  • this fool looks like a mouse!

  • Cacao occasionally is ok for me but no way everyday. It's a party food. David Wolf is a magnetic personality and a great speaker but he can rub some people the wrong way yet you still find yourself watching him - he's entertaining and has some great info. But I would never recommend cacao to somebody as a regular food given how I feel when I take it consistently.

Kevin thanks for being a straight shooter!

  • this dude is hilarious. I appreciate the honesty in the video; it's so funny that he would change his mind from "cacao is awesome" to "cacao is bad" because he took it in "extreme amounts".

Take anything in extreme amounts and you can expect negative side effects. Following this logic he would come to the conclusion that almost every vitamin and supplement on the face of the planet is bad! hahaha

  • Is it possible eating cacao every day for a while can contribute to constipation?

  • @MisterTissueBox Yes it can. It does for me. Occasional use is great and not a problem though (for me).

  • over the past 3 months or so, I've been consuming raw cacao in 1-2 Tbsp amounts daily. I've also had a hard time sleeping over the past 2-3 months. It sometimes takes me 1-2 hours to fall asleep and I don't always sleep soundly. After the information I recently read on the internet, I'm quitting cacao for at least 2 weeks if not indefinitely. I hope I get results.

  • Bloody hell but you lot believe such a load of crap. Snap out of it.

  • Too much of a good thing is too much.

  • Too much of a good thing is too much. I'm going to use cocoa in moderation to keep from developing a sensitivity. Cocao is acidifying, making daily cumalative effect what possibly depleted Kev's minerals. Whenever my diet was too acidifying to my ph and it depleted my minerals, and my tooth sensitivity and bone aches increase, along with phlegm/mucous production. That's my cue to get more alkaline.

  • LOL.. wow this is so funny! cacao has been really good for me! Moderation is key!. all though I was taking more then 2 tables spoon a day and I didnt feel no bad side effects! only good! stop eliminating all of the good things in life by listening to others, listen to your body!!!

  • WEAKLINGS !!!!!

    CACAO IS GODLY STUFF

like they say cacao is the food of the gods !! if you can't handle it don't bash on it just get off of it !!!

  • LOL 7:05 "literally a good handful of food experts"

    pun unintended? :p

  • Cocoa is full of theobromine not so much caffine. I would advise others not to bother with cocoa. It was too stimulating for me, my bro, and my Mum. It is probably not normal to consume. As for kinesiology, it is great for balancing the muscles and the tests when done correctly are great for finding deficiencies, weakness's etc.

  • yes cocoa was too stimulating for me.

    Kinesiology does work.

  • i gave up cacao, i felt it stimilated me to much and started to destroy my health, made my skin break out also, a problem ive never had in my life and stopped with the elimination of it-

  • I had a cacao addiction overdose on the nibs one day. I was going crazy, talking fast, singing, walking down the street with a smile on my face. It did give me a slight headache at the end of the day. cacao is great in small amounts in a smoothie, and make sure you are drinking plenty of water.

    the stimulant

Theobroma -means "food of the gods". It is toxic to some species, but many species also feed specifically on it from cacao , such as months.

  • hahah singing down the street, very interesting, I've had similar eperiences

  • I act like that all the time. I jsut started drinking cacao. It really has not effected me.

  • Does cooked cacao work for you?

  • Well, it's a relief I don't need cacao to feel loved....besides, I was shocked to find out that you crash after eating amounts of it. Shazzie says in one vidoe that you must eat lots and lots of superfoods to be a superbeing and a super familý, the next to be careful about so you don't crash...hm.

  • I hope anybody can say that he doesnt like cacao without being afraid to offend david wolfe the grand!.. pathetic

  • YOU GUYS ARE ALL SOFT CACAO IS SO POWERFULL YOU JUST CANNOT HANDLE IT. THE MASSIVE POWER IT DELIVERS USED TO DETOX ME...... TODAY I TAKE 4OZ OR MORE A DAY AND I HAVE ONLY BEEN RAW FOR 1 YEAR... IM CRAZY! YES I KNOW! ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! KG is cool too no offense.
  • cacao = crack

  • lol

  • I'll attack David wolfe he peddles super food you get stimulated on and come down off cocoa is poison. stay away from foods you come down off. dried food and powdered food is dead food just like cooked food. when you combine it with stimulant and you can shelve it for months if not years you can sell it and make shit loads of cash. wolfe cant sell you the only true superfood the food out of your veggie garden.

