This is nothing, coming from NYC or the Jersey Shore, this is a cake walk! A matter of fact, this is a bit tame! In NYC, when fights break out, it's usually with about 20-30 dudes at a time full swinging, and there's always knockouts. LOL.
@egotrader thats cuz there showin u downtown orlando where all the rich white people go. go down 2 where i live at on kirkman and old winter garden. if u aint from here u aint welcome here. Pine Hills Mafia
That guy at 1:05 into the video clearly says he is not resisting, yet the cop keeps pushing and trying to break his arm. I say it's gotta be little man symdrome.
@bIancoitaliano. When i was 15 I went to spend a summer with a family and this zone it was great to going with the family and friends to have fun and a nice night time. Later in 2003 I came back with my wife to show her this zone and to have dinner and to go to some bar to drink something, but when it comes and parks my car, a policeman said to me that it would be better for us to go out of there. I coudn't believe it.

I've read all the comments here, and it's basically...... half and half. Many people saying it's a dangerous dump, many people saying they've never had problems. This is NOT encouraging for someone who is thinking of moving there. :(
@RinEditionB - So what are your thoughts so far? I want to move to New York, but my parents live outside of Orlando and being that I'm the only child and they are getting older, I want to live closer to them. My concern is that if I move to Orlando I will be bored because I love living in big cities.
@Blairtje13 I haven't actually moved yet. I'm moving in two weeks from New York. If you want to move to nyc I know noting about it- but as for the state itself it isn't terrible. winter mornings are an absolute pain in the ass though. Maybe you could move your parents too? some places here are nice for retirement.
@RinEditionB WHEN I FIRST GOT TO ORLANDO PEOPLE WERE ALSO TELLING ME TO WATCH OUT IT IS A DANGEROUS CITY....IT IS NOT AS BAD AS THEY SAID IT WAS, I DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS IN THE 6 YEARS I WAS THERE. ACTUALLY DAYTONA BEACH IS MORE DANGEOUS THEN ORLANDO.
@RinEditionB Look i've been to orlando plenty of times, i live in florida. Orlando is one of the best cities in the u.s. to live, its big and beautiful and safe. I mean theres pro's and cons but no city is perfect. But im damn sure its close to being perfect. The only thing orlando is missing is beaches lol. Orlando has limitless things to do there, some of the most beautiful ppl you'll see especially women lol. i hope this was useful.
The Church Street area is great, not sure what you people are even talking about, thats a great party place. I don't live in Orlando but have been there many times over the years to party at Church Street, and always look forward to going back there. Alot of bars and restaurants, and always good crowds down there, I have never had a problem. I really wish that Sheraton didn't close down though, that was a great place to stay right in walking distance to everthing there.
For those bashing downtown orlando.I work for Rural/Metro Ambulance and i can tell you its not as bad as you make it seem. Its fun to drive downtown on a friday or saturday night. We dont usually run alot of fight or assualt calls.
sorry. PLEASE DON`T READ THIS you will die in seven days if you don`t post this comment on 10 videos in the next hour. if you do, tomorrow will be the best day of your life
i forgot the name of that pizza shop, but im surprised it isnt Gino's, that place is always the first place drunks go to fill up at night.
But just to let you guys know, downtown is great, and ive been there, by myself, walking, from 12 to 3 on HALLOWEEN (where everyone becomes notoriously drunk) and nothing happened (though i dont reccomend it, just in case)
Isn't it just called 24 hour pizza? And yeah, in my experience the drunk assholes are usually just beating up other drunk assholes...it also depends on where downtown you are. I've never been in a fight downtown.
sorry i didnt even notice the inbox, so i took 2 months to reply (lol, oops) but now that i think about it, i think it might be 24 hour pizza, i never remembered to check, but it kinda rings a bell.
Accurate portrayal of Downtown Orlando. I've walked these streets by myself for over twenty years and have yet been fucked with. True enough, it can be scary with all the drunk assholes. Still, people pretty much leave me alone.
People are too up tight...Orlando is a nice city...obviously u dont wanna walk in any bigger cities downtown at night time...thats common sense...i lived in hollis queens and orlando...believe me Orlando is nice compared to Queens.lol
i moved to Orlando 2 yrs ago...the biggest thing that has happened is my cuzzins 2005 toyota Tundra was stolen from infront of our place which is in a Gated Community, lol, we live on the east Side about 10-15 minutes from Downtown, i jog downtown all the time after Midnight and havent had any problems, thank god. Orlando has a lot of crime b/c we have a lot of tourists and people who prey on them. no matter what major city you live in, you will never avoid crime or some type of problem.
I was one of the two officers who responded to the call. We didn't chase it, though. Per policy we only pursue violent felonies (not property crimes). The other officer and I were literally on scene within 30 seconds of the call, driving up Oxalis as the guy pulled out of the complex right in front of us. We'd hoped to block him in the complex, but were a few seconds too late.
The guy sped right by us. By the time we got turned around he had already rolled the truck and was out running.
OMG, what a small world. Yeah it was you I was also trying to follow behind him and I saw when he ran around the police car on Oxalis, and then i wondered why did one of the cop cars stop at the intersectn of CurryFord and Oxalis. I was shocked when i saw the truck had flipped and the guy got away. How can we find out if they ever found him?
Honestly, as fast as we'd gotten there (w/in 30 seconds) we thought we could block him in the complex (as there's only the one entrance). We were literally two seconds too late. I blocked the road with my vehicle, but as you just mentioned he just drove up over the curb and onto on the grass around it.
Unfortunately, there's only so much we can do for property crimes like stolen cars. Current policy says we can't pursue them (risk vs reward of fighting crime vs endangering the public).
man this is sooo crazy, I would have never thought someone would read what I wrote and know that I was telling the truth. We still dont know how they got the truck, but the spare key that i had has been missing every since then. I had a silver Dodge Ram and I used to keep the spare in my glove compartment, and we think I left my doors unlocked and they tried to steal my truck when they found the key for the other truck.
And the guy literally disapeared. I was very surprised he recovered from a crash like that so fast. Realistically, though. He was probably arrested later on for stealing another car. It's usually a couple of groups of people doing most of the car thefts (especially on east side). I can think of a couple names off the top of my head right now...most of them are family and/or related through gangs.
he must have been on drugs or really drunk. We were following behind him and I was flashing my lights and blowing the horn, trying to get peoples attention, that probably was the biggest mistake. he was driving so slowly out of the complex I wanted to ram him, but I knew it wasnt worth it if he had a gun. I now think if I would have just followed him you guys would have made it there intime to stop him. too late now.
Church St fell victim to DowntownDisney and CityWalk. They have reopened to great success with wonderful eateries & clubs. Even the old Saloon & Opera House are back.
Orlando has a vibrant downtown & nightlife. It boasts world class restaurants and bars. The Thornton Park & Eola districts are fanatastic. It is just as safe as any other downtown.

