SkyWayMan90 - good observation.... the start stop distance for almost everything but a light single engine is out in the Valley well off the end, so the key is thorough engine runup/mag check for a piston, and all engine instruments in the green for a turbine, power to 85 % before brake release, anything rough in the first 500 feet, abort. otherwise run off the end of the runway, instant 2000 ft agl as the runway is carved off the top of a mountain. Nose over, eng out landing in field below.
@gekopvlieguigen Mountain Air is the name of the airport. It's about 10 km SE of Burnsville, NC at 35 52N 82 20W. It's a private facility prior permission is required.
True...but your original comment was uncalled for. How are you to know if he is type rated for single pilot or not? For the sake of argument let's assume the guy in the right seat IS a co-pilot. How difficult is it to simply hold a camera up and still scan the panel and raise the gear. This isn't a flippin 747 man, its a Slo-taiton!
Nice view from up there! Where was that airstrip? Were you flying a citation x?

it's not hard at all....until something goes wrong and the faa asks captain america what his decision making process was like.

what a great copilot....video taping instead of monitoring.
beergut111 2 years ago
The Citation 550 is a single pilot aircraft, therefore no co-pilot necessary, sir.
The guy video taping might as well be a passenger.
