Battlefield 3 är först och främst ett Multiplayer spel. Det är den delen som har varit hypad och som får grymma recensioner överallt. Singelplayer delen har däremot fått en hel del ris. Bland annat för att recensenterna anser att storyn har redan berättats många gånger i andra spel och att man inte kan förstöra byggnader i samma skala som i multiplayer delen, även möjligheten att köra nästan alla fordon man ser är borttagen från singelplayer delen. Det är multiplayern som är det stora i BF3 ; )
