  • Very nice version, I also really like James Galway's version, more traditional! thanks

  • i heard this song in Star Trek

  • @dany456789 Which episode?

  • @OpeningSalvoe

The Next Generation Series "The Wounded" - where Chief Miles O'Brien sings it on board of USS Phoneix. In my opinion - one of the best and most underrated episodes of the series.

  • @AnteyPL Yes I very much agree. That is one of the best episodes ever, along with the two part episode "Chain of command".

  • @OpeningSalvoe

My all-episodes-all-series favourites are "Measure of Man", closely followed by "Inner Light" and "The Wounded" ex equo with "Chain of Command". I also liked "Drumhead", "Booby Trap", "The Most Toys", "Offspring", "Deja Q", "Best of Both Worlds"

  • @AnteyPL All classic episodes yes. All great choices.

  • @AnteyPL also it is played in the last ds9

  • @AnteyPL

    I agree awsome episode

  • GOD BLESS GOOD OLE EIRE

& GOD BLESS THE IRISH !

& MAY HE RID IRELAND OF

    THE RECENT INVASION:

    THE GOD DAMNED MUSLIMS !

  • nice what's the movie at 4:08? thanks

  • @Trogiss Michael Collins.

  • @Trogiss' God and Generals" the charge of the Irish Brigade at Fredericksberg. The prequel to Gettysberg

  • wow thisis pretty bad u cant even hear the words, its all mixed up, the one from the 97 reg is alot better

  • @holtjohnson What are you talking about this is the best rendition of The Minstrel Boy that there is. Go clean out your ears and you'll be able to hear it better.

  • @OpeningSalvoe the music in the back round is ok and love the clips. iv seen most of the origenal movies in it. but the voice dosnt sound like the way it should have been song, it has a weird echo to it, thats just my opinion

  • @holtjohnson Ok fair enough.

  • @OpeningSalvoe

In my opinion - third best. After Clom Meaney's & Danny Quinn's

  • irish pride

  • The facts are that man's constant state is war, and that the planet will be overpopulated and ablaze in the years to come.

We war against one another for jobs, breeding space, power, beauty and our loved ones. Watch the birds in flight. It is not for pleasure or for sport that the dive and race over the fields, but for the food to feed their young, to fight of the best nesting spot, an unite only against a common foe.

Everyone hated the Jews. Its the vanquished Germans who carry the can.

  • @1918a2 everyone hated the jews ? speak for yourself. idiot

  • dam ye to hell ye finians. but god rest ye souls.

  • For the record, the IRA members who collaborated with the Nazis were entirely ignorant of the concentration camps. Yes, Germany was known for anti-semitism, but that was not unusual in that time period.

That doesn't mean I agree with collaborating with fascists, but they saw little difference between England and Germany.

  • @borbo23

There never was much difference between northern Germany and England since the 5th century C.E. (AD) onward. The Angles, Jutes & Saxons were Germanic tribes who comprised a large portion of the population in Germany and most of the isle of Britain.

The English kings, from George I onward were all Germanic The true family name of the queen of England is not "Windsor" it is Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. Many of the royals of the UK were "pro-German" & "pro-Nazi.

  • @BoudiccaBlanc Very true.

  • @borbo23 Not entirely true at all. DNA evidence proves that the genetic make-up of the present day population of Britain is largely CELTIC, and that all the invaders, Roman, Saxons, Normans, etc were always in a minority among the Celtic tribes.

  • God, boy is my heritage fucked up. Everyone hates my ancestors. Between the Ashkenazi Jews and Irish, I should by all rights be dead. God bless my ancestors who helped to protect their race and history.

  • @SusMerkava Its keeping your fightin edge sharp.

  • @SusMerkava same here dude. We fucked up Irish Jews need to stick together :)

  • It is hardly surprising that there have been so much blood shed in Irish history if there is so much bigotry and unfounded prejudice stuck in it.

  • @kevinwildcelt You cited the HISTORY CHANNEL as a source. Your argument is invalid.

