additionally if anyone already owns a glock 21 or 21(sf) then just visit the glock site and purchase an complete upper reciever for a glock 20... it's exactly the same frame fit.. just make sure u get the complete upper.. since the barrel and spring etc.. are specific.. for each caliber..
the glock 20 is a great side arm, especially if your HOG HUNTING or in an are that has grizzlies... u get a couple of 15 rounf high cap mags loaded with powerful factory ball ammo for your glock 20 and your good to go..
your handloads seem to have more flip than the others, double tap as of late, has been way way under stated velocity, like 150-200 fps under.
McNett can keep it.
might i suggest underwood ammo, 26 bux for a box of 50 165g JHP, at1300 fps, they actually meet and excede stated velocity, sometimes some shots read 3-7 fps over stated fps.
Very impressive handling while fireing the 10mm. Impressed. That said. I love my Glocks and would never just drop them down on the table like that. In fact. I only lay mine down on a pad. The glock is the best shooting firearm period. Have owned every caliber available. Down now to my favs. 10mm and 357 sig. They Rock !!!
Hey, been looking into the Glock 20 and saw this today. I realize this is the most powerful incarnation of the Glock, but how much more recoil does it have over the Glock 23? More of a difference than the 23 has over the 19? Just trying to guage it... Also, never heard of Georgia Arms until now, so what is your opinion of them? Looking at the prices of their Canned Heat, I was considering giving them a shot...
essa muniçao tá mais barato ke no brasil,,,kkkkkkkkkkkkk eita politico do inferno!! vao acabar com o trafico de armas cara em vez de dezarmar á populaçao d e bem!!!!!
lol. listen to the shots. The first clip with double tap bullets has 11 rounds in it, the second clip with georgia arms bullets has 14 rounds in it, and the hitckock load clip has 13 bullets in it.
Revolvers have less then 9 bullets in em, so does the 50. calibre desert eagle. It just depends on how big a clip you want to get and how much money you want to spen replacing ammunion
arent you worried about ricochets, surely firing at a metal tin and into the ground less than 30 metres away is just asking for a ricochet, whether its part of the bullet or a stone to come fizzing in?
Sir, if i see how you shoot the Glock 20 in rapid fire, i do not understand, that the FBI is saying the regular 10mm has a to strong recoil to shoot doublets. Is it realy a only matter of handsize, or about the technic to control this powerful handgun? Is your handload a weak one, or do you load it strong?
@hickok45 have you had any feeding issues at all with the 10mm? iv got a ton of .357sig's and thinking about converting over to the 10 eventhough not to many make an auto pistol in that chamber
@enricad that thing costs $5, they're everywhere. second thing you wanna call him an american asshole while he's holding the most powerful glock handgun ever produced? a round so powerful the FBI stopped using it?
A good after market compensator like the one made by Lone Wolf reduce the recoil significantly making it as easy to shoot as a 9mm. And having a +2 base plate for 17 rounds makes more room for your supporting hand to control the recoil.
im amazed at the control you have on that gun while shooting those 10mm's...but tell me is the 10mm recoil as bad as they make it out to be or is it like maybe a .40 or .45 i have yet to shoot a 10mm so could you tell me what you think of it...thanks
Fantastic control. That Double-tap 10mm is monster stuff. The Glock 20 is designed to take some of the bite off the 10mm but even then it's tough to accurately fire quick shots like that. Guess it helps to have lots of experience and big hands :)
@MrGlocknload i was thinking about picking up some underwood, any kind you recomend or like to shoot the best? Looks like gunbroker has some different loads, range and home def
What do you think of hard cast copper plated bullets. There's a local MFG here in Hamilton, ON, Canada who sells .40 cal, 180 g for $126/1000rds. That's $0.26 CAD per round.
