  • Thank you for the tutorial i find this helpful

  • THANK YOU MAAAAAN! SUBSCRIBE OF COURSE!

  • you're the man, thanks bro.

  • thank you friend

  • FUCK..YOU FUCKED UP MY GENERATIONS

  • @Syeedthehedgehog Why, what happened?

  • @glitchmastermario NVM, I fixed it by running in administrator

  • @Syeedthehedgehog Glad it works again ^_^

  • it doesn't work.

  • @Super53herbie Can you tell me anything else? Maybe a error message given or something like that.

  • @glitchmastermario sonic generations has not started.

But I've already found out the error itself

I had to run it as administrator.

excuse me if that is not correct written

    I used google translator.

  • When i click Run, it says something about the graphics configuration file not being found. I open and save the graphics and it still says that, someone help!

  • @subterratorterra I think this has happened to me before. Exit out of DxWnd and open up Sonic Generations normaly. If the game comes up, it should work, so exit out of the game, open DxWnd again and run SG from there.

  • @glitchmastermario Nope still not working. I think it might be the shadow mod i have installed, but i dont know.

  • @subterratorterra I don't think it would be the shadow mod because that was made for the PC version. There might be two other things

1.Do you have the screen size on DxWnd the same as the config. for the game?

2.You said something about a configuration file, in the folder the game .exe is in, do you have GraphicsConfig.cfg ?

  • @glitchmastermario 1. Yes, i tried that.

    2. Ive found it, but what do i do? i cant open it with 7-zip

  • @subterratorterra I was thinking since it said it couldn't find a graphic configuration file that it might have not been there. I'll try looking around for a solution, but right now idk.

  • Thanks!

  • BE THE FATHER OF MY CHILDS

  • You are awesome!

  • Excellent fix, my friend. It worked to perfection ;)

Thanks for making your walkthrough so detailed, it made everything super-simple.

  • very helpful. thanks a lot

  • where do we get sonic generations

  • @TheAnimeking00 On Steam. It's basically a online game store where you buy a game and it downloads automanically to the computer without you having to put in a disc. Just search up "Steam" on google and click the first link where you can download and install it. When you finish installing, click store and search up "Sonic Generations". It's about $20.00 less then the XBox 360 and PS3 version :D

  • mine wont open! help

  • @TheSuperSonicFan01 It depends on what type of error you had with this, this is the one I had:

    1. "Steam manager isn't running" Run steam, close dxwnd, then open again

I remember having another one, but I can't remember it and I couldn't reproduce it

  • @glitchmastermario it wont give any error,it just wont open

  • @glitchmastermario NVR,IT WORKED! THX A LOT GMM!

  • It works great, though with no sound. It's been properly configured too =/ the SEGA intro video does have sound, but not the rest of the game, it's weird as hell. Do you have any idea?

Anyway, thanks a lot for the tip =D

  • @metvincent idk, that never happened to me before. The only thing I see that has to do with sound in the options is under "Surface handling" there's something that's called "Pitch Bug Fix", but I'm not sure it will work :\

  • @glitchmastermario Nevermind, my sound card drivers were glitched. It works like a charm now.

    Thanks again for replying.

  • Thanks man it worked like a charm. Now I can capture my gameplay and upload them as speed runs

  • Now I'm having trouble with the resolution. I set the window size to 800x600, then the resolution to 800x600, but it's squeezed together, and the window isn't the right size. When I tried to change the window size, it wouldn't change at all, though dxWind said it had changed.

  • @NitghVision I'm not sure if this will help, but maybe change in the Sonic Generations config. widescreen to letterbox or visa versa.

  • @glitchmastermario

yeah, ive tried that, it didn't work. Although I have been getting used to the slightly squashed screen, and its not too bad, its really only bad at the title screen.

Also, the windowed mode is only for now, cuz my computer is awesome, I just chose a crappy processor on accident, and need to upgrade that.

  • Do I have to have DxWind out every time I want to go into windowed mode? It's been a problem for me.

  • @NitghVision Yes, and you have to run it from the program, otherwise, the program won't do anything with the game and the game will decide to go full screen.

  • @glitchmastermario

Aw well, it won't be too much of a problem I guess.

  • Worked wonderfully. Thank you!

  • What is the mouse to screen fix part? In the video it's cut off by the window you put on top of the text.

  • @CrazyEnzo03 Oh, the part cut off just said "This is what it will look like" or something like that, otherwise, mouse to screen basically keeps the mouse up. In full screen mode, you can't move your mouse around, with this trick, it would still do this, so with this, it will allow you to still move your mouse around to get on the internet and stuff like that while the game is running.

  • Thanks a lot for this video. Work's great now.

  • oh and now my save data files are deleted = /

  • @Madeen to the first comment: did you change the size in the game's config too?

to the second comment: hmmmm, that never happened to me before, did it happen because of this though?

  • @glitchmastermario Ok updates. First comment you're right, had to change it in game as well. Second, its because the application allowed me to launch the game without being connected on steam, disableing my save features. i loged and its all good now, frapsing 60 fps. props to you sir

  • @Madeen Ok, that's good to hear. Don't forget give thanks to the people at the steam forums too :)

  • Say mate, it works fine, i get the windows mode but its not going 1280 x 720, no matter what values i put in its in windows mode but with a 1920 x 1080 value, what sup with that ?

  • Worked for me too :D thx. allowed me to reduce the resolution alot without losing quality

  • Nice working!

  • Awesome tip! I have 2 monitors and this helps alot.

Theres a way to play the game without auto pausing it while using another task? like dunno chrome? tryed several options but doesnt seems to work, pauses everytime :\

  • @strawhatpt I think that's just the game, before I learned how to do this I had to minimize it with a task manager and it still paused after that, so it's definatly not the DxWnd. I'll see if I can find anything about stopping it though.

  • @glitchmastermario

I tried the option "Do not notify on task switch" and even installed power menu to activate "always on top" window option and still nothing, probably its a game thing and cant be changed, damn :\

  • Worked perfectly. Thank you so much :D

  • @xayaxxo No problem :)