  • I'm getting goose bumps here and I'm not even Irish.

  • What movies are those?

  • @KingOfNormans Micheal Collins, Gods & Generals and Cromwell: Gods Executioner.

  • not your song neither yanks or confeds..!!!!

  • What movies were featured in the video?

  • @NavyDocZack Michael Collins, a documentary called Cromwell: God's Executioner and a movie about the battle of Fredricksburg who's name I can't remember right now.

  • @OpeningSalvoe So you can put it in the description, that civil war movie is Gods and Generals

  • @Omega52 Oh right thanks! I will.

  • @NavyDocZack That movie is Gods and Generals

  • Up the Republic!

  • You forgot about the Irishmen and Ulstermen who fought for the freedom of the French, the Belgians and other Europeans in two world wars.

  • @L42A1 lol no I didn't I just couldn't fit them all into the vid.

  • Politics of the conflict between the English and the Irish aside. I wanted to compliment you on a very moving video. It's a excellent video that matches the song perfectly. I did have a question though, what movies did you get the clips from? I'm pretty sure the last two segments are from Gods & Generals and Michael Collins. I don't know where the segments with Vikings and Roundheads are from. Would you let me know? Cheers

  • @Sarastro42 Thanks very much. Yes the last few clips were from Micheal Collins. The clip with Cromwell at the battle of Clonmel was taken from an Irish documentary called "Cromwell: God's Executioner" which was also shown on the History Channel. The bit with the vikings I actually can't quite remember now, it was taken from a short tv ad for some festival or something being held in Dublin, that had something to do with the battle of Clontarf against the Vikings in 1014, can't quite remember now.

  • "I cannot defeat this Klingon. All I can do is kill him ... and this no longer interests me."

-From a Star Trek Deep Space 9 Episode.

Here's hoping the English are finally getting tired of killing Irishmen, then we won't have to kill any more of them. Sometimes it IS that simple.

  • @LeoAutodidact Good man i've seen that episode. Jem Hadar to Worf.

  • An Irish Terrorist is the same as an Arab Terrorist: a dirtbag that needs to be shot.

  • @jimthayner You fucking noob, double posting.

An American soldier is like a Nazi stormtrooper, the only good one is a dead one.

  • @OpeningSalvoe My son is an American soldier, and he is hardly a Nazi. You can't respond to idiots by becoming an idiot yourself. Great video. Sent it to my son, and he loved it too.

  • @rothaic1 Yeah I know mate, you're absolutely right, I didn't really mean that, I just get very defensive when someone starts running off at the mouth about my country. Glad you enjoyed the video. Tell your son I meant no offense.

  • @OpeningSalvoe England should get out of Ireland. Thanks for the video!

  • @jimthayner Theres a difference between someone who wants to eradicate everyone who is doesn't adhere to extremist ideals and someone who wants to Unify their homeland. Terrorism in Ireland ends when the English leave, terrorism in the Middle East will not end if you leave (not that being there will totally end it).

  • @MrBaphomet666 : "800 hundred"

    srsly.

    ur retarded retarded.

  • This tune is Irish and it was at the end of the film Black Hake Down You cant beat the IRISH

  • nice

  • Comment removed

  • @vinnyhoags Who are you talking to there?

  • The Irish.........Greatest men on the earth.

  • @vinnyhoags Erin go Bragh

  • Fantasic video.

  • Great vid. Outstanding.

  • @MrBaphomet666 Know Surrender,asshole.

  • @MrBaphomet666 I suppose we should have done like the Scots then and taken the cowards way out huh? Bought and sold for English gold lol fuckin sell outs. Unlike you we have some god damn backbone.

  • @OpeningSalvoe The Scottish "nobles" sold out, not the Scottish people, same as most Irish "nobles" did too. By the way King James I who "united" the "crown's" was a Scot, a Stewart, even the "nobles" refused to unite under an English King. My people left for the "colonies" in America, via Ireland. Without "nobles" to sell them out, we fought the English and beat their ass. Not everyone was willing to stay and live under opression in the hopes of some day being free. That's why they are free !

