  • Is the one with short black hair, Miranda oldroyd?

  • they're able to kipping pullup their children from danger

  • I heart Fran

  • Awesome job ladies!! Keep up the great work

  • Awesome work ladies. Man, a lot of people like to drink the Crossfit Haterade. They're just sad because you can lift more than they can, and you can endure the painstorm that crossfit brings during a workout.

  • @NoModifyNinja beat me to it lol

  • You girls ROCK!!!

  • yeeeeeow getting it done ladies awesome :)

  • thats some powerful bitches!!!

  • chick in the white shirt... super tight adductors

  • These woman are amazing.

  • "They are able to pull their children from danger."

    lol.

  • @dnj86 why is that funny?

  • well done ladies.

  • cross fit= lets do ridiculous repertions, work too many muscles to push any one area to the limit and promote growth, mix cheating high impact and weight training together. joints are like break pads it feels fine til its worn out except you cant replace joints

  • @msfattytrollbitch crossfit haters= fat lazy people who couldnt run a full mile without stopping and sit on the computer trying to dog people

  • What weight are they using ?

  • This video has a bunch of hot women doing front squats, and I think I saw one of them do a pullup once. Just thought you should know. But seriously, if you weigh 135lbs be careful.. they could throw you around for hours.

  • I've never heard of crossFit before this video. These women are SPARTANS! I love it, am inspired, and going to try this workout tomorrow at the gym.

  • they're kinda hot :)

  • nice going! name of song?

  • i get it, and i appreciate the hard work. my wife a month out from her first BB show, her cardio is far exceeding my own.

Can these ladies knock out sets of 10 wide grip pull ups from a dead hang? can they do them w.out the body thrust? yes, i understand these are kipling's and meant to be that way, but i'm just curious about the previous question.

also for those squat to presses, that isn't a 45lb bar w/ a 45plate per side is it?

either way, answers would be great, but keep kicking ass!!!!

  • FUCKING WOMAN! GO MAKE SOME SOUP! OR WATCH SOME MOVIES FROM XIX Century. THATS HOW WOMAN SHOULD BE!!! OR FIND A REAL MAN WHO CAN GIVE YOU A MAD FUCK CHALENGE!

  • @Unzaman You couldn't handle my soup or how I fuck! You wouldn't provide me this "fuck challenge" you speak of and I wouldn't have any interest in making you any soup when you couldn't protect me! You aren't a real man and you don't know what a real man is! FYI for your stupid ass a real man doesn't spend his time eating soup - what the fuck really? a real man is strong enough to handle a real woman clearly your pussy ass isn't a real man!

  • Elbows up!

  • GREAT EFFORT! For all the haters...get off your computer and go get functionally fit. What you will find at every crossfit gym is the goal of general physical preparedness with safety and form first then effort and determination . You will also find it to be one of the most supportive environments and communities you can imagine. All exercises are scaled for the appropriate level and health of the person working out. Go to a crossfit gym tell them you are new, and see how you are embraced.

  • @DCAMFitness I bet, "functional fitness" is the first and the only known to you word. I bet, before starting CF you'd been either 1) Fat unfit kid or 2) Globo gym goer doing everyday bicep curls. The fact is you are one who knows nothing about fitness and all you know are learnt by heart CF phrases, also, you're paying big $ to totally unprofessional coaches, you strive to do "fran" faster and compromise form. CF is just an oriented to Average Joes brand in the good old world of CROSS TRAINING,

  • @valgez1 where exactly do you get your professional training? I bet I do Cross Fit and neither of the options you mentioned fit the description of my fitness level before Cross Fit. Following the basics of Cross Fit can get you results without injury. I was an elite gymnast so I know about fitness and also ran marathons, Cross fit gets results without injury you don't have to do it super fast and sacrifice form - people seem to forget they have free choice in life how they eat, work out, ect.

  • @MrSteveface All you say is true, but with one catch: CF is just a Brand Name of the enterprise created by Glassman. All those principles had been known long before Glassman was born and it's called Cross Training, - when I mix power cleans, weighted pull-ups and dips, running, swimming, rope jumping, etc... i don't do CF, I'm just training. What I surely don't do is those silly kipping pull-ups :-). What i can see on CF promo videos is terrible form - quick way to injuries.

