  • Very helpful, thank you!

  • awesome video! thanks so much

  • I have Mitsubishi verada 1998 .. Plz tell me how to unlock sterio of it... Plz

  • This was helpful, but it's not necessary to remove the face plate of the radio. thanks

  • my stereo got blocked, it doesnt let me put in a code, what can i do?

  • @DB91809

    Get a aftermarket deck

  • this was extremely helpful. I had my radio working in 30 minutes. Thanks.

  • thank you!

  • THANK YOU This is very helpful the pace is slow but then again you have to be slow when you explain tings to people because the population is DUMB.

  • hahaha is this a what not to do video? a general rule of thumb, if your auto repair involves a butchers knife and removing a bunch of plastic thingies you may want to pay the $100.

  • WOW Lady, thanks for the video, but you move WAY TO SLOW!!!

  • and theres the radio numbers

  • or you can just check the numbers on the inside of you glovecompartment

  • Just did it and you don't have to remove the faceplate to remove it. Dont remove the faceplate. Start here:First take the console cover taking those 2 screws at the bottom first, then the other 4 from the radio then take the radio out.... then youll see the radio MR number and serial. Ohh its really hard to take those first 2 screws because theres really no space to move around for the screwdriver to reach the screws. I used a small regular screwdriver to reach them.

  • @evanes1990 just check the inside of you glove compartment and theres the radio numbers

  • This is a great DIY video for Eclipse owners. I recently changed my car battery and realized that my computer was reset, which affected my stereo. After watching this video I was more than capable of performing this simple job. You don't have to pry the faceplate off, you just have to unscrew the two screws under the console, which requires a Phillips-head screwdriver. The only two codes you need from the stereo are the "Serial number" and the "Part number," which begins with the letters "MR."

  • I do installations for car audio. And I swapped my own radio. All you need is a screwdriver. Unscrew the two bottom screws and lift out/up gently. Prying off the faceplate is basically unnecessary scratches and damage to dash. But a nice video in all.

  • @connectionwordd there is 2 clips on the edges take a flat head n Gently pry the clip out n then it will come wright off if u need a visual description go 2 CLUB3G.COM n search how to remove the clock pod n the dash piece she took off is the radio bezel

  • @theeshzznitt if by dash u mean the entire thing it is kind of complicated if u dont know wut your doing and takes awhile but if u need any info on your 3G eclipse got to CLUB3G.COM u can search ur question there n get every answer n learn alot about ur car

  • thanks a lot for a detailed n simple explanation...im now searching ways/methods to remove Mitsubishi Diamante radio....as i need to enter the "code" for the same....!!

  • This is such i good video :D

i recently bought an eclipse and had to get the radio code and the owner said it would cost from 30 to 20 dollars and if you do what she does, you dont have to pay a signal dollar

    Thanks again!

  • Thank you so much for showing how simple this really is. I have a 2002 Eclipse Spyder and it's almost exactly the same. I did find though that I did not have to take off the face plate.

  • Thanks for your instructional video. I must comment on your calm relaxing voice. Have you ever thought about doing relaxation tapes. Its a big market. Being in the mental health field, i should know.

  • what does unlocking your radio do?

  • iv'e beentrying to take of my dash on my 02 eclipse and icant lol if u know how to or know any info about it can u or any1help me??????????

  • Thanks , I was able to get serial number from my car radio. I called our local dealer and he gave the code for free .

  • great vid but all u needed to do was remove the center console to get the code

  • Thanks Girl, I love you you saved me 150 bucks. I'd gladly donate 100 to your fav charity for this. Everyone with a Mits has had to deal with this. What a great video.. :)

  • wats the code???

  • @jleon41167 Its different for every radio.

  • Does this work for the clock to? my clock says "code"

  • Thankkkkk youuuuuuuuu very very very veryyyyyyyy much....u r a veryyy nice laddyyyyy....luv ya...thanx. God Bless

  • Why do u need a radio code.. I don't get it.. What's the purpose of the code..

  • @Guerito4life If the battery gets disconnected b/c you get work done or need to replace the battery etc it resets the stereo somehow and the stereo has a "anti-theft" system which uses the code. So basically you have to enter the code for the stereo to work at all...

  • @MoonBunnyStudios - Thanks for letting me know... Good thing I have the code in the owner's manual.. Its a yellow card.. didn't know what it was for.. Thanks

  • Do NOT take the faceplate off...you can break tabs and it is suppose to stay on.

30 year mechanic and done this hundreds of times

  • @rbrewer47 so how do we have to do it..thanks

  • Thank you for taking the time to put this together. Probably saved me a college student fortune ;)

  • Awesome! Thanks a lot my friend.

and Thank God for give us Youtube!

  • Hi I am about to purchase a 2000 Eclipse GT that needs the code and I wanted to know if this video applies to that year and model as well?

  • @ltl100290 thats what i want to know

    :(

  • THIS IS AWESOME VIDEO!!! GO GIRL!!!! :) Thank you so much for sharing very helpful!!!