  • @kevinwildcelt I always have to laugh at the way you people try to make out that Scotland is part of a free and equal union with England just because it was formed by a Scottish king. Makes me laugh everytime.

  • @OpeningSalvoe Funny but I re-read my entry and I never used the words FREE or EQUAL is reference to that infernal "union". I said the "nobles" would settle for that. My people left rather than live as second class citizens and came to America. My family helped shake off the English yoke, here ! They could own their own land here ! Pray as the wished here ! And more importantly they helped make that possible for countless millions of other people. That is far from cowardism !

  • @kevinwildcelt Yeah your people left looking for freedom in a foreign land while mine fought for it and won it in their own. But yes I agree with you, it IS an infernal union.

  • @OpeningSalvoe What land did they win ? I

  • @kevinwildcelt emmmmmm IRELAND. Ever heard of it?

  • @OpeningSalvoe Ireland, yeah I think I heard of that. My Great GrandMother's people were from County Sligo. BUT Ireland isn't free really is it ? I mean you have The Irish Republic and you have Northern Ireland, sort of like the two Korea's. Glad we ddin't wait for freedom. As for a comment you made about the American soldier, comparing them to the Nazi's, there are only two people who have died for mankind without expecting anything from them in return Jesus Christ and the American Soldier !!

  • @kevinwildcelt Ireland is freer than Scotland isn't it? hahahahahaha Are you serious? You're going to site Jesus as an example of heroism? hahahaha you still have imaginary friends then? FFS are you on drugs or something, you think American soldiers are saints? What about all the attrocities they committed in Vietnam? Go get yourself an education.

  • @OpeningSalvoe I don't live in Scotland ! I live in the USA. Vain attempt to dodge the fact that we achieved freedom, on your part. Tamed a continent, became the worlds super power. I do not believe in Saint's. hence any comparrison would be erroneous to Amerca's GI's. Europe does not all speak German, Asia does not all speak Japanesse, nor the World forced to live under Communism, thanks to America's soldiers. Not Saints, freedom lovers. Jesus is my personal savior, no excuses made or needed.

  • @kevinwildcelt It doesn't matter where you live, because you're quite obviously Scottish or of Scottish descent so my point still stands. Ireland achieved it's freedom, Scotland didn't.

  • @OpeningSalvoe As Foghorn leghorn would say, "Son, your about as sharp as a bowling ball". I am an American, period. I am of a Scottish, Irish & German ethnic background. You know the ones who's soldiers you compared to stormtroopers. As for Vietnam, I had 2 Uncles, a Cousin & a Brother-In Law serve there, trying to keep people FREE. Same as my Father did in Korea. As 2 Cousin's & another Brother in Law did in Kuwait and yes, as another couisn did in Afghanistan & Iraq. AMERICA exports FREEDOM.

  • @kevinwildcelt HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! America exports freedom???? HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Only an American could be naive enough to believe that. Boy you are such an innocent aren't you, and I was right about your heritage wasn't I? I was spot on!

  • @OpeningSalvoe Sure even the Irish Republic wouldn't be free if not for the constant flow of money and arms to the IRA from America. Not an inocent, well read & educated, just not blinded by jealously or hatred. While American soldiers were being killed liberating Europe from the Nazi's, people like you blinded by hatred in the IRA were helping the Nazi's by spying and sabotage, thats recorded history! Nazi's killed millions and oppressed tens of millions.Who spread freedom more than we did !

  • @kevinwildcelt There was no flow of arms and money from America during the Anglo Irish war you idiot. Typical yank who knows nothing of history and is trying to lay claim to things his country hasn't done. Here we go with more bullshit about the IRA helping the nazis. I've heard it all before. Where's your evidence? Recorded history? Are you trying to make me laugh?!! America sat back and did absolutely nothing while Irishmen fought to defend France from German aggression.

