Someone is lying - there is a whole lot more oil spewing into the gulf than what we are told. Do the math: 3.14 * 10 * 10 * .4 * 12 * 3600*24/216/42=14,354 barrels of oil per day when the flow is only 5 inches a second out of a 20 inch pipe. (We are told the pipe is 21 inches in diameter) I saw the plume of oil coming out at ten feet a second, which makes the flow more like 358,857 barrels a day. Ten feet of oil a second isn't much - you can jog that fast.

I am hearing that:
The Oil you see at the top is only a small percent, most of the oil is underwater as plumes ranging in size of about 140 square miles
Cap is just a Smoke & Mirror tactic. Cap is Holding back oil pushing oil out in other places of the Gulf like Cracks or Old Closed Wells
Pressure is around 6700 psi, when it should be at 18,000 to 20,000 which means its leaking in other places

Nuclear underground blast will not make it bigger because contrary to layman views a contained underground nuclear explosion triggered near that well will smother it immediately and completely. Russians used it successfully a number of times to smother burning gas wells that no amount of water and chemicals could extinguish. And VERY little environmental damage would result (compared to spill itself)
A shaft needs to be drilled on the bottom of the ocean though to house the bomb...

My question is, why choose to use a TOXIC dispersant ie. Corexit that disperses and sinks, creating deposits of poison on the sea bed? People talk about pressure being too great and the fact that you can’t deal with this type of pressure easily and fix it. Dropping a heavy metal or concrete funneling structure and managing the oil through pipes from this structure up to the surface is a simple and manageable solution. They knew they were playing with nature because the drillers experienced many shockingly powerful blow outs as they were drilling down to this chamber. They hit a frickin oil volcano. It's reasonable to assume the drill casing split during the blow out which blew three safety valves. With the casing being split the ocean floor around the well is being fracked by 70,000 psi. It's over folks, the party is over. Only divine intervention will save us. Seriously...REPENT while you can.

I had an idea to completely rip out all that piping down there and lower a giant horizontal concrete slab over the hole on the ocean floor.
Trust me, they can do this and stop the leak. Greed is the reason they won't use my idea.

Someone is lying - there is a whole lot more oil spewing into the gulf than what we are told. Do the math: 3.14 * 10 * 10 * .4 * 12 * 3600*24/216/42=14,354 barrels of oil per day when the flow is only 5 inches a second out of a 20 inch pipe. (We are told the pipe is 21 inches in diameter) I saw the plume of oil coming out at ten feet a second, which makes the flow more like 358,857 barrels a day. Ten feet of oil a second isn't much - you can jog that fast.

@1gmg yeah, it's obvious that BP (or Big Pain in the ass XD) is not telling us the whole truth and nothing but the truth :P the government needs to tell BP what to do and what not to do by employing scientists to find the best solution. It's what real leaders do- get the people who would best know what to do and who have a neutral stand. This way it gets the problem solved in the most efficient way, and they have no gain or loss to provide accurate information about the subject.

one barrel is about 32 or more gallons. do the math. even at 5000 barrels a dAY thats 160000 gallons. JUst picture a gallon of milk. Take that size and just think about it. remember they have lied about the amount released per day.It was and still is more than 5000 barrels per day.

They should let the oil wash up on the beaches to clean it up, not use dispersants that hide the oil. Dispersants mixed with oil make the water look clear but still smells like Petro.