  • I love Fran

  • Why not just do regular pull-ups? You should never lay down after a workout most everything here is going to cause injury, good luck

  • @loopba Regular pull-ups are great, but very inefficient. Kipping pull-ups work more muscles in your body and not so much focusing on just your arms. They definitely make pull-ups easier and better for your whole body. That's the point of CrossFit: functional full-body workouts that will actually make you stronger and more able to handle any loads in your day to day life. Also, I've been doing CrossFit for about a year, and I've never seen anyone get injured who was using proper technique.

  • @wetwilly0 People don't do pull-ups for the sake of efficiency - people do pull-ups for building upper body strength and endurance. Regular pull-ups DON'T focus on "just arms" - back muscles are the main once you know how to activate them. What marketing genius and great psychologist Glassman is! And what ignorant and gullible the majority of CFers are! Want efficiency? Do Parkour or Movnat - go and climb trees, walls, roofs, fences - let's see how your kipping is gonna help you.

  • You should see their snatches. By snatches I mean their cunts.

  • Creed sucks. These women rock.

  • I thought women onely suffer from men??

  • Serious question: I'm 25 kg( 50lbs or so) overweight. I'm planning on losing this excess weight in the near future(6 month period)

If I start training now, real focused and learning the crossfit moves after the 6 month period of weightloss, could I make a attempt to compete in a crossfit comepetition in 2012? Pleas let me know cause I'm really seious about this and I just love the concept of Crossfit! And yes I also want to be Fit as F*ck!!! :)

    Thanks!

  • @fayamundo imo, u definitely can in 2012... u can compete in regional games and stuff... the most important thing is your mentality... crossfit f**k u up mentally.. those who succeed in crossfit games are those who have high determination and dedication.. all in all... NEVER GIVE UP! good luck =]

  • @monkeyzbutt cool thanks 4 da heads up!

  • The girl with the "emo" hair is Miranda Oldroyd. She is a CrossFit HQ trainer and a major badass.

  • @mcpilot100 Miranda IS a major badass she was one of the trainers at CrossFit Indy Shield where I got my CF-L1!!! CrossFit rocks and so does Miranda!! I was a personal trainer in a "regular" gym b4 I discovered CrossFit and I know for a FACT that 99% of your high fiving douche bags in that atmosphere couldnt come close to FRAN even with the womens prescribed weight!

  • I'm curious about how much weight they are push pressing....anybody know?

    You look great ladies!

  • @darahox They use standard CrossFit 10lb bumper plates so 65lbs except for the girl in the pink who is at 85.

  • Comment removed

  • @SuperTongpo the silver bar that the girl in the pink has is a Technique Bars they weight 11 Lbs. Ii belive all the other bars maybe womens bars which weight 33 Lbs. so add 40Lbs to the Technique Bars and 20 to the womens bars and you get 51-53 lbs

  • @darahox Those are thrusters, not push presses.

    Sorry, OCD kicked in. ;)

  • I can barely recognize these as women, as most women in the USA have the body mass of farm animals. Hmm, there is a very strange, almost instinctive attraction to these women; this be studied further- because I have zero attraction for obese women (the majority)...

  • I would do it in much more time! :\

  • im tired just watching this hahaha these women are badass! the song not so much...

  • nice to see men sidelined for once in a gym setting like this. you women are phenomenal

  • The one in the black hair and black outfit has some nice abs. Would love to see a vid of her flexing em.

  • Last time i tried fran i got 7:13 but that was when i was 16 i havent done fran in 2 years...

  • I was :O when I read women's RX is 65. I'm female and I do 85 .. I train single (with PT) he kept telling me I was good but I had no idea LOL Right ON!! Thanks for great video and extra affirmation :)

  • The form on those pullups is not good - it shows that they need a spotter to do the exercise correctly. If you have to swing that much you need a spotter or quit when the form gets that rediculous. If you watch closely you can see lots of locking joints; let's see how their joints react in five years.