  • @OpeningSalvoe The history channel aired a program on the the IRA Nazi link, part of a series called Hitlers Collaborators". An hour long it gave names, dates, bombings. The Irish Republic though publicly neutral during the war, helped round them up. Not very hard reallylack of command/control. Even in the 1916 easter uprising the only reason "Dev" wasn't shot with the rest was he was born in America, the us government saved him from execution. Michael Collins money & arms came from here.

  • @kevinwildcelt LOL listen to you trying to slot some kind of contribution by America into Ireland's struggle for freedom. America did fuck all to help the IRA or the Irish people as a whole during our struggle for independence. Dev wasn't executed because he was a U.S citizen? Is that the best you can come up with? Pathetic. No money or arms ever came from America you idiot, now you're simply making things up. As for the IRA how could they have helped the Nazi's when the IRA were.....

  • @OpeningSalvoe Try the fact the Irish Brotherhood, predecessor of IRA formed in New York City. In 1867 Americans mostly Union Civil war vets, plotted & attempted to invade Canada, in a crazy effort to make a trade for Ireland. "Dev" was not executed because America, a neutral country in that part of WWI, insisted he not be as condition to keep the arms coming to the UK. Then Losing WWI. "Dev" toured America raisng money for the Irish Brotherhood before & after his release from prison.

  • @kevinwildcelt As to the Nazi connection, Sean Russle then IRA head and Seamus O'Donnovan IRA "head of Chemicles", aka bomb maker head ran the IRA "S Plan". Their American fundraiser was Joseph McGarrity, the Nazi agent in charge Oskar Faust. You wanted names got them. The Republic helped run then into the ground because they IRA was fighting Dublin and the English after the 1921 Anglo/Irish Treaty. The IRA created "officially in 1922. NORAID brought millions of American dollars to Ireland.

  • @kevinwildcelt By the way the Irish Brotherhood unit that inflicted the most damage to the English during the 1916 Easter rising, were not those armed with the German smuggled in Mauser rifles BUT those holding the bridge, using American smuggled in Winchester repeating rifles, they inflicted about 70% of all the English casualties. The Irish Brotherhood were the first to use American Thompson Submachine guns in combat, smuggled in by the uncaring selfish American PEOPLE !! Americans.

  • @kevinwildcelt First of all Dev achieved fuck all while touring America, his trip there is widely regarded by historians as a failure. Secondly the Irish Brotherhood WAS NOT formed in New York that was the FENIAN Brotherhood, get your facts straight shit for brains. As for Sean Russle he is hated by those on the left in Ireland because he's percieved as being a friend to fascism, and he's hated by those on the right because he's believed by those on the right to have been a communist.

  • @kevinwildcelt Now kindly fuck off!

  • @OpeningSalvoe Typical, when you can't face the facts, say Fuck Off ! You denied the Nazi connection and demanded names I gave them to you. You denied American people helped in trying to liberate Ireland, again I proved you wrong. You don't like Sean Russle, I don't care. He and his cronies did what they did, face reality. Envy is a terrible thing BUT I am afraid it isn't me that is envious. I don't care if they called them selves the Irish yanker brigade, my point was they didn't do it alone.

  • @kevinwildcelt How did you prove that there was an IRA connection to the Nazi's and that America helped liberate Ireland you delusional idiot? That's why I told you to fuck off because only a fool argues with a fool. Russell is disliked by EVERYBODY I just told you idiot that those on the right think he was a communist and those on the left think he was fascist collaborator, he has no place of destinction in the history of Ireland's republican movement, a point you can't seem to grasp. You can..

  • @OpeningSalvoe We are I think talking about a difference in terms, America as a country didn't help liberate Ireland, that's correct BUT that was not what I meant. American people, average citizens did though & very much so ! To deny that is insane. Americans are in jail here today for being caught smuggling guns & explosives to Ireland. Americans have robbed banks for "the cause". Helped try to kill English officials while in America. If you don't or can't acknowledge that your hopeless.