  • wolfe encourages you to grow your own veggies in a garden as well as using superfoods

  • true i reckon, prob tryin to make you get hooked so he can make tons of money forcing you to buy super overpriced crap u get addicted too, always about the dough

  • I'm sorry, but you just talk so much I really lose interest in your videos. Please get to the point!!

  • No anaphylactic shock here haha, its all good. If cacao doesnt work for you, perhaps your body requires something else? Ive started drinking David Wolfe smoothies seen here on youtube, and in 6 weeks I have lost 50 pounds w/o any exercise, due to post-op knee surgery. I feel better than I have since my early twenties. I grew up very hyper, for whatever reason coffee/chocolate made me chill, I feel more normal than ever. For me, cacao just reminds me how much God loves me. Blessings.

  • ...

Eat if you like it and if not eat something else. But if you try to analyse a substance that is so complex by your head I recomend eating more cacao ;-)to get more in touch with the true nature of yourself. Have fun - enjoy life - wake up. Much love to All.

  • ARE YOU PEOPLE KIDDING ;-) When I read through all this comments I feel that much much cacao is needed right here. Love life and keep things simple. Is coco good or is it bad??? There`s no good or bad thing in universe. But if you ask me, cacao is a wonderful magical thing to eat. Anyway, at the same time I don`t need it at all. I`m happy just with water :-)))) It`s a shamanic food, IT CAN`T BE UNDERSTOOD BY THE HEAD. That`s why I highly recomend to make experience with it.

  • hmmm, i get the idea that david wolfe uses cacao to attract people to the raw vegan lifestyle. that's a big part of his purpose in life i'd say. I mean, he reaches more people through raw food than anyone! he puts out power packed foods, with at least some intent to attract people to the lifestyle with them. He's such a unique example of the "law of attraction" in action. best day ever! =)

  • All over the internet most science says cacao

is toxic I have not seen David Wolfe defend this. I wonder because I know he sells a lot of it. I wounder what he thinks.

  • What science?

  • coco is a powerful drug. it is highly addictive. it is both stimulating and opiating.

  • From what I've seen, David Wolfe strongly recommends cacao as a good "delivery vehicle" for herbs and to add cayenne so that you are not tempted to drink it too fast. A few times a week, I make a drink with 20 cacao beans, cat's claw, pau d'arco, cayenne, he shou wu, cinnamon, vanilla and honey. I take all day to drink it along with other foods and I don't feel overstimulated.

  • Fuzzy can I just askk... about how many tablespoons of broken up cacao is one bean? Thanks :))

  • 1 to 2 tablespoons is not extreme. This guys is just a lightweight. Cacao causes irrational behavior in people don't eat it and this video is evidence of that

  • i dont eat cacao and i think wolfey is great! iman eat raw ganja on my salad with avacado that is my super food! full of minerals, human growth hormone, deeply alkaline sooo many medicinal properties. i think it is the best food in the universe!!!!!!

  • Hey Kevin, i was wondering if you know, if raw Cacao Butter contains any Caffeine, Theobromine, and other stimulants? Because i want to use a couple ounces in my smoothies to help get the calories in, which is hard to do on a raw food diet, but i wont touch the stuff if it contains any of the same stimulants that are in the Cacao Nibs and Powder.

    Thanks!

  • Too add to my comment, Vanilla beans do nothing to stop the process in which i explained.

  • Raw Vanilla beans wont balance out cacao. Cacao contains stimulants that are hard and put stress on the adrenal glands. They stimulate the adrenal glands to release Cortisol, and when the adrenals keep getting stimulated they end up getting burnt out and fatigued, and you end up with low Cortisol levels. I went through this and beleive me it is HELL and you need to take bioidentical Cortisol (Cortef) most of the time once your adrenals are burnt out, in order to allow them to rest and heal.

  • Raw vanilla beans balance out cacao.

  • Kevin, I love you! The problem with people tooting their horns about raw food is that there isn't enough research being done to back up claims. This is a basic issue of ethics. This is my problem with people like David Wolfe. Just because he lived in the jungle and had some experiences, doesn't make it right to propagate faulty information just to be hip and make some money. I'm sure he's a groovy guy, no offense on that front. Let's look at FACTS and not FADS!

  • Great follow up video Kev!, you gave us all what we wanted to see.

  • read the blindguru page on cacao powder being oxidised

  • Cacao does the exact same thing to me, it causes adrenal stress for me and burns me out. Im also a fast oxidizer and any stimulant like caffeine, theobromine, even in its "raw" form, stresses my adrenals. I personally dont beleive this is a superfood at all and its a highly acidic food due to the caffeine and theobromine. You can get all the magnesium, chromium, vitamin c, PEA, antioxidants, ect, from plenty of other superfood and herb sources, angstrom minerals, ect.