  • seriously impressive, except for the pull ups which seem pointless done that way..

  • @nomatesman Pointless if you're bodybuilding. Not so much when you're working towards functional fitness. I've never seen anyone in the real world use ONLY their arms and back when scaling something. THAT would be pointless. :-)

  • @xjmwx You are applying the logic that the best way to train power in swinging a bat, is swinging a bat. However, swing a bat a thousand times and you will not increase the strength of the swing. Instead, lift weights in the gym, and the power of your swing increases immensely. Point in case, I do correct pullups, and I can execute wayyyy more kipping pullups then my friends who only do kipping pullups. Get me? (I did over 100 in less than 4 minutes, with full extension a couple weeks ago)

  • @Tim2of75 Different type of strength, kipping pullups won't work as well as many methods in developing power to hit a baseball. It's simply Force x velocity.

  • @jkininji You are simply wrong, it is not a different type of strength. They both utilize fast twitch muscle fibers, momentum, and full body movement to create the momentum. The fact is, there is nothing effective in strength training about the kipping pullup. Xfitters only do it because it gives instant gratification because they can do a lot of them right away. EGO coming into play with them, once again. It is quite simply, a cheated pullup. Same principle as swinging up a dumbbell in curls.

  • @Tim2of75 Increasing the ability to hit a ball harder is not as simple as you are making it out to be. But I did misread your statement as I thought you were supporting kipping pull ups.

  • @Tim2of75

well they are not called pull ups they are called kipping pull ups. they activate the same muscles as a strict push up but not as tough. Some WOD' contain strict pull up then you can't kip if you wanna do it RX. Movement is important in cross fit I think that's more likely the reason than ego. They helped me doing strict ones anyways so big up for the kip.Why are people hating on cross fitters for?

  • @Tim2of75 Please post a video of your 100 kipping pull ups. I'd love to see it. That's a pretty incredible number to be putting up for a non-xfitter. That's getting close to Speall. As a former bodybuilder turned crossfitter I have to disagree with, well, all of your logic and comparisons. I'd be willing to bet that you don't use a weight belt or lifting straps either since they reduce the "effectiveness" of your workout. Oh and we dont do bicep curls in Xfit so....

  • @dewalt109 and @evilbengt

Hey please do all of us a favor and let idiots like tim2of75 put in their 2 cents (so he can feel like a real man by justifying bicep curls and walking on the treadmill) and leave it at that. Don't waste YOUR time or energy on douchebags.

You'll never change their mind because these type of people are very ignorant and don't back up anything they claim ie the douchbag has no vids of what he can do, but claims all sort of stuff.

    100 pulls? hahaha ya right.

    3 2 1 go

  • @mimicosfinest 1. Walking on treadmills? Punk I can run a 5 minute mile on any given day. 2. Whenever I need to feel like a real man all I need to do is remember the 5 combat deployments I did as an Army Ranger and the family I support. I don't need to "post vids" to prove to anyone that I am a real man.

And on to you calling me a douchebag- I'd love to see you say that to my face. Now go ahead and say on here that you can kick an Army Rangers ass. Lets hear it champ.

  • @Tim2of75 Hey internet tough guy, do you feel better now? hahaha

  • @mimicosfinest Troll.

  • @dewalt109 I'm just coming off of six weeks in Thailand when I read all of these, so I just went to the gym to see if I could still do it- I did 70 in 4 minutes so I definitely need to get back in the gym. In a couple of weeks I will try and get a camera and make a vid of me doing over 100 in 4 minutes.

  • @Tim2of75 Tim I'd like to introduce you to my friend olympic lifting. This time old tradition has been used by athletes for years (hi d1 pole vaulter here) to train for what could easily be put as "a different kind of strength". ignoring the laws of physics for a moment here (also an aere e) kipping pull ups serve the same function as assisted pull ups, or light weight movements. It's a bit better because youre using your body instead of a machine, try a clean and jerk youll see what i mean

  • @madmardygan "ignoring the laws of physics for a moment here" What do you mean by this? There is nothing the human body can do which breaks any single law in physics :S

  • @danfrost313 Yeah though it depends on your understanding of physics, viruses are more viral in space and that one took forever to figure out, (quantum physics are a b@@@@). Anyway I agree with you and wasn't trying to "ignore the laws of physics" as in breaking them!! but use more than just physics to justify my argument, as my intended audience would probably respond better to the later.