  • @kevinwildcelt ONCE AGAIN and try getting this into your thick skull. Americans did NOTHING for the Irish DURING OUR WAR OF INDEPENDENCE. ONCE AGAIN The Scots FAILED to kick the English out in their own country.

  • @kevinwildcelt ...try and convince yourself all you want that America had a role to play in Ireland's liberation but the history books still say otherwise. Tommy guns? Is that the best you've got? Fucking pathetic. Envy? Who or what praytell am I envious of you moron? Look at you now trying to sweep your ignorance under the carpet, you thought the IRB were founded in New York you moron. And your point about your heritage is WHAT exactly? You're the one who brought up Scotland in the beginning.

  • @OpeningSalvoe I said my Scot & Irish relatives left rather than live in any form of servitude, they came here & built a home out of the wilderness & kicked the English GOVERNMENT OUT ! They beat them again in the war of 1812. Together with other ethnic groups like my German forebeares they turned a continent into a thriving nation that has stayed free for over 230 years. I told you about the thompsons because eevn the US Army didn't have them but american citizens got the to Ireland.

  • @kevinwildcelt Opening salvoe I don't care who Russle was BUT in the late 1930's & during WWII he was the head of the IRA. He didn't deny his involvement in the Nazi plot. He said it was "a mistake" you'l love his reason though, not because it was wrong BUT because after America entered the war, WWII, HIS actions caused American CITIZENS who had been donating to "the cause" to quit sending money. He must have indeed been an ass ! BUT he also confirmed the flow of money you said din't exist.

  • @kevinwildcelt Flow of money I said didn't exist? You're talking about the 40's you idiot! America gave no assistance to the Irish during our war of independence. Certainly none worth mentioning. What you STILL can't grasp, because you're too stupid to, is that the IRA were communists in the 40's and Russel is despised by the left because he's seen as a fascist collaborator, and also by the right because they see him as a communist. He's hated within the republican cause, his statues have been..

  • @kevinwildcelt ...defaced over here by both the right AND the left, my point is, he's an embarrassment to the republican movement. Yeah once again, your Scottish relatives FAILED to achieve independence for their own homeland. You picked a bone with me saying to a Scottish fella on this page that the Scots were bought and sold for English gold, which they were.

  • @OpeningSalvoe I said the Scottish NOBLES gave in, read what I actually wrote, not what you dream I said. Even during the American Civil War 1860-1865, there were Americans raising money here to send to Ireland. The New York 69Th Volunteers a predominately Irish/American unit of the Union Army deducted money from their monthly pay for Ireland, there are written records to prove it. Deny what you will, your not only wrong & stuburn but your unwilling to face any reality that challenges your

  • @OpeningSalvoe illusions. My reference to Russle was to the Nazi connection 40's that YOU denied existed. Are you that confused ? No matter what I write you answer statements I didn't make, blame me for things I never wrote & seemingly just hate America & Americans, which is your privledge. Just so you realize this, not only would most Americans especially ME not really care if YOU like them or our country because YOUR love or hatred of us is simply not a factor to us or our way of life. BYE

  • @kevinwildcelt ...communist in the 40's! You're quite obviously of Scottish descent and are envious of the fact that YOUR mother country never attained it's independence the way Ireland did. So are you telling me that you're so naive as to believe that American soldiers are dying in Iraq for the freedom of the Iraqi people when everyone else knows that they're only there to secure Iraq's oil? As for Jesus, if you like having an imaginary friend even though you're a grown man thats your business.

  • @OpeningSalvoe Hey shit for brains, I am an American, we have been FREE for over 230 years. It took us in just 10 years to beat England, who then was at the peak of their economic & military power I might add. They had the largest navy & most powerful army in the world. When the English sent troops to New York to quell the rebellion, they sent almost 3,000 ships. It was the largest gathering of ships of invasion in history, until the D-Day landing in WWII. My ONLY "Mother Country" is the USA.

