I like Ron Paul, but he doesn't support the federal enforcement of the separation of church and state. No federal enforcement would basically allow states to turn into mini-theocracies. I cannot support a candidate who will not protect the government and the people from religion.

@SGC17 The only way something like this would happen is if the citizens and the state government wanted it. You might be surprised; governments don't like to share their power with churches. Besides, most States have adopted a form of the Bill of Rights into their State Constitutions anyway. What Ron Paul really wants to be able to do is give Churches the ability to be more active in the community through charity work that benefits the public without having the Supreme Court controlling them.

But if we do something like this in an organized way it seem to me it should be a clear, singular message against a government policy and not tied to endorsing a candidate. @420gma The bottom line is this; when someone is forced to pay for something they don't agree with, it is theft. If you believe you need help from the government, the government has to get that money from somewhere and unless it is donated it is taxed. If the people who are being taxed don't agree with how the money is used it shouldn't be used that way. It doesn't matter if you think it is right or wrong.
@420gma There is an easy solution to this however and it would have to be slowly implemented. It is called voluntarism. If we made taxes voluntary and allowed individuals to say where they want their taxes to go then you'd probably see an increase in charitable donations through voluntary taxation. This is the real way to get around coercion and still provide for the less fortunate in our society. People don't like being taxed, but when it is optional they don't feel cornered.

But if we do something like this in an organized way it seem to me it should be a clear, singular message against a government policy and not tied to endorsing a candidate. I think that's more in line with the tradition of civil disobedience that Dr. Paul would support. So, if we just write "End the Fed" or "Bring our Troops Home" I think that would emphasize the message not the individual. Thoughts?

@420gma The bottom line is this; when someone is forced to pay for something they don't agree with, it is theft. If you believe you need help from the government, the government has to get that money from somewhere and unless it is donated it is taxed. If the people who are being taxed don't agree with how the money is used it shouldn't be used that way. It doesn't matter if you think it is right or wrong.

@420gma There is an easy solution to this however and it would have to be slowly implemented. It is called voluntarism. If we made taxes voluntary and allowed individuals to say where they want their taxes to go then you'd probably see an increase in charitable donations through voluntary taxation. This is the real way to get around coercion and still provide for the less fortunate in our society. People don't like being taxed, but when it is optional they don't feel cornered.

I've also built homes for low income families who cannot afford nice places to live with a group called Habitat For Humanity. I am a volunteer writer for my local newspaper and enjoy informing the community about important matters absolutely free. I've also protested the shutdown of local homeless shelters. Don't assume you know who people are; don't be prejudice please.

Well one way to help Paul to end the Fed is to use cash for everything you can.Don't give them the opportunity to earn interest.To bad that if everyone went to the banks and asked for all their money in cash it would be like a run on the banks and end up hurting some people.The more people use ATM cards,Credit cards and checks the easier it will be for the Feds/Government to usher in a cashless society/the embedded chip.To bad all the other candidates welcome the idea of a cashless society.

When the demand for gold goes up, the purchasing power of gold goes up. This is the same as pricedeflation of goods compared to the goldcurrency.