overpenetration is not an issues with 10mm, for me i like the fact that there is no place in my home that you can hide from me. you come in, you get blasted period.
The Double Tap rounds seemed to produce the snappiest recoil, probably due to Double Tap's tendency to load hot rounds. Even their 180 grain hollow-points are moving along at over 1300 ft./ sec. out of a Glock 20, approaching .357 Magnum ballistics. Perhaps these are a little warmer than your handloads...
whoa. nice recoil control for a 10mm. i can shoot 9mm with it barely moving but i've never tried 10mm or 45acp. which has less recoil. i know 45 is more of a push and 10mm is more of a snap but which one is more in general
Im turning 21 in a week.. I want a good pistol.. More for a finishing gun.. I have a 300 Remington ultra mag and shootin white tail in Louisiana it shoots so fast its like a knife through butter.. So i have had to rope my deer and cut their throat.. and I was looking for a good easy light sidearm.. Do you recommend the Glock 20 over a Glock 23 .45 cal or Glock 17 chambered in .40 cal?
I still wonder why this round is not very popular among the firearms community or law enforcement. It's powerful (legal for hunting white-tail deer!), seems to have manageable recoil when used by experienced shooters, and the Glock can hold 15 + 1 of them. Seems strange that the FBI complained about the recoil and made a reduced recoil load when hickok seems to handle it just fine.
Hi Mr. Hickok Id enjoying see you doing a video on the FN 5.7, You being the master bullet slinger should be able to test that handgun as well as anyone
I own one but dont have any place anywhere near as awesome as your range to shoot it, So I really dont know its capabilities
@robloxguggi The simple answer is that a "regular" round refers to a full metal jacket, which maintains it's original diameter all the way through the target. In this case, the bullets refered to as "solids" by hickok are full metal jacket .400 inch (4/10 of an inch) and stay that .400" diameter even after exiting the target. The hollowpoint refers to an expanding bullet that exits the barrel at the same .400" but begins to expand inside the target and will often exit the target 2x the diameter.
Ok, I guess maybe I need to take up reloading huh? ha. Enjoyed your 100th video also. You have quite a vast variety of firearms.... hard to keep the drool off the keyboard. LOL
Hey there Hickok. Just purchased a new 3rd. Gen Glock model 20. Have not even had the chance to fire it but am dying to get to the range. What "cheap" factory ammo would you recommend for plinking at the range? And where would you recommend buying ammo in bulk? I did buy a box of the Hornady155gr. HP/XTP hollowpoints for when I CCW. Keep up the cool videos! Love 'em!
@bigorange1986 , I don't know of any "cheap" factory ammo. It tends to run high. I handload most of mine, so I don't have much experience with factory ammo, except some Double Tap that I have.
if you want to shoot that thing cheaply, buy a .40 s&w barrel (from lone wolf or some other) and shoot .40's. that's about the only way unless you load your own.
@bigorange1986 cheaper than dirt has bitterroot valley 10mm ammo for just over $20 a box of 50 that's as cheap as your going to get brand new fmj 10mm ammo.
I enjoyed this video quite a bit, I personally have a .45 ACP Astra A-100, which I enjoy quite a bit and I love the big .45 cartridge. but the 10mm seems to be quite the powerful load as well, I was wondering how the 10mm compares to the .45 ACP.
Hey Hickok35! Love my Glock 10mm's!!! Glock 20 my absolute favorite gun! 10mm my absolute favorite cartridge! Thanks for the videos... love to watch 'em. My 20 is my CCW. A good IWB holster and gun belt; Double Tap Barnes XPB all copper 155 grain hollow points. Easy shooting and a great defensive round for civilians and LE.
I have a question for an expert or for someone who used American Eagle 10 mm FMJ 180 grains in the past. I would like to know if this ammo would be enough to defend yourself against a black bear.
