 SERGIO BRAZIL

  • @pilot0809 , talk to in english.

  • You funny .The movie dual.Brings back some spooky memories. That truck is alive!!

  • That is beyond cool. The sound of the metal, doors, engine. That old stuff might be the only thing mechanical, working in this world before long.

  • @oinkyerdoinkyerzwazz I wish I would have made a video of it pulling the old rusty tandem axle 1947 5th wheel trailer. I loaded my flamed 57 Chevy convertible on the trailer, to give it a load to haul to work out the bugs when I first got it. When I would turn corners, that old rusty 5th wheel trailer would make an ery scretch like that old rusty tanker truck did in the movie Dual. Imagine driving it late at night with the amber glow from the cablights on the hood, hauling a load. I lived it

  • the sound of an old chevy starting up, the reason i am alive!!

  • new paint and ready to work awesome

  • What is the pedal at the far right ???

  • @khaliddrb1 He sayd it in its video its the starter button. Old chevy,s had that back in the day. I don,t know why i don,t know much about ol chevy trucks.

  • gotta love a chevy nice video love the car and truck

  • What kind of truck is this? (I meant the year, make and model).

  • WOW! What a nice find. You lucky dog you.

  • Who knows, maybe it has towed a dinosaur or two back in the day.

  • Wow. Congrats on getting it to start! Darn. I wish I had something like that...

  • that truck is definatley the tow mater from the movie cars. it is awesome and nostalgic.

  • i love the 57 and you put 200,000 on her. have you ever restored her?

  • what size motor is in that truck

  • i just love old cars but its a shame im 14, when im older if i pass my test i will get an old car or truck

  • what year is it?

  • nice truck and nice boots lol i have the same pair

  • That truck must of been made with AMERICAN wrenches, not chopsticks!

  • Chevy baby!!

  • cooo's like a new born baby

  • its a dinosaur certainly

  • Sounds a little like an old Blue Flame 6. And engine that's close to impossible to kill. Nissan bought the design when Chevy were finished with it, and it was in every Nissan Patrol from the 60s through to the mid 80s. The only noticeable differences they made were to stamp "Nissan" in the rocker cover, and use a different carburettor and air cleaner

  • wow thats really cool

  • You'd be amazed what thes old engines can do without messing with them, but fitting some headers and a 350 Holley transforms them. There's a distinct roar coming from its throat at about 3000rpm with this setup. My boss at a roadhouse I used to work at had this setup in a short wheelbase 1971 G60 Nissan Patrol. He used this beast to pull his 30 foot boat, and rip out the occasional tree stump. Only thing that ever went wrong with it was rust

  • @Mechknight73 I have often thought this 6 was undercarburated. It always did what I needed it to do. It had a tandem axle flat bed trailer when I firs bought it and I loaded a complete 1960 chevy and a complete 55 chevy on it and hauled them down the freeway with this truck for 100 miles at about 50 mph. Slower on steep hills tho.

  • If this old Chev is to be part of your permanent fleet, run a 350 Holley, headers and a propane conversion. The Holley is for when fuel is cheap, the propane is for when it isn't and it runs a lot cleaner than ordinary unleaded. The only thing you have to remember is that it will run hotter on propane, and acceleration isn't as good. Most Class 1 (for anything up to 3 tonnes) towtrucks in Australia run on LPG or propane as it's known in America, because it's cheaper and cleaner

  • my mate had one of these trucks all the way from the usa and drove it here in the uk lovely truck !

  • love it. That old beast has soul....

  • wut a nice ol truck!!! u can never kill a chevy : )

  • I love this old truck!

  • just goes to tell ya, the old stuff is made a lot better.. nice bel air! what year is it?

  • Oh that, thats our family car, its a 1957 Chevy convertible. We have put over 200,000 miles on it on vacations, taking the kids to school, the store, the wrecking yards, you name it, Its a good dependable car.

  • @restodan You gonna restore her?

  • @restodan the Chevy truck inst diesel?

  • nice Bel-Air in the street

  • @kinging9 Thanks, thats our family car. My last video is on that belair. We have put over 200,000 miles on that car since 1995.

  • How many miles are on that thing?

  • @Dayberry I don't know, that old man who drove it when it was new said he drove it all over the USA when it was new delivering ice machines to motels. I did find an old California and New Jersy road map in it??? He said he wished he had a dollar for everytime he drove it to Colorado, he would be rich.

  • man this thing is cool

  • I have a truck just like this. It's in pieces and it need restoration but it 's a 6400 5 window,1949 model,it has the original 235 6 cylinder

  • put it back together and get it going, you will have a simple, heavy duty truck that will last you the rest of you life...

  • Interesting that it's covered with rust but still whole and solid looking.

  • wat yrs the inspection say?

  • It was from 2008, it didn't restick to well, and it was expired anyway. I really haven't driven this truck daily since 2002.

  • @restodan very good truck Dan.

  • Are you in Fort Worth? I have seen that Chevy at Ace in the Westcliff shoping center very cool!

  • Far out, how reliable is that engine. How long will it take before its completly dead.

  • Even its Japanese descendant takes a long time to die. Nissan bought the Blue Flame design in the 60s, and used it on its Patrol 4WDs up until the early 80s. Every bit as strong as the Blue flame because there was very little they changed about it

  • WOW! I'm inspired! I need to go crank my old 50 chev ton and a half. you got one sweet hunk of iron there!

  • you can not beat a good old chevy

  • Good that you cranked the old beast.. hahha She's quite a beauty..
