  • 3. Try to straighten the spin of the flywheel, any off-centre rotation takes angular momentum from the engine, that loss of energy could otherwise be used in keeping it running.

    4. Place the engine underwater to see if you find any leaks anywhere and fix them.

  • Its hard to fix such a thing through a video but i'll give it a shot -

    1. Is the displacer rod (entering the cylinder) sealed properly, if not any pressure will escape through here rather than push or pull the piston.

    2. Is the displacer moving the full length inside its cylinder, if not it will not create much of a pressure differential during its upwards and downward stroke, ie. it will find an equilibrium, judging by the bend in the crankshaft the stroke looks very small.