  • @madmardygan Yeah I know enough about quantum physics, it's one of the areas I study the most :P

Nothing a *human* does can bend the rules of physics as I said, although as we know many items in quantum physics are breaking the rules of 'regular' physics xD

  • @danfrost313 good on you mate, he world needs more scientists, cheers!

  • @madmardygan Buddy where do you get off "introducing me" to olympic lifts? You're smart as attitude isn't necessary to convey your point.

Anyways, your supporting my statements man. The assisted pullup machine still maintains proper form it just reduces weight- thus the proper muscles are still engaged, directly. Kipping pullups only utilize the muscles long enough to build momentum, and then kinetic energy takes over.

  • @Tim2of75 Sorry for the attitude but I'm not supporting your point I'm disproving it. kinetic energy doesn't "take over", it's constantly there and only changes with speed, as mass and gravity are constant. You're doing more work without the machine and spreading it to different muscle groups. Additionally you're argument is still ignoring the benefits of olympic lifts, clean and jerk, snatch, all extremely high momentum high weight lifts akin to a kipping butterfly

  • @Tim2of75 As far as the physics goes, the movement builds both momentum and kE as the only changing variable is velocity. Energy is work, thus the total work done or energy created is greater. a kipping PU will work your strict pull ups muscles about 1/3 the norm, but to throw it out would be ignoring the lifts I mentioned in my previous statements benefits. Kipping PU are great for you, I do a combination, 80% kipping and in about a years time have gone from 0 dead hang muscle ups to 10

  • @madmardygan Or you can look at the extremes. Rob Wolf for example had a max chest to bar dead hang weighted pull up of 95 lb without a kipping program. A bit later with kipping pull ups he was over 160 lb if memory serves. You can argue all you want but you can't deny higher energy with higher velocity i.e. more work, and you can't argue with repeatable solid results.

  • @Tim2of75

Of corse that would mean you could do more reps but if you complete the movement with a lot more speed surely that would translate into a comparable intensity only covering a wider range of muscles?

  • @Tim2of75

Bat swinging? Same work in less time = increased power output. They're moving the same object (their body) the same distance (chin over bar), but they get more work done faster than someone whose muscles give out because they're doing strict pullups

I do strict sets of deadhangs, as well, so I'm NOT saying kipping > strict. I'm just saying they serve a different purpose (much like the strict press differs from the jerk)

  • @nomatesman well, thats called KIPPING and not as easy as it seems... :)

  • @nomatesman

Crossfit focuses a lot on power, which means that a certain fluidity and speed are necessary. Dead-hang pullups are better for developing the back and arm muscles, you are correct. However, kipping pullups work the neuromuscular systems associated with the pullup motion better, allowing for higher gains in percentage of recruitment of muscle fiber. My point here is, there is a point to kipping pullups.

  • @russianr0cket08 All that still does nothing for developing greater strength in that movement. If you want to train your ability to do tons of kipping pullups, do regular, proper pullups. Then when you are doing your FRan, you can do all 45 in a row like me without a break in motion.

  • @Tim2of75 I would also say practicing your swing is far more important than lifting weights for timing, muscle memory and even improving the explosive force necessary to hit the baseball hard.

  • @jkininji Definitely. You're right. The timing and accuracy can ONLY be trained by swinging. All that power is for naught if you miss the ball.

  • Fantastic! These ladies rock.

  • WOW, these girls are both HOT and motivating =) I see the air force flag in the background, anyone know where this Crossfit is??

  • WOW, these girls are both HOT and motivating =) I see the air force flag in the background, anyone know where this Crossfit is??

  • interesting that the girl in the pink shirt that finishes last is the only one that actually gets high enough on all her pullups.

  • 1:23.