@lonerangersheriff , Probably a good general recommendation; however, I think it depends on how much a person shoots. That's the one piece of information I always like to know when people ask me about whether something recoils a lot or not. For people who don't shoot much, a 9mm can seem to recoil a great deal, whereas for people who shoot a great deal with large caliber, a .45 doesn't seem to recoil much.
@hickok45 Hey Hickok, i was wondering if you ever gave any thought to getting a 9x25mm Dillon barrel for your Glock 20, and if so, what are your thoughts on that caliber. Im asking because i accidently ordered the 9x25mm barrel when all i wanted in a stock glock 20 6" barrel, i dunno how i did that... So im wondering if its worth keeping.
@hickok45 I really do enjoy your videos sir. I'm was thinking about getting a Glock 21 for the longest time, but started thinking about the Glock 20. I was curious if a fully loaded Glock 20 is lighter than a fully loaded Glock 21? In general is 10mm ammo as heavy has good ole 45?
@lonerangersheriff I agree with you. Hickock 45 is a shooting expert. He's as handy with a firearm as they come. A well placed 9mm is much better than an errant 10mm fired from someone who is jerking the pistol or flinching due to fear of recoil.
I disagree on the .45, however. I find the 45 to be a pretty smooth shooting cartridge in the right pistol. The 40 and 10mm pose more challenges.
@lonerangersheriff the glock 20 doesn't carry much recoil. And yes i would be very cautious using it as a people defense firearm. Its more over a hunting/wild animal protection. In several states it can even be used to hunt whitetail deal with a 6" barrel. Or you can conceal carry in the woods also. I would stick with watered down hollow points, if I had to use it for home defense, strictly on the basis of over-penetration. The 45acp is a great man stopper, but is far from a hunting/woods gun.
Where I'm from, there is no such thing as accountable law enforcement. You don't think so? go to KOB.com and check out the current events in my city. A county sheriff was caught speeding and running red lights, and he was not cited. We have had seven people shot and killed by the PD this year, and I'm wondering why the hell they are not working harder to subdue suspects with non lethal force, or at the very least to not shoot suspects with a whole magazine.
Would you recommend the 10 mm for a self defense/home defense cartridge? There's no denying the sheer power of the 10 mm, I was just wondering if one would have to worry about over penetration with it.
I've shot a few animals with the 135gr Double Tap hollowpoints. They created massive wound channels, fragmented completely within a few inches of flesh, instantly incapacitated and gave minimal recoil. The only one that went all the way through was on a small rabbit.
@ThaddeusMcSpalding good home defense cartridge is .45 ACP, largely because it dumps so much energy on impact- its actually a rather slow round, hence the reason may HRT teams to include the FBI uses it and it was the original caliber issued for 1st SFOD-D
Hey Hickok Just bought a G21 slide for $360 from Glockmeister because 10mm ammo is so hard to find.BTW that was cool watching you blast real 10mm ammo. The Federal 10mm Hydra Shok is loaded to 40 S&W level. You should do a vid on that so people realize that the G20 & G21 are so compatable.
After my own experience, and after watching videos like this, I can't imagine why people think the 10mm has 'too much recoil'.
I can literally empty my 15 round mag as fast as I can pull the trigger with combat accuracy out to 25 feet. Less recoil isn't going to make a difference.
Don't recall everything in the video, but I was probably referring to the fact that hollowpoints are way too expensive to plink with at steel or paper. They are designed for defense. Any old cast or FJM bullet is fine for target shooting.
Hey Wild bill, looks like your 10mm and the DT are similiar. The G/A is little milder,,lil! I watched couple times and I would DT/HK/GA in that order of spicy.
I posted this before, but what earmuffs are those?
We can't get enough of the G20. Sorry it is expencive, but we want more 10mm, we want more 10mm, we want more 10mm, we want more 10mm, we want more 10mm, we want more 10mm, we want more 10mm, we want more 10mm.

