the first takedown call i dont get....the ref called the two AFTER churellla got off his hip. the ref didnt call the two before that, though, when it actually looked like a takedown. i agree with the two points, just the timing of the call.

one of the best finals i've seen. i was rooting for churella, and thought he did have a lot of a lot of bad calls against him (especially in the 2nd part of the match), but credit to hendricks - he's a beast and doesnt stop.

Maybe in technicality, but that nearside cradle was one of the surest college pins I have ever seen. Just look at the arch of his back and chest, there is absolutely NO WAY his shoulders weren't nailed to the mat.

CHURELLA PINNED HENDRICKS! What kind of referee would not see that? He's supposed to be close to the action isn't he? When I saw this match on television I counted Hendricks' shoulders down for six seconds. After viewing this video again, it may have been five. But it was definitely a fall for Churella and the decision should have been protested. What also bothered me was that after the bout Hendricks ran before the audience, waving his arms and smiling.

this is not only an example of poor officiating, but also one of where the ref was influenced by the crowd. i can actually see how he could call those takedowns, that was questionable. but churella had hendriks FLAT AS A BOARD with that cradle at the end of the 2nd. the correct move be the official would be been to come to the side and check for the pin, but he didnt

I've never seen such poor officiating at such a high level. The ref only awarded 2 backpoints as opposed to 3, and awarded two takedowns out of bounds when there wasn't control. The ref took the match from Churella.
