Cmon people, no car will stop on that kind of ice. Unless you have winter tires or studded tires. Pumping the brakes won't do anything either. In that situation your best bet is to find a curb and drive into it. Cheaper than wrecking your entire car.

Yeah, ice so what. I've driven when roads are icy as hell because I am living in CO (AND I'm from CA) and I've never had any trouble. It still requires you to pump the brakes so you don't slide all over the place. I didn't learn that it was important to pump your brakes in CO either, I learned it in CA.
Used to live there, and this is exactly what happens, everyone thinks that having AWD or 4WD makes them invincible, and even though the last 4 cars couldn't make it, they can.

Cmon people, no car will stop on that kind of ice. Unless you have winter tires or studded tires. Pumping the brakes won't do anything either. In that situation your best bet is to find a curb and drive into it. Cheaper than wrecking your entire car.

I'm placing this in my favorites, since I love watching yuppies suffer. It just makes me smile to see the fact that their SUVs' so-called "All wheel Drive" fails where it is supposed to excel. Hope those yuppies had fun with the paper work afterwards. >=D

HAHA, what a great laugh! That first SUV was driven by a 5'3" soccer mom while she was talking on her cell phone about Desparate Housewives, no doubt. I hope she managed not to spill her Starbucks double shot, half decaf, skinny latte through that whole ordeal.

yes that was definitely ice, there is not much you can do when the whole road is a sheet of ice, pumping brakes, abs, awd, 4x4 nothing. All you can do is use your best judgment and stop driving in this situation. for some reason common sense is hard to find when situations become difficult, this vid is case and point.

Yeah, ice so what. I've driven when roads are icy as hell because I am living in CO (AND I'm from CA) and I've never had any trouble. It still requires you to pump the brakes so you don't slide all over the place. I didn't learn that it was important to pump your brakes in CO either, I learned it in CA.

Used to live there, and this is exactly what happens, everyone thinks that having AWD or 4WD makes them invincible, and even though the last 4 cars couldn't make it, they can.

wow the cars just seemed to keep going. I'm definitely glad I live in California and hope I never have to face such horrid roads. And what was so important: probably just being selfish and thinking they weren't going too far and wouldn't be in danger