  • Really great video. I have been eating tons of homemade raw chocolate (Made with cacao nibs, coconut oil, carob powder, and agave nectar.) for a very long time. I personally haven't noticed any problems, but I'm glad that this topic is getting brought up. I got into raw foods by people like Shazzie and David Wolfe who in my opinion are living examples that it is possible (At least for some people) to eat cacao everyday and be extremely healthy. I'll try not cacao for a while.

  • I will stop taking cacao and see if my long-standing skin rashes go away. I don't believe I've ever been addicted because I've gone long periods without having it. I usually take it in powder form (chocolate drinks) mixed with agave, maca, bee pollen, nutritional yeast, tomato powder, coconut butter, water, paprika, etc..

  • I'm very glad you mentioned it too.. I will cut out my cocao intake to see if my long standing skin rashes go away. I don't believe I'm addicted to it and have gone long times without it.

  • Good video.

I don't eat chocolate because I don't believe it contributes anything good to my body. I just see it as a stimulant, which causes more harm than good.

  • I worship cacao and i Love it. I think its so powerful, that it might bring imbalances to the surface.

The Mayan civilization, which was one of the most incredible cultures ever used it and there are still some indigenous tribes which drink up to 40 Cups of Cacao a week! And they are famous for their Health and Longevity.

  • i love you and i love cacao and cacao loves me!!!cacao is the best thing since e-mail!!! i eat a shit load of it because i heard back in the day Montezuma drank a gallon of chocolate liquior every day. i thought it would be cool to follow in his footsteps!!!hahahahaha

  • David Wolfe's passion rocks my socks off. Personally, cacao has a very sedate effect on me...it doesn't hype me up and doesn't make me sleepy but instead promotes creativity and focus. If I'm at a mental block or need to stay up a night to write a paper or finish a project, having a cacao treat makes me feel very centered and at peace and productive without being stimulated and crazy like coffee. I get sick from coffee stimulation, but cacao is my secret weapon! Oops. not so secret anymore... ;)

  • Cacao works for me and my customers are loving it! The Holy Cacao is my Best Seller!

I have new Truffles from CRU Chocolate!

Dude if there Toxic I go down sucking on CRU

  • LOL!

  • 1-2 tbsp is a very tiny amount compared to what I was doing daily for a year and a half. My conclusion is that all chocolate is toxic poison, and I am starting a blog on Blogger as well as eventually my own videos on You Tube. I will explore this scientifically for all the chocolate haters and lovers alike without bias as much as I can. I simply want to discover and expose the real truth about cacao beyond all the BS. I plan to do my own original research on this subject as well.

  • I have the utmost respect for Mr. Wolfe and his contribution to the raw food lifestyle.

Whether or not my body can tolerate cacao has nothing to do with him or his beliefs regarding it's consumption. I use it occasionally with no problems, this fact has nothing to do with David Wolfe. :-)

  • I love Cacao and David Wolfe:)

  • Chocolate haters... One thing I noticed is that they often don't have a whole lot of very good reasons to hate chocolate. They will say a bunch of vague things that really aren't THAT bad. Yeah, sure there are some individual people that have adverse reactions and maybe it's not a food that we tons of every day, but some people go way overboard in saying it's the worst thing going when we already KNOW there is plenty of good going on with it as well.

The one poor argument I often hear is

  • ...that cacao is bitter and all things bitter are poisonous. Nature made poisons taste this way so we don't eat them etc etc...

We know from herbalism that many of these "poisonous" plants have alkaloids in them that are in such small amounts that we can't eat too much of them for extended periods of time. Daniel Vitalis just talked about this in your interview with him a few episodes back.

Chinese medicine recognizes "bitter" as one of the 5 tastes that we need for balance in our diet.

  • Awesome video - and thanks for talking about those who trash David Wolfe. Hopefully they will come to a place of love and understanding.

    Keep up the awesome work!

  • I have not had a reaction like you had with cocao.

I make Raw Chocolate for people and I will take your information and let them know not to eat chocolate in large

quantities. You never know what someone's reactions to foods will be. This is a good segment.

    Thanks.

  • Kevin, your honesty is beautiful and courageous...and it has really empowered me, and I'm very grateful. I'm so thankful for the "The Renegade Health Show!" Earl and I love the fun jingle too! Your show is informative and fun! Much Love, Jenni