Please do not go to downtown Orlando alone, go with a group of people, it is not safe at all and it is a shithole, ugly as hell with lots of empty buildings and no stores. It is a haven for prostitutes and drug dealers and your crazy hobos.
I'm from Orlando, and I don't know where you are getting this from, but downtown was never like you describe. Maybe in the early 1980's, but it is thriving and well lit with lots of shops, bars, nightclubs, and restaraunts. I've always enjoyed going downtown Orlando and I've never had any problems down there at all. The prostitutes are on Orange Blossom Trail, which is not downtown. It's a great city and I love it!
afewgoodclips is right, the only "bad" part of town with the druggies and whores is on orange blossom trail when it meets colonial, then after a few miles your back into the nice part of OBT (the florida mall and the attractions) but dont worry, theres like an invisible barrier on colonial that stops the hookers from advancing, haha.
I live in Downtown orlando and its super safe. I wouldn't walk alone late at night, but thats true for most cities. Orlando is not that bad. We do have alot of panhandlers though.
It was safe about 10 years ago but I was shocked at how bad it is now. I travel to Orlando about 4 times a year for my job and I made the mistake of taking my family downtown a few years back. Well, Mr. Hyperbland, your mediocrity is quite transparent. Jacksonville is nothing more than Atlantic Blvd, or as I like to call it, the world's largest strip mall. You should be ok as you don't sound like a critical thinker. Sit back and watch some Faux News and try to keep Bush in office! ha ha ha
You're an idiot, he was being sarcastic. This is for the news and is about the crime and ridiculous stuff that happens, he wasn't saying how "cool" it is, dumbass.
most of the crime is in pine hills and west of orange ave, the central downtown area is just fine. If you don`t believe me look at a crime map most murders and robberies are in the OBT area and pine hills.
seriously? you think the financial district has as much crime as CRIME HILLS itself? tee hee. thanks...i could use a good laugh....ahhhh...hehehhe...ahhh....oh man. seriously? ahhh.
I see this everyday, Considering the fact that I live here I take it for granted <3.
But yea for everyone who want's to know about downtown, It's no front it is wreck less
Lots of fights, murders, etc its very crazy and very real.

most of the crime is in pine hills and west of orange ave, the central downtown area is just fine. If you don`t believe me look at a crime map most murders and robberies are in the OBT area and pine hills.

Go to the Orlando Sentinel and check out the new feature they have. You can check out the crime in the Orlando Area. It backs up what I say.
