Oh, and in case anyone was wondering, I asked and Story was not tanned and did not wear nails or false eyelashes. She had makeup on and a small wiglet that are usually worn by babies in glitz pageants because it is smaller than a usual wiglet.

3) The directors were ALSO PAGEANT COACHES! One of the prizes given to the queen was a free coaching session from them. But "we don't want a girl who was coached." hahaha...maybe it was more like "we don't want a girl to win who already has a coach so we can sell our services."

4) This was the first and LAST pageant these directors ever had...the pageant world is small and everyone who heard of this sham pageant stay far away from them.

I was at this pageant and my cousin knows Story's mom:

1) guy judge was blonde director's husband. young girl judge was her sister. she says "the judges contacted me to tell me there was a mistake." really? lol

2) Story's mom was told specifically to "do what you usually do" for competition. Story usually competes glitz or semi-glitz. She called the directors twice before the pageant to make sure of what they were looking for.

I will say though that I give Story's mom a lot of credit, she was not even mad/rude about the supposed "mix up". She didn't say anything negative, although I figure she had to be thinking it. I would of been really upset. I am glad they didn't take the lil girl's crown away though. As far as Marleigh, I think her mother is deluding herself into thinking her child likes pageants. I will say that it's possible it was just a bad day for the lil girl when she got on stage she did seem to enjoy it?

I mean how hard do you think it is to count scores and double check them before announcing a winner? This just reeks of being rigged! Funny that in the beg. of the episode the woman over the pageant said "I think it will be between Kayleigh and Story" basically saying they both could win. Yet when Story won, she was "surprised" and then a judge happened to get in touch with them and say they didn't think she won. I thought the judges were not supposed to be discussing scores during a pageant.

Personally, I think that the woman over the pageant was kinda biased from the get go. She said natural girls have the advantage. Well, then why did they not specify it as a natural pageant? I think when a glitz girl won, that was not an image they wanted to portray. I mean they are, like you said from a small pageant and most contestants probably are natural, wouldn't want to make any of those contestants mom's mad and loose money. So to save face they call it a "mix up". cont. above

@poptartbabe234 I'm sorry what does it being a hometown pageant matter? I mean the "lady over the pageant" said herself at the beginning of the episode that they had all types, as far as I could tell there was no rule against makeup. Training and practice has a lot to do with it, I mean anything else in life, the most trained and most qualified person would win, in just about any circumstance. Now Kayleigh is a lil doll do not get me wrong, but the mix up was too convenient.

You see Kayleigh's mom just wants her too have fun and she did! She really didnt care about winning just having fun and being herself. I'm soooo happy she won :)

@Sleepingsparklegirl They were not rubbing it in Story's family's face! They were just happy that their child auctually won, wouldn't you be if you had a child that was in pageants? What are they supposed to do when they find out later that she won, just not be excited at all and just worry about what the other family is thinking?

I really dislike Kayleigh's parents. I mean yeah your daughter won but rubbing it in the other girl and her families faces is wrong. Grow up people, mistakes happen, it seems to me that the children are more mature than the parents.

I'm from North GA where this pageant was held, and I knew right away the judges would prefer the more natural look. Had it been held in Atlanta with "city folk" as judges, glitz would have pulled it out.

you'd think they would have made it a tie or something, since it was the judges fairly bad screw up. it seems kinda harsh to be like, well, we won't take the 5 year olds crown away but the wrong little girl won. i don't know....i guess it's all weird anyway, i should go back to watching zombie films...

yes maybe story has better stage presence, which is becuz of her being trained and also her personality.. kayleigh waz just doing this on he rpersonality and i think this shows that u dont need to be full glitz and use a lot of money to win..

It doesn't matter. Story is 5! And its one out of who knows how many pageants she's in. I'm glad Kayleigh won. Besides-Story doesn't know she didn't win. Lol:)

Let me first say that the money and pressure that go into these things for little children is insane. However, I was impressed with how both Story's and Kayleigh's moms approached the experience for their daughters. They both made it relaxed and fun for the girls, and in both cases I believe the girls were truly enjoying the pageant. In the case of Marleigh, it is painfully apparent that this is not something she enjoys doing, and Mom needs to get a clue and realize that already.

On another note...taking away the title from Story after the fact was really lame. It's great that Kayleigh got the recognition, but do you really think it felt as good for her to recieve it as an "oops"? I'm glad that Story's mom had the sense to not tell her about it.

That family was nice I don't think they bribed the judges, although I was not expecting kayleigh to actually win. That little girl wasn't there for the trophies or crowns but for the fun of being beautiful!

I love Kayleigh, but I hate how the lady said it wasnt Story, It WAS her, its not like they put a robot onstage, just because it wasn't as glitzy as other pagents doesn't mean she didn't deserve to win, she worked just as hard as the other girls, but I am glad they let her keep the crown.

I love how they "made a mistake" with the scores lol Translation: Another girl's parents bribe a judge afterward in order to get her the title lol. Pageants are ruthless and cutthroat. NOT in the sense that the kids are, but the parents are (obviously) insane lol

I can just imagine these little girls 10-12 yrs from now on a date "Oh i can kiss you good night, ill lose my false teeth...No dont touch the hair! My weave will fall off!" I wouldnt take my child to this pagent. pagents are serious business to run a pagent successfully you have to at least make sure you add up the points correctly these little girls are big business.

I personally think that whenever kayliegh actually won i was surprised because whenever she went up there she did nothing . but story actually did amazing and gave it her all !! sorry lauren you are very talented and beautiful but story was little bit bettter in that pagent !! GO STORY !!

I'm sorry but I find it VERY STRANGE that the girl over the pageant said "Story is not who I would of picked, she was trained", yeah she practiced and isn't that what most high level pageants are about? Story put more work into it and you could tell she was more put together. Then after she says that there happened to be a problem with the voting? I think Story is good enough she shouldn't be in these hometown type pageants, she should be in National level pageants.

What Toddlers and Tiaras does is when someone applies for the show is they ask for a list of pageants your attending or considering attending, and sometimes they'll ask you to attend a specific pageant. This usually happens when they want to feature someone, but don't want to film any of the pageants that the girl is already going to.

@BROOKE99INFINITI If you watch the whole vid the judges wanted natural beauty and a more natural child. NOT the practiced,made up and fake little girls. Yes Story is def. no small home town sort of beauty queen, shes more a trained model who enjoys the glamours of stage. I think both girls are good but in there own versions. Im glad they allowed Story to keep her crown, she looked happy to have it.
