To the ones, asking what haki is, Haki is what Shanks used against that monster, when Luffy was a child. Haki kan be used to control other creatures, used to predict others movements, like mantra at Skypiea and used like a shield, and if used hard enough, it can be used as a weapon! After recovering from the battle of the best, Luffy is being teached to use Haki, and then happens the timeskip, and we see Luffy 2 years afterwards. Here he evade beams from the Pacifista.