  • @YFabu let me just say that it took me 3 people do get the code. One guy said that he could not give it to me over the phone cause of security purposes. The second guy said that he needed to charge me. Called another one and he did not even ask me for a vin # or anything else and just gave me the code. So, people keep calling to you get someone that will help you! :)

  • @YFabu what was the number of that guy who gave you the code

  • you dont have to remove the face of the cd player to remove it, you can just pul it out

  • hey great job, i just do it and it really works, but u dont need to remove the face . all you need to do is remobe the two screws from the bottom and the four screws from the stero, once this done call 1888648782008, fallow the instruction and wait for the assitence they will ask u or the vin them for the serial number on top of the stereo, and that will be all . do it your self and save 80 bucks jaaaaaaa

  • Hi ty for this detailed video gret job! Question? I have a 2003 eclipse gs, just a few days ago the CD Player stopped playing, the radio is ok,but it now shows a code ER 02 ..and it will not play CD at all,i did run a cleaner cd on it but no avail any suggestions??? ty

  • good job. the internet at its best

  • hey i was just worndering if your cd player plays mp3 cd? thanks so much

  • You don't need to remove the face of the radio.

Please edit your video, it's unnecessary and you risk damaging the radio.

  • Just replace the head unit on an '01 Eclipse with the Infinity system. It has a factory installed amplifier under the passenger seat. Huge pain in the ass.

  • thx

  • very good, thanks.

  • This is a great video! I had to install a FM Direct Adapter for my wife's XM radio and I had no idea how to get to the back of the radio to do it. This video was just what I needed. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thank you so much for this!! you don`t know how helpful this video is for many people!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

  • however... you are great and thanks.... 5 stars

  • this was great info.. I just did it for the first time... but you DO NOT have to take off the face plate... just the large plastic thing..

  • all you had to do is remove the the large plastic piece first ,instead of the faceplate for the stereo first

  • I just pulled the two screw out the bottom and could read my code. Thanks it worked great

  • why did she take the front stero cover???

that wasnt necessarry. you will fuck up your stereo like that

  • you should be able just to take the two screws ojut and the whole center peice comes out and you can access the radio and all of that stuff.

  • ay wats da code just give it 2 me pls

  • this helped a lot. thanks

  • if the dealer dont want to give you the radio code,if you have the radio serial #,you can get it in ebay for 20 bucks,it work really good for me (you dont need the VIN # of the car)

  • great thanks:)

  • Mitsubishi 2000 eclipse. worked very similar. only had to remove the faceplate (with a knife) and the big dashboard cover (screws underneath) to get to the serial number. didn't have to pull the metal casing out of the dash. The numbers closer to the edge of the radio was the serial for me. The top numbers were just the model.

  • That was very helpful, Thank you

  • also, if you don't want that same old stereo, you can buy a newer one, you just have to buy the connection cables to the back of the stereo that hook up to the car. is an easy instalation you can do it yourself so you won't have to pay for it to be done...

  • just thought i might say that it is not necesary to take off the stereo's face, all you have to do is un-screw the two screws on the bottom as she explained.

  • thank you u just saved me 485 bucks, i was about to get a new radio for my mitsu eclipse 2002 =)

  • thnk u that really helped me out

  • well im planning to buy 2000 eclipse gt, but the radio is not working. So im thinking this is the problem, that the cars radio is locked. So i hope i buy it and i will follow step by step that you provided. The instructions are amazing, easy to follow. Thank you!!!

  • Thank you kindly for the *very* clear instructions and excellent demo! Good karma to you!

  • This was easy and they really were nice on the phone. 2 screws is all it takes. I read the seriel and model without even taking off the faceplate. Thanks

  • Man this is great! The video makes it look easy and I'm telling you, it is easier than it looks! I didn't have to take much apart to slide the radio right out. She is right, call them, within about 45 seconds you have your code! Viola'! Fabulous and man is it a money saver! Thanks for the info!

  • what do you actually need the radio code for once you have it? i'm trying to install an alpine stereo I bought a few months ago. i cant just unhook the wires and splice them to the new wire kit?

  • great video man, i'm from venezuela and i have THAT problem, and you help a lot, thanks I Really mean it

  • THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!

as soon as i saw this video i did what you said and i got my stereo working, i've only had my 2001 eclipse for 2 days and the stereo never worked but now it does..... thank you!!!!

  • Nice Video, On my '00 Eclipse you can see the radio S/N by just removing the 2 screws under the large ductwork, heater controls, and radio Bezel. The S/N is visible when bezel is moved to the side. You do not need to touch the radio faceplate. Pete

  • Thanks for the video !

I recently figured out the serial # of the audio system in my eclipse based on this video. But, I found out that I didn't have to remove the front plate or even pull out the sytem. All I had to do was to remove the two screws as you mentioned and pull the front black cover out. Serial number is clearly visible at this point. Once again, thanks for the video !

  • Thanks!!! i was about to waste time going to dealer

  • Thank you so very, very much... LIFE/ WALLET SAVER......
