It's amazing how 98% of all fighters that have faced Cotto leave the ring looking like they've been beaten in the face with a baseball bat. He methodically breaks guys down and busts them up. Like Jim Lampley said, "Cotto doesn't just beat you, he beats you up". Couldn't agree more.....
@luisgarcia441 saves por que se canso veldad! por que Cotto estaba desidratado! el firmo la pelea que iva peliar en 146lb y pelio asi no le dejaron que se redritara!
@trucho519 I agree. THey love to go out of their way to go on videos of other fighters to talk shit and bring Manny up. No one goes on Manny videos and talks about Marquez, Cotto, Mayweather. Almost no one anyway. Manny fans are on every single fucking boxing video. I like Manny & Mayweather (but Cotto is my favourite), but I don't like admitting to being a Manny fan because of retards like that.
No, its because Cotto is shot and without a trainer, the older Cotto would have ended Pacquiao with a vicious bodyshot, the same way he ended Quintana.
so ur saying cotto doesnt know how to throw a body shot without a real trainer? are you saying he doesnt remember how to throw a left hook to the body which is favorite punch btw without his original trainer? terrible excuse man, I like how alot of people speculate and make excuses about pacquiao. :)
o and i do agree joe santiago was a shitty trainer and didnt give him advice throughout the match, but pacquiao was taking that left hook to the body and came out unscathed. mind you those body shots would've toppled lesser opponents like quintana for example :)
Dude in my opinion, Cotto didn't even have his full strength. There was one time when he had Pacquiao in the ropes and hardly landed any punches. The old Cotto would have ripped that Pinoy up, sorry current Cotto is not the same.
Cotto had no advice, no one in his corner could offer him a remedy against Pacquiao offensive. He was out there by himself. A trainer is very important, especially when the "worlds best trainer" is at the other end. If you can't see that, then you a problem.
his jab was effective in at least holding him back for the first couple rounds. cotto has a greatly underestimated jab, but your problem is you're saying that a left hook to the body would've ko'ed pac, but it DIDNT he was repeatedly switching to southpaw and unloaded some left hook to the body, IT DIDNT WORK. Pac had a sparring partner named shawn porter who SUPPOSEDLY has a better left hook to the body than Cotto, I guess the results showed.
Yes, for the first two rounds Cotto fought like he should have fought. Cotto used all his advantages in the first and second rounds, and you could tell that Pacquiao was a little uncomfortable. But then he stopped Boxing, it seem like he started getting really agressive, and no one in his Corner could get him back on track. This is why a trainer who is not your "friend" is important.
@Shinokage the fact that shawn porter is well built and is a heavily muscled middleweight uprising prospect, roach intended pac to train his body against real powerful punchers
yes because he easily made 145, was in fantastic shape, his last fight he weighed 146 (it was in an interview i wish i could link it)and was just fine. everyone just looks "shot" when they are fighting the pac-man I love all the excuses especially since cotto looked fantastic for 3 1/2 rounds until pacquiao started to get into his rythym :)
See, all you see is excuses, yet you fail to realise that Pacquiao began to get his rhthym only once Cotto stopped fighting the way he was supposed to fight. I give credit to him for taking advantage of the situation he did nothing illegal, but I won't agree that Pacquiao beats old cotto with his Uncle. Old Cotto would have been Pacquiao's Typhoon.
not really because pacquiao let cotto get the rythym first, pacquiao was cotto's punching bag good ole rope-a-dope. showed cotto that he could take his power and then some, then returned it to him. old trainer or not even if freddie roach trained cotto, pacquiao would still win. ;)
I'm also still holding you to your original excuse where you said old cotto's left hook would have crumpled pac-man. I've watched his old fights and I'm pretty sure he looked damn strong vs pac especially his jab, and his left hand combinations that snapped pac's head back on more than several occasions and made him step back as well. BUT pacquiao looked unfazed looked unhurt (prolly did hurt) but he played cotto's game and beat him in his own game.
I also dont agree with you saying cotto winning if he had his uncle as a trainer. because cotto always had problems fighting southpaws. As a cotto fan i know that and he never had the chin to fight pacmans lightning speed and devestating power. let alone...he tried fighting pac on the inside and he payed for everything he did.
I think Cotto was betta off with his uncle because I think his uncle was a way betta trainer. And the pacquiao fight I'm happy Cotto fougth his cuz even if Pacquiao is crazy and he has a great speed Cotto gave it all he had. Love Cotto! Hope he gets betta and he keepson fightin
