what defines crosby from ovechkin is performance in pressure situations. look at the 2005 wjh championships, look at game 7 of the 2009 playoffs, look at last night's shootouts (crosby won the game for canada; ovechkin missed twice with chances to win the game for russia). i'm not saying ovechkin is a bad player or a choke artist, but i find crosby to be more reliable when the pressure is on.

Lindstrom is the best defender in the world and his main role was to get off the bench every time Crosby did. Erikson, Datsyuk, and zetterberg were all told the same thing. Zetterberg is amazingly smart and Datsyuk is one of the best two-way forwards in the league.

crosby's overall game is better. he's more defensively responsible at both ends of the ice. vision is better. passing abilites are above and beyond. puck control is better. getting pucks along the boards, he comes up with them like 90% of the time. ovechkin has his shot power and physical play in his game but that's all he really has over crosby. both are extremely powerful with there skating strides too. though i'd say crosby has the faster acceleration from stop to go.

what defines crosby from ovechkin is performance in pressure situations. look at the 2005 wjh championships, look at game 7 of the 2009 playoffs, look at last night's shootouts (crosby won the game for canada; ovechkin missed twice with chances to win the game for russia). i'm not saying ovechkin is a bad player or a choke artist, but i find crosby to be more reliable when the pressure is on.

Ovechkin is a good goal scorer. But in order to win the cup you have to a complete team. That means that no one on the team can be selfish at all. That's been proven time & time again..DETROIT, PITTSBURGH, CAROLINA, etc. Most likely, you are going to have more goals than any one else when you are taking 500 shots on goal per year. Crosby didn`t rely on Malkin in the playoffs but, rather, it was the other way around. Crosby and Malkin only play together on special teams and Crosby was putting up massive numbers on his own. When the Red Wings amassed an army to try and stop him (Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Lidstrom, Rafalski), Malkin played against the weaker defensive lines and dominated.

Getting assists is not easier than scoring goals, stupid. Have you ever played hockey, it depends on the player. For some, scoring goals is easier than getting assists. It is a LOT easier to score goals like Ovie than making teamates score, when your wingers suck as Crosby's. His line doesn't have good players like Ovie's line.

Lindstrom is the best defender in the world and his main role was to get off the bench every time Crosby did. Erikson, Datsyuk, and zetterberg were all told the same thing. Zetterberg is amazingly smart and Datsyuk is one of the best two-way forwards in the league.

If it was playoffs and Crosby broke his nose, he would come back in, but during the regular season? Why risk further injury? OV has the size to show his hard nosed hockey, Crosby doesn't. crosby's overall game is better. he's more defensively responsible at both ends of the ice. vision is better. passing abilites are above and beyond. puck control is better. getting pucks along the boards, he comes up with them like 90% of the time. ovechkin has his shot power and physical play in his game but that's all he really has over crosby. both are extremely powerful with there skating strides too. though i'd say crosby has the faster acceleration from stop to go.

first of all +/- just means he plays on a great line. most of malkins goals are set up by crosby because crosby is so unselfish and doesn't take 15 shots a game like ovechkin. crosby is a better team player, he's very unselfish with the puck and sets up plays that result in goals instead of trying to do it all himself like ovie. and you're really looking too much in to ovechkin's hitting abilities. they're really not that great and a lot of them are cheap, don't deny it

how can you tell me that crosby a forward is the best when mike green who plays D has 50pts 22 goals and 28 assists with a +\- of 27...he plays fuckin D he shouldnt have more goals then a forward, or even be close to them in stats. yet he has more goals and a better +\- . if crosby is so fuckin sweet how come malkin is crushing him in stats, how come hes not on top of assists or pts??? well considering that crosby was injured for awhile i'd say it doesn't mean much...and ovechkins hits are normally a result of him taking a late run at someone or finishing a check very late, and those are the clean ones. i'll admit that i would like to see crosby take some more shots, but i'd still take him over ovechkin...but you're entitled to your opinion...and you're right, i think malkin is having a better year than both of them

Ovechkin plays to win wether he scores 4 out of his teams 5 or scores 0. he does what he needs to do to get the W. crosby is too focused on being the set-up man when he could call his own number every now and then and put the puck in the net. i've seen crosby pass the puck many times when he has a wide open shot...if he continues to play like that for the rest of this season, the pens will have a tough time just getting the 8th seed.
