(Exaggeration) and in movie terms, it was probably the only movie to directly fallow the comic, and do it perfectly. It flowed well, had extremely good acting, and amazing action and CG work. One of the best movies ever, and is under appreciated.

Let alone the fact that the heroes seemed to have super powers (regarding Dr. Manhattan) they were ordinary people. If they threw a punch the bad guys didn't go flying. Terrible movie and maybe suggest reading the story again if you think the movie followed the book.

I agree about the actor though, they could have made him look at least a LITTLE bit like David Hayter, it's not like it's hard to find a photo of him. Actually it does go on longer. It is a six hour movie, but they took out half to make it shorter. I watched a few deleted scenes like Hollis Manson's murder.
My Uncle loves graphic novels and he mailed me the book a couple months before the movie came out and I really enjoyed it. I guess I'm lucky cus I probably wouldn't have read it otherwise. I really liked the movie too although the actor who plays Ozmandius is kinda lame and doesn't really carry the role very well.

Many people see watchmen and become ver frustrated and annoyed that this is not just another mindless action superhero movie, where they fight crime and try to get a girlfriend.
The masked heroes is so much a symbol for seeing real life, that it's barely about superheroes. If you know this and accept this when you see the movie or read the bokk/graphic novel, you will properly enjoy it very much..

The action was too simple, the story was apparently meant to confuse you, though I don't think it was actually complex. Of course, I haven't seen the end so I'm not sure.
But it's like this. A bunch of random events happen, and you wonder why; so it's confusing, but not because the story is just so awesome and elaborate, but because it's a horrible movie.

The movie was much better than the comic. The graphic novel is just lots of bitching about conservatives, oblique insults directed at US culture, etc. It's just one big clump of metaphors used to try to finesse the hippy worldview into something palatable, basically through mocking everything they opposed.
Most of the really crappy snide comments get edited out in the movie. This apparently infuriated Alan Moore, who withdrew his connection to the movie. Which made the movie all the better.
Alan Moore disconnected himself with the film world after "League of", was released, not before this shit tank of a movie. This comic did something that no other comic did, and in the film nothing is able to breathe. I feel no connection to any characters like I did with the comic. If you want to make a "good" film, then you have to make the audience care about the characters, something this film couldn't do but the comic could.
My favorite prat of the movie was when water guy and Dr. Manhattan sword fight on dinos and detective guy figures it was man who killed the dinosaurs.

I hadn't even heard of Watchmen until I heard about the movie. I went out and got the book right away. I loved it so much, I HAVEN'T seen the movie. I'm scared of it ruining it.

Same here.Sort of. TheAmazingAtheist(youtuber) reccomneded the movie/bok to his fans. I didnt feel like seeing the movie, but went out and bought the comic.

The only problem with Watchmen is that 90% of people aren't intelligent enough to "get it". I thought it was amazing (though it took a while to get used to the blue penis).

Honestly, I was one of those...
"Hey! Movie based on my favorite graphic novel! Neato!" But I heard it was rated R, so I was sure I couldn't see it with the Mum. Especially with the language, dark undertone, and blue penis.
Then everywhere I saw people carrying the comic claiming there love for it. Most of them didn't even get it.

This does raise a good point.
Many people see watchmen and become ver frustrated and annoyed that this is not just another mindless action superhero movie, where they fight crime and try to get a girlfriend.
The masked heroes is so much a symbol for seeing real life, that it's barely about superheroes. If you know this and accept this when you see the movie or read the bokk/graphic novel, you will properly enjoy it very much..

I thought the movie sucked... I don't get why it was so awesome. Was the last hour or so really good or something? Because I left before then...
I thought it was just a bunch of pointless profanity... it got interesting when that Dr. Manhattan guy was blamed for giving people cancer, but other than that I was wondering what the plot was, and what the fuck was going on. Kind of reminds me of To Kill a Mockingbird.

Are you retarded? You think "profanity" only refers to language? I didn't really mind the langauge, although it did get a little annoying. Most of the movie reminded me of a ten-year-old trying to be cool because he can say "fuck". Only, it wasn't the language that bothered me, but the random, often irrelevant events that looked like they were just put up there to get some hype. Don't get me wrong, I love it when there are gory war movies, but Watchmen was just... why the fuck did they do that?

Honestly, my thoughts on Watchmen was that it was just too simple. A movie isn't awesome because you have a girl getting raped, a blue guy with a penis, a bone coming threw an arm (although that was kind of cool) and a shit load of confusion. I'm sorry.

The action was too simple, the story was apparently meant to confuse you, though I don't think it was actually complex. Of course, I haven't seen the end so I'm not sure.
But it's like this. A bunch of random events happen, and you wonder why; so it's confusing, but not because the story is just so awesome and elaborate, but because it's a horrible movie.

The movie was much better than the comic. The graphic novel is just lots of bitching about conservatives, oblique insults directed at US culture, etc. It's just one big clump of metaphors used to try to finesse the hippy worldview into something palatable, basically through mocking everything they opposed.
Most of the really crappy snide comments get edited out in the movie. This apparently infuriated Alan Moore, who withdrew his connection to the movie. Which made the movie all the better.

Alan Moore disconnected himself with the film world after "League of", was released, not before this shit tank of a movie. This comic did something that no other comic did, and in the film nothing is able to breathe. I feel no connection to any characters like I did with the comic. If you want to make a "good" film, then you have to make the audience care about the characters, something this film couldn't do but the comic could.

My favorite prat of the movie was when water guy and Dr. Manhattan sword fight on dinos and detective guy figures it was man who killed the dinosaurs.
