Ung mga nasa pinas na may balak magjoin ng US Navy meron recruiter na pumupunta sa Pinas galing Guam. Pero every 6 mos lang ata sila napunta. Pro meron isang requirement para makapagtest ka sa knila. Dpat US Citizen ka. hehe. Kramihan sa mga narerecruit sa pinas mga anak ng US retired servicemen.

This brings back memories. Keep the Pinoy in US NAVY tradition alive. I just retired as a Chief in Dec 2007 at 38 y/o, total of 20 yrs and 15 days of service. I served with Marines 12 years of my career as FMF Doc. Desert Shield/Storm and OIF veteran, combat vet twice. I am glad I stayed in, I have both military and VA pensions plus I work for the VA now, triple dipping! Time flies, ang bilis ng 20 years. STAY in, train hard, study hard, stay motivated, keep charging DEVIL DOCS!

kailan ka mag immigrate muna dito. you also need a green card to join to the us navy if your a foreigner. before ang mga filipino citizens pwede mag us navy sa subic naval base. after 1992 wala na yung base sa RP so those days are long gone like an empty bottle of san miguel beer. blame the closure on the philippine senate who dont want young filipinos to leave for a better life. ang mga pinoy nag navy sa subic ay chiefs E7,8,9 (jepe) or warrant officers ngayon, yung iba nag retire with pensions

for spouses its anytime (as long as there legal evidence of marriage) kasi kailan siya mag file ng petition muna for an immigrant family visa para sa yo sa US State Department its usually after becoming a us citizen or even a permanent US resident they could start..(FYI instead of 5 yrs, since siya ay US miltary it takes about 3 years from bootcamp for him to apply to be a us citizen (if he isnt one anyway) and then processing the petition (maybe up to a year) well good luck to u.
you need to be a legal resident(greencard holder) here in the United States...ilan sa amin na petition ng aming mga parents bago kami mag apply sa US Navy..mas madali dati nun andun pa sa Subic ang Naval base kasi tumatanggap pa sila aplikante mula dyan,but now,you need get through more immigration process and the USCIS if ever you are granted legal residency of the United States then thats the we could accept your application...

2nd Class, E5 lang? alam ko after 2007, hindi na pwede mag retire sa 20 years kung E5/2nd Class lang ni abot...1st class E6 ang minimum..sana nag Hepe/Chief (E7) ka at nag High tenure sa 24 years! plus disability, mas malaki ang pension na yun..

Pero pagdating namin ng gulf war nagkasakit ako and di ko natapos ang enlistment ko kaya in 1992 discharged ako and placed on tdrl for 5 years. Every 18 months my medical order akong tinatanggap. In 1997, I was placed on pdrl Chapter 61 retiree. Dapat nasa pinas ako pero I chose to tnt here in the US. Currently, no law yet to grant me a legal status for my service in the US Navy and gulf war period.
Also, I only served 5 years, 4 months and 18 days on active duty as written on my dd214. On tdrl for 5 years and retired in 1997. Sayang talaga, kung hindi lang ako nagkasakit siguradong lifer ako at siguradong active duty pa haggang ngayon at for sure US citizen na.

may mga ambition lang...ganyan talaga kapag nagkitakita ang mga pinoy sa usnavy...kahit nde magkakakilala basta pinoy solid sa USNAVY.
nasa Great Lakes Chicago sila ngayon... "A" school or basic school for the usnavy after bootcamp.
so it means dyan lang nagkakilala ang mga pinoy na yan...sarap maging pinoy sa usnavy... laging may tropa!!!
