  • LOL@09:30,.,. Early Europeans in the 16th century? Europe has been around quite a bit longer, i'd say.

  • A substantial and informative talk. But Waldseemüller´s collaborator, the humanist and cartographer Matthias Ringmann ( !482 - 1512 ) should be mentioned. There is a certain probability, that Ringmann corresponded with Vespucci and proposed the name AMERICA.

  • a pretty fascinating talk, but unfortunately shows a lot of limitations in presenting this on video and as a presentation, instead of an interactive, zoom-able experience.

  • I hate it when people assume America = North America = USA. America is the whole continent, and its inhabitants are Americans.
