You are fantastic! You play so well, and with good pacing. It is sad that not only the Detroit Senate Theatre Wurlitzer is expected to be moved, but other great theatre organs having the same fate. They were saved, but the new installments don't have the same acustics as the original buildings that had them.
@koasterkav The Senate Theater is not the original installation for the 4/34 Wurlitzer Opus 1053. It was first installed in the Fisher Theater, Fisher Building. Although it speaks great in the Senate and it would be a shame if it had to be put somewhere that didn't have such great acoustics.
It's too bad that the theater had to close but it was inevitable. When you have people in charge that that don't plan for the future and like to keep their clique's nice and tight.
Terrific organ and great playing! I REALLY hope this organ stays put in this great acoustical environment!
Why don't you start a Facebook group where people can join and donate money to help save the theatre? I have never even been to Michigan and I would be happy to contribute $10. If you get enough people on-board, you might raise enough dough. Who knows? Please let me know, via my Youtube mail, about any such group or place to donate. Thanks!
@KawhackitaRag unfortunately this organ and its placment has been doomed for some time now. I would love more then anyone else to keep this organ in the senate as well but "powers that be" dont want the organ in detroit. I could tell you more but not publicly.
@KawhackitaRag Thank you, I was at one time on the Board of Directors for the D.T.O.S. and said more than once they needed to generate As Much publicity as possible to keep this theater and that magnificent instrument alive and available for all to hear. As to your donation idea-it's great! Think you can get the idea rolling??
@KawhackitaRag There is a facebook group called "Detroit Theater Organ Society" and a website dtos (dot) org. Donations are still by check, nothing electronic yet like paypal.
It all comes down to more members and more money. If that were there apparently the powers that be wouldn't be trying to move the organ. At least I hope that's their reason. I too wish it were staying especially since the neighborhood is on the upswing.
Fantastisch!

That's amazing? How does a pipe organ make such string-like sounds?

Beautifully done! You've managed to keep the balance perfect, even when the registrations are heavier. Bravo!

Ahhhhh the wonderful sound of a real Wurlitzer! I can almost feel the reverb on my body. Oh my, it sounds like the Hub Organ.... gosh.

Wonderful piece of music! Please post more. The theater may or may not close BUT the club will still exist and maintain its ownership of the organ.
