Second: Some people are able to convince a jury that they didn't know they had to pay income tax. Basically it's the "I'm stupid so have pity on me" defense. Even when these people are acquitted they are still liable for all of the tax owed, plus interest and penalties. What's sad is that oftentime the penalties will be more than the original tax due.

oneki: the first bit of advice I have for you is to ignore anything you saw in Russo's video regarding income tax. Every bit of it is wrong. The statutes requiring us to file and pay income tax are all in Section 1 of the U.S. Code. Google "Tax Protestor FAQ". This FAQ is written by an attorney and covers all the codes and the most common arguments against income tax. Don't be suckered in by the various theories telling you it's illegal. It will only lead to bad times.
