@powerlifted I'm taken aback by Serge's story . . . as an admirer of bodybuilder Frank Zane, I was guided to this video from a reference in a comment posted on a video about Frank. It's eerie, a bit, to learn that Serge just passed away less than a week before I learned his name, and further to find he wrote an autobiographical work describing settings in his own life that in some respects are similar to my own. May the next life be good to him; I'm going to see if I can find his book.
@Tigerpaws9097826 yep, Surge and i use to talk for hrs, well he would talk i would ask questions lol.. but there was so much information that would come from this guy, and to see him, with all that ripped muscle talking about all this interesting things, was simply amazing, and a delight to have experienced, i remember when i was 17 working at a gym, and staring at his photos for hrs, and he seemed larger than life, then actually meeting him, and becoming his friend was a trip to say the least
@powerlifted Powerlifted, I've been a huge fan of Nubret for 20 years. I just learned of his death, so my condolences. Bodybuilding lost one of its true pioneers.
I'm curious, since you knew Serge, if the rumors of how he trained are true: very high sets, rep-style training with moderate weights, etc. Thanks!
@rationalmuscle Yep, its true, for the most part, surge and i use to do situps for hrs non stop, he did 1600 of them one time and made his ass raw from it, he dieted very hard, was always hungry, we use to use izameride, a really cean meth, thyroid, and about 3 different anabolics, triacana, some of his stories about what he used and the amounts he used them in freaked me out,and i told him wow its a wonder youre alive, he just giggled, he was very committed and serious
@PattyCakesahoy yes instead of a few hundred milligrams of several different roids its a few grams, as well as HMB creatine GH IGF Insulin aminos thyroid ect, its scary shit :) but impressive what guys will take to try and prove they have the best built body lmfao@ these guys, and they act all arrogant like they are all natural hahaha, far from it, it boils down to who has the most money and best connections and willing to put that level of MGS into their body, its not the training for sure
@RayfieldA There was meant to be more clips but he went to hospital months later which stopped me from making more of them. I have still quite a few clips of Serge training if u take a look, there are also more on Youtube and he has a training DVD.
Saw Serge first at the NABBA Universe around the early-mid 1960s. Got his signature...saw him again many times at the same venue for the next 15 yrs. . In 1977 his abs were so sharp they looked they were chiselled from smoked glass! What a posing routine he had. A real gentleman and classic b'builder.
according to the last rumors and some statements by his friends he actually was poisoned by his own children (his daughter - an anesthesist - took care of him while he was in hospital and obviously almost drugged him to death) to get his money and some land.
It's said that he is on his way to recovery, but actually no one knows if there is some long term damage he is going to carry away. Lets hope the best!
Your mother would be so proud if she could see you now. What happened to that innocent babe that sucked at her teat? BTW, does your mother need plastic surgery?
@steroidsR4losers Youre just another butthurt tard, that took steroids before time and time again, and still looks like shit,,, probably even has a bad case of bitchtits!!!! everytime we see you, we will think that about you! now youre all butthurt twards roids, and you have nothing to show for it,
Serge is gona live 4 ever in our hearts anyways! i look as good as i do largely from what surge taught me, diet, and training, its not good to go heavy all the time, but good to train hard always! and food is the #1 reason people get sick, because they eat way way to much!
stfu bitch im working out and i will keep doing it if i can live to be 70 and look like that well lets say its gonna be my luck if not well 2012 will take us all :)your prob one of those people fucked about mc'donallds that r stuffen like a pig and need to calls other the same to feel better :( i pithy u ..go out and make sum exercises
On March 19 2009, he was discovered home, in a coma by firemen. He was immediately transfered to the Lariboisiere hospital. Since that, Serge Nubret is under the supervision of the hospital's medical staff. For now, the diagnosis is a
hypoglycemic coma probably due to a malfunction of the pancreas. The explorations continues while Serge Nubret is in rehabilitation
Could anyone tell me what muscle this exercise is working? I've been looking for another exercise for latissimus dorsi other than lat pulldown... Preferebly one that doesn't involve your forearms to the extent that once you've fatigued your forearms, you can't work on your lats anymore.
Thanks VanDammage. I actually got the chance to try this exercise the other day(in Sweden) and it felt good, but the last couple of days I haven't worked out at all, since I'm visiting my brother in Paris, where I believe this footage is from! It's a small world;-)...
That's a lat movement. I would suggest dumbell pullovers. They were one of Arnold's favorites and they have worked great in getting me width, also, behind the neck wide-grip pull-ups. Hope that helps.
Hello Everyone - Hopefully good news. Serge seems a lot better. He is opening his eyes and responding to conversation by squeezing hands. He still can't speak yet, but lets hope he is now well on his way back.
have just found out that Serge Nubret has been in a coma for the last 3 days in Labroisiere hospital in Paris hospital! His daughter said that until now the doctors have not found what caused this. Aparently he came round briefly this morning but he had very little brain acivity. They are now keeping him sedated and continuing tests. Serge had just achieved 4% bodyfat at nearly 16 stone at 70 years old and had agreed to guest pose at the 2009 Mr Olympia contest
RIP SERGE

I bet everyone blabbing about roids is a nerd with a 100lb bench.
If the guy knows what roids work best, he surely does know how to train.
A guy taking sustanon only could be taking roids but not doing it well and sucks at using them AND lifting.
So, if a guy uses roids intelligently and trains with the right program he has earned it, and knows very well how to train, period.
