Lacey has said in many a interview that just because they're all Christian doesn't mean they're a Christian rock group. They say that they want their music to reach out to anyone who is willing to listen, not just the Christian community.
I only wrote my long comment cuz I think it's ridiculous. They're a music group, which means they're here to make music. It doesn't matter whether they're a Christian band or not. They'll make whatever music they want, and either people can accept it, or they don't, but if they don't like it, then they don't have to listen. It's as simple as that.

to me, in this album you have to listen to the songs and really think about them to hear the religious aspecet. and i like how they made it a story line. the cover doesnt have the lyrics, but "journal entries" from The Commander. its really cool.

The band members are Christian, and their beliefs influence their songs, but they don't think that neccesairly makes them a Christian band. Flyleaf stated that themselves, so I don't know why people call them a Christian band.

When i was a baby my dad dropped me and when he did he felt the back of my head and it was soft so he took me to the hospital and the doctors took an x-ray and decided i had a skull fracture and to go ahead and plan my funeral but just in case they sent me to another hospital to get it checked and on the way there...
I criticize no one for liking or disliking Flyleaf, but if you're a Christian, you've got to admit there's a fundamental problem with Lacey Mosley's thinking. She doesn't want Flyleaf to be called a Christian band. I have to ask then, is it? Because when I compare this kind of talk to the sort of talk I find in other bands like, oh I don't know, let's say Newsboys or DC Talk, then we's gots problems.

well said. i personally have a few issues with catholasism, and i still a big fan. love the music and the message seperately. if you need both, then your music diversity is narrowed to a straight line. and it is annoying when someone likes them because they are christian instead of because they are a fucking awesome band.

to you, it is and absolute truth. to us, it is an ideal. the basic ideas are good, but the details, and the absolutism is something to question. instead of making up a thousand explainations, and killing because you believe you are right, why not say we believe that this man was a god, and let others believe as they will. that is my personl idea of religion. it should not be an absolute, but an ideal so that everyone can form their own opinions.

I did not mean it was about killing. i mean that people kill others every day because they have different beliefs, and i have felt from many strong believers(priests mostly) that it is wrong to believe anything other than what they believe. the extremeism is rediculous. belief is a beautiful thing, but not if it is forced on someone. these arguments about religion are the things that really trip my trigger. these people who are supposed to love and accept just show themselves to be hypocrits.

An atheist is a person who doesn't believe in God at all.
Agnostic is where they don't know (I say I don't know if there's a god or not because I can't prove this) and just don't really care about religion at all in general.

my parents saw two angles but they looked like normal people and they told my mom that i was going to be .o.k. so they touched my head and then the doctors took me and took another x-ray and said i had nothing wrong with me...my skull looked completely normal when before i had about 3 cracks in my head...
Well the proof is all around you, those of us who have experienced healing are told there are other explanations. There are just as many non-believers as there are believers and what i consider proof some will debunk with a far fetched excuse. You are looking for overwhelming proof but until you open yourself up to it you wont find it, Thats why it is called faith, no one can decide for you only you can do that. The first cousin had two x-rays done before surgery. The first one showed all the bullet wounds and bleeding. The second one showed nothing so the surgery didn't happen. As for my second cousin he had a near death experience and saw a family member. Family was praying the whole time in the hospital,power of prayer

When i was a baby my dad dropped me and when he did he felt the back of my head and it was soft so he took me to the hospital and the doctors took an x-ray and decided i had a skull fracture and to go ahead and plan my funeral but just in case they sent me to another hospital to get it checked and on the way there...

I criticize no one for liking or disliking Flyleaf, but if you're a Christian, you've got to admit there's a fundamental problem with Lacey Mosley's thinking. She doesn't want Flyleaf to be called a Christian band. I have to ask then, is it? Because when I compare this kind of talk to the sort of talk I find in other bands like, oh I don't know, let's say Newsboys or DC Talk, then we's gots problems.

well said. i personally have a few issues with catholasism, and i still a big fan. love the music and the message seperately. if you need both, then your music diversity is narrowed to a straight line. and it is annoying when someone likes them because they are christian instead of because they are a fucking awesome band.

Actually it does have to do with hell.
Jesus told a story of a rich man who let a poor man die hungry. The died and rich man cried out to the poor man who had brought up to "Abraham's bosom." The rich man wanted just a drop of water to moisten his dry lips. The poor man told the rich man that he couldn't because there was an impenetrable chasm between them.
This song is a direct reference to that story.

to you, it is and absolute truth. to us, it is an ideal. the basic ideas are good, but the details, and the absolutism is something to question. instead of making up a thousand explainations, and killing because you believe you are right, why not say we believe that this man was a god, and let others believe as they will. that is my personl idea of religion. it should not be an absolute, but an ideal so that everyone can form their own opinions.

You say the basic ideas are good. The basic idea of christianity is that we should love God and love others, and that since none of us does this good enough, we are all sinners and need a savior. The word "christ" means messiah or savior, and christianity is the belief that we need to be saved from our sins by God, and to live a life of love and compassion and nonjudgementality toward others. It IS NOT about killing (since Jesus said, "Love your enemy, do good to those who hate you)

I did not mean it was about killing. i mean that people kill others every day because they have different beliefs, and i have felt from many strong believers(priests mostly) that it is wrong to believe anything other than what they believe. the extremeism is rediculous. belief is a beautiful thing, but not if it is forced on someone. these arguments about religion are the things that really trip my trigger. these people who are supposed to love and accept just show themselves to be hypocrits.

I am not saying I feel passion nor do I 'see' him through music. Though I see how this either existent or nonexistent may have an effect on others. Obviously, Church and 'God' changed Lacey immensely. She used to be a drug addict and through this 'unseen power' she was cured. Of course, I don't believe that it was God, but her own belief and faith that cured her.
Btw, I'm Agnostic, not Atheist, so I really don't care much.

my parents saw two angles but they looked like normal people and they told my mom that i was going to be .o.k. so they touched my head and then the doctors took me and took another x-ray and said i had nothing wrong with me...my skull looked completely normal when before i had about 3 cracks in my head...

Well the proof is all around you, those of us who have experienced healing are told there are other explanations. There are just as many non-believers as there are believers and what i consider proof some will debunk with a far fetched excuse. You are looking for overwhelming proof but until you open yourself up to it you wont find it, Thats why it is called faith, no one can decide for you only you can do that. @hanbree My cousin got shot by his own dad and the bullet hit some vital organs and my other cousin got shot in the head, and the third one got shot in the heart and died immediately. The first cousin had two x-rays done before surgery. The first one showed all the bullet wounds and bleeding. The second one showed nothing so the surgery didn't happen. As for my second cousin he had a near death experience and saw a family member. Family was praying the whole time in the hospital,power of prayer
