@BoxedxxFreak First of all, on the college-level professor and instructor are NOT interchangeable at all; they do mean two very specific and different things.
I also looked at her Wikipedia article you're quoting from and the footnote [23] is a dead-end; I would assume the author of the Wikipedia article made a mistake because to be a professor, implicit in that, is to hold a PhD which Spalding didn't and still doesn't.

@SatchmoSings Yes, a professor usually holds a PhD, but you cant tell me every professor in the world has a PhD. And yes it is interchangeable because technically, a college conductor is not a professor even though they teach and could have a Phd cause they don't lecture. Would you please tell me where you read that "instructor" was a more appropriate term because I haven't heard anything about that.

@SatchmoSings Well, now that you say that it's easy to admit that I was wrong. Instructor probably is a better term, but when I research it "professor" always comes up. I have a hard time admitting when I'm wrong if I feel like somebody is being pedantic...but then again, who doesn't?

@BoxedxxFreak Remember, Dr. Jonas Salk was a physician who never went into private medical practice, at least he didn't until after he came up with the polio vaccine (I'm not at all familiar with that part of his life/career).
As for my own major in college, to be honest I'm a HS drop-out!

@BoxedxxFreak Here on "Youtube" there are two recordings of the Brahms Violin Concerto performed by Heifetz; I prefer the earlier one recorded in 1939 with Koussevitzky and the Boston Symphony Orchestra and yes, I like Ravel.
Is there anything specific that impresses you regarding this work?
School is important if you need to learn something pretty specific such as what you're studying; if I did tell you about the "education" that I did have, I must admit, it all came from "The Street"!