Love 'em!
bigorange1986 1 year ago
@bigorange1986 , I don't know of any "cheap" factory ammo. It tends to run high. I handload most of mine, so I don't have much experience with factory ammo, except some Double Tap that I have.

@hickok45 Do you ever chronograph ammunition?
Fightnight92 7 months ago
@bigorange1986 I recommend georgia-arms "canned heat." Cheapest on the net.

@bigorange1986
if you want to shoot that thing cheaply, buy a .40 s&w barrel (from lone wolf or some other) and shoot .40's. that's about the only way unless you load your own.
toshindodisciple 10 months ago
@bigorange1986 cheaper than dirt has bitterroot valley 10mm ammo for just over $20 a box of 50 that's as cheap as your going to get brand new fmj 10mm ammo.

I enjoyed this video quite a bit, I personally have a .45 ACP Astra A-100, which I enjoy quite a bit and I love the big .45 cartridge. but the 10mm seems to be quite the powerful load as well, I was wondering how the 10mm compares to the .45 ACP.
ElijahYoder 1 year ago
Hey Hickok35! Love my Glock 10mm's!!! Glock 20 my absolute favorite gun! 10mm my absolute favorite cartridge! Thanks for the videos... love to watch 'em. My 20 is my CCW. A good IWB holster and gun belt; Double Tap Barnes XPB all copper 155 grain hollow points. Easy shooting and a great defensive round for civilians and LE.

Hickok. What's your hand loads? Can you make a video on them please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wdgoings 1 year ago
I have a question for an expert or for someone who used American Eagle 10 mm FMJ 180 grains in the past. I would like to know if this ammo would be enough to defend yourself against a black bear.
Thanks !

@lonerangersheriff , Probably a good general recommendation; however, I think it depends on how much a person shoots. That's the one piece of information I always like to know when people ask me about whether something recoils a lot or not. For people who don't shoot much, a 9mm can seem to recoil a great deal, whereas for people who shoot a great deal with large caliber, a .45 doesn't seem to recoil much.
hickok45 1 year ago 11

BullRonin 10 months ago

The 45acp is a great man stopper, but is far from a hunting/woods gun.

emotionally prepared for recoil? How do you emotionally prepare for the recoil of your weapon sheriff?

Where I'm from, there is no such thing as accountable law enforcement. You don't think so? go to KOB.com and check out the current events in my city. A county sheriff was caught speeding and running red lights, and he was not cited. We have had seven people shot and killed by the PD this year, and I'm wondering why the hell they are not working harder to subdue suspects with non lethal force, or at the very least to not shoot suspects with a whole magazine.
trapstar918420 1 year ago
Would you recommend the 10 mm for a self defense/home defense cartridge? There's no denying the sheer power of the 10 mm, I was just wondering if one would have to worry about over penetration with it.
ThaddeusMcSpalding 1 year ago
@ThaddeusMcSpalding , That's a controversial subject with all sorts of opinions. You'd just have to study it and decide for yourself.

@hickok45 Alrighty, thanks for your time.
ThaddeusMcSpalding 1 year ago
@hickok45
I've shot a few animals with the 135gr Double Tap hollowpoints. They created massive wound channels, fragmented completely within a few inches of flesh, instantly incapacitated and gave minimal recoil. The only one that went all the way through was on a small rabbit.
The12lber 11 months ago
hi @hickok45 i just purchased a desert eagle 50.cab and i like the gun but what about you what other weapon do u recomend me to purchase!?
zerrierslizer1 9 months ago
@ThaddeusMcSpalding good home defense cartridge is .45 ACP, largely because it dumps so much energy on impact- its actually a rather slow round, hence the reason may HRT teams to include the FBI uses it and it was the original caliber issued for 1st SFOD-D
HerrStutterNuts 1 year ago
@HerrStutterNuts Yep, you can't go wrong with the .45. Especially with some Ranger T-Series ammo. lol

KurNorock 1 year ago
Not as much recoil on those Georgia Arms ammo.
I just ordered 300 rounds from Atlanta Arms for my G23.
Several people telling me that I can't shoot reloads in my Glock.
Pinstripedtie 2 years ago
About the only people I've met who can really shoot well shoot reloads in almost everything, especially Glocks. They shoot more!

@hickok45 you say bad use of hollow point bullets in your video..well what would be a good use of these bullets?
rdcstyle6612 1 year ago
@rdcstyle6612 ,
Don't recall everything in the video, but I was probably referring to the fact that hollowpoints are way too expensive to plink with at steel or paper. They are designed for defense. Any old cast or FJM bullet is fine for target shooting.
hickok45 1 year ago
just don't shoot any cast bullets out of your stock glock barrel.

Hollow point has a hollow point and is used by police and civilians for self defense. It's usually pretty hot ammo.
