Take the time to look at and google Gulen Charter Schools. One of the drawbacks is that it created an oppurtinity for some ver very bad things.

@RebuildNewOrleans yep you tube search Abramson Charter School and Google Abramson Pelican Foundation. Andrew Valicore did a great job. Also after watching the News clips on Abramson, Google search When a reporter becomes part of the story Zaman. The Cult retaliated against the teachers who wanted to remain anonymous out of fear of retaliation. As you see for good reason. The Zaman paper is part of the CUlLT''s network. Very strange things indeed. Help get the word out.

you know at first i was skeptical about the effectiveness of charter schools, but know i'm starting to understand that this may actually work out a lot better that what we already have been doing, which is only getting worse as the years go.

I'm with you. I was pretty skeptical at first too. But now, it's looking like New Orleans schools are getting better. They're far from perfect, but much better than before Katrina.

Hopefully this is the first step in making New Orleans the city with the highest number of middle-class black people. While I don't think this alone will solve New Orleans' crime problem, it is a BIG step in the right direction. The teachers in these schools are laying the foundation for what could a giant pillar of success.
