the quote is actually "(catch falling cans of...),,,baked beans on toast ,technology is the most. Sorry for being pedantic, but agree with you on the DTNB version, Privte Hell on there is my personal fave . The way the feedback screeches over thumping bass...excellent
"I was making some toast/technology is the most" -- brilliant!
Love this song. This version is awesome but think the definitive version is from the live album "Dig The New Breed." Come to think of it, that whole record is awesome!!!!! How come these guys never really made it big in the US along with The Beatles, Stones, The Who, Led Zep, etc.? My opinion is they sounded "too English" if there is such a thing -- that is what makes them fantastic. Anybody from the UK with a theory? :)
how the fuck do people get tickets to see gigs like this . iv been following weller for years seen him over 50 times .....anyone see that asian guy on the frigging blower w.t.f......
Paul you broke my heart in 82 even sold my Lamby GP150 !!, the new Lp is superb see you in Liverpool Dec 2010 last saw you Manchester 82 finally decided to forgive you, God bless your Dad and thank you for the inspiration at the Liverpool Empire 1978.
@cwolfe74 sorry but unless weller does a u-turn, he will never speak to rick buckler as long as he has hole in his arse.....his words by the way !!!! weller played stuff to rick that he ended up using in TSC and rick said it was crap. That was the start of the end of THE JAM & paul's friendship with rick buckler. He's of course made up with bruce foxton but rick is far from that planet?????
I agree with people who say weller can play whatever of his songs he chooses, but he direly needs some decent backing musicians for Jam songs.. it just isnt the same.
great tune, some elements of johnny thunder by the kinks in there
