It's pretty historically incorrect. In the 1995 final the All Blacks (New Zealand) had a bout of food poisoning running through the team and they were in doubt to even play the final. No mention of that in the film though and the actual Rugby footage just sucks so much. American actors have no idea of the rules or game.

Clint Eastwood deserved another Best Director nomination at the Oscars for this one. Not only were the 2 lead performances outstanding (a sign of very good direction), but the movie is very restrained and quiet, rather than all "in your face" with fake melodrama. Every scene is directed with the idea that "less is more" rather than trying to shove a message down your throat. Film fans should watch Eastwood's direction in his movies to see how it SHOULD be done these days.

I am from New Zealand and I'm happy that SA won that year 95, because they had more reason to win.

But remember New Zealand back in the 70s when SA would not let any blacks play in there team when they toured here, alot of kiwis's were against them playing here.
