u can use the stock transmitter if its the same as the one on the micro t which im sure it is i cant believer horizon hobby dont even know their own products ro their just trying to get u to buy more products so they get more money as long as u put ur old chrystal from your other reciever into ur new reciever ur good

@wangsterDECKSallday If you want to use the stock servo and transmitter but go brushless there aren't any options. You could pick up a MTX Pro DSM Transmitter (LOSB0807) for a less expensive option.

@wangsterDECKSallday I would not recommend an aluminum spur gear. A) you're going to add weight, B) it will be noisier) and C) it will cause additional wear on the pinions.

@wangsterDECKSallday The higher the KV rating the more RPM you'll get at the wheels. 10250 will get you more wheel spin.

@kraimerica With this conversion it requires the use of a separate receiver. The stock servo uses a 5-wire connector where the receiver is only a 3-wire connection. They just won't work together. The LOSB9524 conversion will allow you to go both brushless or brushed, upgrade to Spektrum technology and use the stock servo if you want to.

@boatwake Power no, but it's faster - like higher gearing. The kV rating is the free-running RPM per volt input - at 7.4V, a 10250kV wants to freewheel at 75,850rpm, where a 8750kV would freewheel at 64,750rpm. Friction will reduce those figures, and just like overgearing a car, you can't hit top speed if you've traded so much torque that you can't accelerate up to speed.

Power is torque x speed, which is limited by battery, or by heat dissipation of your ESC and motor.

@MotoSledScoot4LIFE If you change any of the electronics, ESC/Servo/Receiver you're pretty much going to need to swap out all the electronics.

@Chazzz824 The Brushless ESC and motor are $49.99, the SR3500 receiver is $99.99 and the servo is $15.99. There's also an all-in-one receiver/ESC unit from Losi now too, LOSB9593 is the part number. You'll still need the servo though.

@HorizonRCdotCom LOSB9593 has 3- and 5-wire servo connectors, so you can upgrade if you want but you don't have to. It also has a 3-wire to 2-wire motor adapter so you can upgrade to 2.4GHz and still run brushed if you want to (club races, maybe?). They'll also bundle the 8750kV motor in their "Ultimate hop-up" kit.

You'll need a Spektrum transmitter if this is your first taste of the hobby, so it's still pretty easy to triple the original price of your Rally with upgrades...

@nicthepro1 This conversion requires a receiver and transmitter swap. The only way to use your stock transmitter is if you purchase a Losi 27MHz receiver separately.

@iamgoingtocrushyou If you're talking the wall charger then no, they each have their own independent charger. However if you'd use something like one of the Losi Multi-chargers you could use the same charger, simply change the voltage on the charger.

hey i just got the car, and swapped to brushless right away, didn't eaven try it stock, but when i punch the throttle, it sometimes lags and doesn't turn its seems like something is stuck, could it be the differentials or is something wrong with the motor?? pls help!! Thanks

@MultiLegomad I would mount the 27MHZ gear to the chassis where I mounted the ESC with the Spektrum receiver and then mount the ESC where I show mounting the receiver. You may be able to get everything mounted under the chassis but I am not positive.

I read on forums where the Losi brushless system in this car gets so hot that the motor transfers so much heat to the pinion gear that it melts it. I would get this car and BL system if this wasn't an issue-and believe me I read it from numerous posts. I guess you'd just have to be careful not to run it too hard, but then again, different people, different results.

@jparks4081 If you over-gear the motor it is possible to melt the pinion. That's where adjusting your gearing comes into play. I would never run the largest pinion with brushless myself, stick to the smaller two.

Since you were using the rally the body really gives a lot of room for the reciever but will the sct body give enough room for the reciever?

ahhh, you know. i looked into this and it was really expensive for what i thought was already a nice RC car that ran well. I see now that the price was looking expensive because i was buying both the servo and the rx. I didn't look it up but i'm sure just the servo isn't too bad. So, if you have a radio already you save some money on this. I see now...:)