I love six packs on women..

  • y'all rock! I workout at Cape Crossfit in Cape Town, South Africa and we're doing Fran as a baseline workout 7 April, then again 2 months later with a competition for fastest times and most improved. I can do the thrusters no problem but still trying to work myself up to a single pullup, gonna be jumping pullups for me, though seeing your pullups give me reason to train harder. Thx!

  • I'm a pretty fit dude and I'm not up to sets of 135 on thrusters yet. Way to go ladies.

  • @nosmotronic they're not doing 135lbs, those are rubber weights.

  • Ha oh Ok thanks. I guess I feel a little better then and a little dumber at the same time.

  • Actually they are 25 lb bumper plates. For this workout, it's usually RX'd for women at 95lb for the Thrusters. I believe for men it's RX'd at 135. It's one tough ass workout that's for sure

  • nice jop girls hallo from crossfit ansbach germany,,,,very hard workout nice..bybybyb kiwi.very fit fit girls sorry WOMAN..

  • Great. Nothing sexier than a strong, fit woman.

  • @OmarBhoo

Yup. Strong, fit women are the shit. Forget about not eating, starving yourself. Hard work and dedication...

  • Good job, ladies!

  • i dont know if i should be impressed or if I should criticize.

  • amazing, and they look very beautiful as well. Inspires other women, to do crossfit as well

  • Amazing. Those thrusters always wipe me out...

  • Inspirational

  • I dont like skinny ass women

  • @merfist001

    those arent skinny

  • Way to go ladies!! Keep on killing it!

  • These women have strength and endurance. This combination is rarely see in any personal sports discipline. They are able to pull their children from danger. They are fun to be around. They do not drain our healthcare system with chronic diseases. The fill a classic definition of a strong woman. The many posts about muscle mass and total strength are moot. None of that matters without a cardiovasular system that can handle the work of the skeletal muscles. Celebrate these driven women!

  • @genkishooto "The many posts about muscle mass and total strength are moot. None of that matters without a cardiovasular system that can handle the work of the skeletal muscles."

That is probably the most clear, correct way I have ever heard or seen that point made, and I agree. If you can outrun a guy that benches 400lbs. guess who the bear is eating in the woods first? Awesome, these chicks kick ass.

  • @genkishooto i wish you to fuck every night a musculmassed dumb, not femininily horse(wife), that will fart under the blanket every fucking night! You all MAD HERE, WHO THINK THAT THIS IS THE IDOL OF WOMAN !!!

  • @Unzaman What's wrong tough guy. You're mad because you're not able to keep up with these women! Haha!!

  • The average womans condition for muscle growth is less than that of a man. But that dosent meen that individuals cant outperform others, regardles of their gender. You go girls!

  • You guys are awesome. Keep it up.

  • I think this is inspirational for both men and women. More so for the lazy guys who aspire to be strong. Look at these dedicated women do this ferocious workout. I think it's hot!

  • You go girls! It's so pathetic that whenever women are shown on YouTube who possess athletic skill, there are always men who have to berate knock em down or patronize. Even those who might compliment, sometimes have to throw in a pointer or two. Guys are you that insecure?

  • LOL top vid. Very nice group and box there...

And i TOTALLY empathize with the blonde lass in the blue top on her pullups. Been there done that :oD

  • Comment removed

  • A pound of muscle = a pound of muscle. It has the same maximum contractive ability no matter if it's on a guy or a girl. But crossfit is in no way a display of strenght. It's all about technique and endurance.

    Nice girls btw ;-)

  • gplex is right. women, pound for pound (in other words, in regards to strength proportionate to weight), have more potential then men. as do all lighter athletes with good muscle to weight ratio.

  • I never said that I said p4p females = males in strength.

  • haha whatever you get the idea.

  • Watch children on the play ground, girls are urge to not get down and dirty. Anyone watching a male vs female fight can clearly see there is a skill difference, not a strength difference.

There is also testosterone level difference which masks pain - so males feel less physical pain then females.

  • women have no endurance huh, how was your dumb ass born, probably under the condition known as LABOR which lasts hours, gee who's wearing ass hat now

  • them sum strong ladies.

