Yeah I would agree that being an individual like that and all is cool, but don't get me wrong when I say that being individual doesn't mean u can do bad things and say it's because of individuality. Believe me when I say that I HAVE been marked as an individual and I know what it means and feels like, but I also know a person who might use this in a negative way also.

Let's face it. We're living in a world where we tend to be obsessed with the idea of fitting in, being like everyone else, being accepted. There are very few people left with any real sense of individuality and those who do have it find they have to hide behind masks to avoid the critisism of society. As a homeschooler, I am a minority in almost every situation. I know what  it is to be individual or separate from everyone else. I don't believe in evolution, gay marriage, and abortion. Many people would say that I am not tolerant enough, but at least I'm not a government made robot (not saying that every public schooled person is). Sometimes it's nice to know that you are one of the few people in a group. It makes life seem more special.

It's not crass individuality he's speaking about, which goes to extremes, it's about having the courage to "belong" while still having your own style, ideas about life, whether non conformist or not. The point is: you can be yourself even if that self is not what the world wants you to be and still thrive without being destructive... you don't have to be a clone.