  • @kevinwildcelt Hey shit for brains, it's obvious to any idiot on here that you're denying your Scottish ancestry because you're embarrassed about it, because your Scottish ancestors FAILED to achieve independence. As for America defeating the British, you had the advantage of having the Atlantic fucking ocean between you and them and you WOULD NOT have succeeded without the help of the French, the same people you insist upon calling "cheese eating surrender monkeys". The Irish had no help.

  • @OpeningSalvoe I am not sure how my having a father, who's own father was Scottish and Irish and whose mother was 100% German and having a Mother who's father was 100% German and whose Mother was Pennsylvania Dutch (German) Swede and part Cherokee Indian makes me what ? I know AMERICAN ! IF I am to be labled by genetic make up it would have to be German. The kicker is my wife is 100%Norwegian on her mothers side and 100% Swiss on her fathers side, yet my children both carry a Celtic last name.

  • @OpeningSalvoe

Bad call bad call.......Nazis and Ireland...! WTF - sure America would not be the place it is today without the Irish....and that makes me wonder sometimes..!

  • @niorca I agree but don't tell that to opening salvoe he considers any Irish, Scot's or Welsh who left to come to America for a better life for themselves and their children basically cowards. I think what these people did was amazing, took a wilderness and in less than 200 years they are if not the strongest one of the strongets economies, military and quality of life in history. Take credit for it as Irish people or don't, hate us if you want but don't call those who did all that cowards.

  • @kevinwildcelt It's not just America that fought in these places, or against these people, why is it always an american that's behind all these bloody arguments and semi educated statements that start fights on youtube?

  • @shep8851 Never claimed it was everyone who shouldered a rifle deserves credit BUT if not for America's Industry, technology, agriculture and manpower WWI, WWII & the cold war would have been different. As for why this American is in this argument is because opening salvoe compared American soldiers to Nazi's. We have done far too much, for far too many countries, for the men that put their life on the line or died saving foreigners from oppression to be called Nazi's. Follow the comments page.

  • @kevinwildcelt Ok for the LAST fucking time, because i've said this THREE times already. The only reason I compared American soldiers to Nazis is because an American left a comment saying that all IRA members were just like arab terrorists, dirtbags that need to be shot, or something to that effect. I later apologised for that remark so will people PLEASE read through the comments before getting on my case about this!!!

  • @OpeningSalvoe Hey, I never refered to the French as "cheese eating surrender monkeys" re-read my comments BUT YOU still attributed it to me anyway ! I do not deny France added us at the end of our Revolution, Yorktown was made possible by the French fleet. I do think our assistance to France in WWI & WWII sort of paid back that debt. Even before America entered WWI Americans volunteered to fight for France, the Layfeytte Esquadril a prime example. "Layfeyette We Are Here", their battle cry.

  • @kevinwildcelt I've always had the idea that it was being out manned and out produced in arms that beat hitler, it was certainly not quality of manpower, Hitlers' piss poor leadership lost him the war, all i said was that the United States did not win the war single handedly as most Americans seem to think, that is why it always seems to be an american that is behind the arguements

  • @shep8851

Sure we all know America won the first world war, the second world war....afgan, iraq...and just for good measure every world cup since 195O.....well they may not have, but hey we are yanks ( with a Y now a W we can rewrite history...!!!

  • @shep8851

Are you kidding the good old US of A won the second world war single handed...!! did ye not see that famous historian Speilberg doing his thing and telling how it was...!!! America...Oil....Oil....Oil and Oil.....!!!!!! Sad thing is they dont actually reaise how much the rest of the world despises them

  • @niorca It is all down to DR Speilberg and his like, hollywood is the closest the poor buggers get to lessons in world history and polatics, it realy is a great shame

  • @shep8851 Read what I wrote, Outnumbering your enemy is good, out gunning your enemy is far better. The industrial nation making the bulk of the tanks, planes, ships, grew most of the food to feed not only the troops but civilians came from where ? "Liberty ships", kept the Allies in the war long enough for victory. Hitler as absolute military commander doomed the Germans. I said we made victory possible. France was defeated 1940, England was being bombed night and day, who made the guns ?