  • Woman are weaker than Men. That is a fact. Don't compare the pull ups you see here with mens. You just can't compete with the opposite sex. It ain't gonna happen. Men are stronger.

Therefore, these woman are doing the best they can with their given genetics, and its very impressive. But lets face it, woman just don't have the endurance as men do.

  • LOLOLOLOLOLOLO....you must be a weak one to throw a comment like that!!!

  • None of these girls look more then 100 pounds. From my experience, women seem as strong as men, at lease pound for pound.

  • sometimes it does seenm that way, but in the spirit of crossfit, discusstion is meaningless copetition is proof (seen that banner at CF 2009 games) but in wrestling, BJJ, open submission grappling, bopxing and kickboxing, they have has the exibition matches between a man and a same weight female opponent. The ladies gets beat. Many times it is the #1 lady and some no name guy and the guy wins. Ladies can be and are tough, but real world P4P shows guys win the pound for pound athletic ability.

  • Fighting takes skill, and males tend to pick up more skills when they are younger, this leads to a difference when they are adults.

  • really? i can't believe there are male fighters out there willing to hit women.

  • Pound for pound of muscles men and women have the same ability (only women tend to have less muscle...)

But testosterone in a little jar is a great equalizer :))

  • You are a freaking idiot...The men do the same kipping pullups which are maximum capacity pull-ups using your entire body for this workout.

We don't have the Endurance!!!??? I have done this WOD side by side men and I was right there with them every step of the way.

Why don't you walk your ass into a CrossFit and do the workout with the men and the women and see how much strength and endurance you have.

  • They seem a lot stronger then many of my manly friends ;)

  • I like the blonde chick with the pixie haircut....smoking bod...looks like she has a cute face too.... ....actually, they are all kinda hot.

  • The thing with crossfit is its making all the 'certified' personal trainers and long time gym rats realize that they really have no clue about real fitness so of course theyre going to bash it, its not what 'muscles and Fitness' writes about so it MUST be wrong!

  • excellent........people..no negative stuff......these ladies are in pretty good shape........commenting on form...shows your lack of knowledge in the context of crossfit......they are great examples..ALL WOMEN and MEN should do crossfit...it would help out our healthcare system...and make us happier people

  • These girls are awesome. This is so inspiring. I hope one day I get this good. Keep it up ladies!! :)

  • Good job Ladies. That was tight. Good work.

  • u must not know a lot about crossfit. they are doing thrusters and they are doing them right. the pull-ups are supposed to look that way. crossfit pull-ups use a little more momentum then normal pullups. u can go to crossfits website to look at videos w the proper form. they did good

  • no...even for kipping pullups those suck

  • You is slow.

  • Great Job Ladies!!!!

    I'm really loving Crossfit

  • NICE! Way to represent the 801! Today was my first crossfit WOD and I'm hooked!

  • Mens RX weight is 95...women's is 65. We were all doing women's RX. My time on this WOD was 4:13

  • @fitnessmiranda...oops...that's what I meant...95 and 65 :) Nice work

  • their not doing RX weight.....its suppose to be 95lbs

  • Awesome effort guys. I have been doing crossfit bout 2 months and im still trying to get under 4:00 my best is 4:21.

would be great if you could post some times on, maybe next video......

You're an inspiration keep it up

  • What are the details of the workout? How many reps of thrusters? How many pull ups? How many rounds?

I really want to try this. :)

  • 21 thrusters, 21 pull-ups, 16 thrusters, 16 pull-ups, 9 thrusters, 9 pull-ups

  • Wow! I'll have to work up to that. :)

    Thanks

  • yeah spot on

  • 15 not 16

  • i take it this is a crossfit in SLC?

  • Nice work girls!!!!

  • 65 lbs probably

  • how much weight?

  • Usually women use 65lbs and men use 95lbs.

  • It's 95lbs... 2, 25lb plates and a 45lb bar. If you pause it around 2:54 you can get a good look at the plate. When I first saw the size of the plates I thought they were doing 135lbs! :)
