We should have never allowed that technology to leave our hands. Second; as Americans, we should be primarily concerned with America's safety. We need to understand that Bush lied about going to war with Iraq because Sadam wanted to convert his His OIL CURRENCY FROM Dollar to Euro.
Iran wanted to do the same thing. They also want to connect their oil pipe to India which conflicts with US's oil pipe. They will connect to India.
Iran wants to build nuclear plants for their county's energy so they can export more oil to other countries which will increase the economy.

The two main aggressors against Iran are US & Israel both nuclear powers. Not that Iran, would ever use the bomb, but just as every other country around the world who maintains nuclear weapons, it turns any thought of military action or invasion into a less than likely scenario.
I think they would hold the nuclear card similar to how the US does as in "no first strike".

Democracy is , in the famous words of Abraham Lincoln, a "government of the people, by the people, for the people".
Now taking that into consideration, if the majority of Irani peoples are Muslims, and thus believe in the Quran as the final law, then how is it not democratic for them to have laws based on the Quran, or even--as you claim--rid them selves of the laws that contradict the Quran. Separation of church and and State is not a stipulation of democracy.

A constitutional republic, also known as a representative democracy is a valid form of democracy. The majoritarian or the direct democracy, is also a valid form of a democracy. So are countries such as the People's Republic Of China, or the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) considered forms of democracies, since they claim to serve the "true interests" of the people.
You're not a political science major, so don't tell me what is a democracy or not.

The same is true for any literary work really, by taking bits and pieces here and there, a person analyzing any literary work can support a myriad of opinions about the author's intended message. Of course the person has made a fallacy and not established unity within the text or the passage. Similarly if one takes verses here and there from the Quran, without acknowledging their context, he or she can claim any thing about the intended message of the Quran.

Islam actually is derived from a few Arabic root words. The most important in our conversation are Asalama, and Salam. Salam means peace, thats why Muslims great each other with Slam-u-alaikum. Aslama means "surrender or submission" the basic idea is that you surrender your self to God, you submit to him, and you obey him, you are sincere in all things, both religious and secular, and the culmination of that surrender, submission, obedience, and sincerity leads you to peace.

The Quran is so far from being clear. In the 3rd chapter, Ale-Imran, God says that there are clear and allegorical verses in the Quran.
The hadith as well could be interpreted in multiple ways, depending on the school of thought someone follows.
Also theres a handful of violent verses in the Quran compared to the hundreds that promote peace in one way or another.

Since the Muslims had been victorious they rejoiced, took spoils, prisoners, etc. So Allah cautioned them, and reminded them that victory comes from God, and that the Muslims should fight for the truth and justice, and not for spoils or prisoners.

Also the Verse, 8-61 i believe, tells the prophet that if those who fight you incline towards peace, then be at peace, for Allah does not like transgressors.
Therefore you claim that Allah has allowed for unlimited war against unbelievers, until there aren't any left, is baseless.
Also if God had wanted war and violence to be paramount policy, then he wouldn't have said that there is no compulsion in relegion 2:256.

The condemnation of and hostility toward disbelief is intrinsic in the Koran and Hadith.
To claim that all this liturature is taken out of context, or misinterpreted is denial.

btw, do you even know what the bill of rights and the Quran are?
One is the term given to the first 10 amendments to the constitution of the US. The other is a book of guidance.
The bill of rights merely protects the unalienable and natural rights of a United States Citizen (from the government).
Whereas the Quran seeks to guide humanity to the Truth.
I mean its like comparing apples and oranges.

@kamlasayeen: We seem to not be communicating. A nation that calls itself "Islamic Republic" has adopted Islam as the OFFICIAL STATE religion at EXCLUSION of all others. The Qu'ran implicitly becomes part of the constitution. Thus, I have every reason to make the comparison between constitutions. Iran IS an Islamic Republic.The Koran CLEARLY passes judgement & condemnation on disbelief, & elicits hostility towards the nonbeliever. Your denial is slippery & annoying when I can read for myself.

Im not going to get into the whole theocratic state part, because well people can call themselves Muslims and claim to follow the Quran, and yet at the same time they can harm innocents, deprive the orphans and the poor, treat women like animals, etc. (I'm not saying that Iran or the Iranis do this, just Muslims in general).
You seem to think that if a person calls themselves a Muslim, then they're going to follow everything about Islam, now that is simply not true.
