BTW the South Ferry stop was destroyed in 911. They restored it, perfectly. Too perfectly. I miss that one entrance door with the bad hinges that always stuck. :)

IMDB states most of the Subway footage was shot in the tunnels leading to the decommissioned IND Court St. station in Brooklyn. The station itself served as Grand Central and 28th St.

Absolutely correct, the Court Street station is now a transit museum. The station platform signs were replaced and repainted and if you look closely you can see they did the same with the number signs (wet paint) on some of the train cars as it seems they only were given a handful to work with and tried to make it seem like there were more than they actually had.

It was filmed in NY but it doesn't appear as though it was filmed at Pelham Station.

Well according to IMDB & Wikipedia the tunnel & station scenes were shot at the court st. station in Brooklyn. I searched for additional info & found that New Yorks Transit Authority initially wouldnt allow the film to be made on actual subways due to of the fear of copycat crimes. Mayor Lindsay got involved and the Authority finally gave permission but required the studio to buy anti-hijacking insurance though there were never any attempts. Nothing about technical problems though.