  • @kevinwildcelt I'm not argueing that the USA didn't help with all these things we'll always be grateful for your help, but the point still stands, USA did not win the war single handed, it was a coalition of allies much like the Gulf wars, we have recently finished paying the US and Canade back for lend lease, But there are a lot of Americans that believe hollywood and other sources that say that the US done everything,

  • @shep8851 Again and for the last time I NEVER said America did it alone or anything remotely like it. EVERYONE who fought the Nazi's deserve credit BUT As of 1941 France was gone, England being bombed continually, Russia being conquored. all while Japan was beating China, took Korea, Vietnam, Manchuria. The only industrial country left unscathed and able to provide the desperately needed war material to keep resistance to the axis going was America. Opening salvoe doesn't even give us that.

  • @kevinwildcelt You seem to be more knowlegable about this period of history than more US youtubers, so a friendly question, do you think that the US would havegot involved in the european war had not Winstone Churchill had an American mother and Hitler not declared war on the US after the Japanese attack on Pearl Habour?

  • @shep8851 Thank you ! I personally think the US entered both WWI & WWII as part of a ploy ! The mother of Churchill not as powerful as of WWII the largest single investor in the Federal Reserve Bank a private institution that in my opinion unconstitutionally controls America's money supply, interest rates etc. was The Bank of England. Take it one step further Churchill and FDR KNEW about Pearl harbor before it happened whay most people miss is that prior to america's entry into WWI during the

  • @kevinwildcelt German Navy blockade of the UK, the Lusitannia was deliberately not warned of a German Sub known to be in their pathway. The resulting attack brought America into the war. "Coincidentally" the Deputy Secretary of the Us Navy was FDR his counterpart in the English Navy was Churchill. What is worse is the fact that German Intelligence was tipped that the Lusitannia was packed with arms in violation of the blockade. Whis both US and UK denied. In the 1980's they recovered artillery.

  • @kevinwildcelt shells made by Bethleham Steel, USA. WWII needed to be fought to stop Nazi & Jap agression, but THEY where worried about MONEY. FDR turned away boatloads of German Jews who later died in concentration camps, he refused to liberate when he could have. I am not an FDR or Churchill fan never was. The Americans in the "Lincoln Brigade" who went to Spain to fight the Nazi "Condor legion" during that bloody Civil war, were ahead of my nation's leaders in recognizing the Nazi threat.

  • @kevinwildcelt both the english and scots rioted in the streets at the news of the creation of the union

  • @3tangle3 My point to OpenningSalvoe was the Nobles or money Class wanted the union, not the people. Not a comment on whether the English people wanted it. However he seems upon reading his other comments posted on this site to be less guided by history & reality but just mere hatred. He seems to hate, just for hates sake. I personally dislike "Royals" not just because I find the system ridiculous, "divine right of kings et al" but for all the mishchief that their direct family has done to mine,

  • @kevinwildcelt some of the hatred is understandable...........but hatred will never win the argument, never win new allies, and never change things for the better

  • @3tangle3 @kevinwildcelt

I don't hate anyone except for those that are filled with hate themselves, my original two comments were in response to two comments made by two bigots.

  • @3tangle3 I can understand as a Celt myself, the anger & hatred of the English, especially the "Royals" & the so called "aristocracy", who made the policies. But to compare American Soldiers to Nazi's is way out there. Michael Collins who is more than any man responcible for a FREE Irish Republic, was killed for his efforts, not by the English but by his fellow Irishmen. That is tragic, the Lord only knows what he could have done to eventually unite Ireland, if he had lived. Blind hatred loses!

  • Outstanding work mate! I'm thoroughly impressed.Keep up the great work my friend.

  • fills my heart with pride, thanks for this man!!

  • Great work Salvoe,I climed Lugnaquilla today, saw the sight where the battle of Glenmalure took place in 1580, Fiach O'Byrne and the Irish rebels killed nearly 1000English troops as they tried to take his stronghold of the Wicklow mountains, some ambush!
