Very nice, uhm instead of lifting the cards perhaps you could try to make a turn (which breaks the riffle) and then put them straight in. Of course this is only needed when performing for magicians, since they expect some kind of lifting ;)

It's very nively done, and one have to respect the fact that you worked out a simplified version instead of the one Ricky Jay uses himself. I tried it the way I thought he does it, but the shuffles really get hard for that.

But as you have noticed yourself, you should practice your pattern a bit more so there won't be those unwanted brakes and those tiny mistakes (five cards, not people).

But all in all very good!

No disrespect intended. Your performed it ok but the method is not the same as Ricky's. His method is far more sophisticated and in a class of its own. To claim this was created by Ricky is doing him a disservice as he would never use such obvious slights. This was created by you; NOT Ricky.

I thought your riffles were fine. If you know what to look for everyone sees the move. You might want try and mix in a push through riffle with a cut to keep it changing.

My only recommendation is to work on making the jogs smaller on your cuts. I know it elevates the risk of losing the break but your jogs were more than half the card.

Good stuff though. I enjoyed watching.

it's not a mistake. I doubt you saw that the first time you watched it. If you didn't see anything the first time it doesn't count because magicians never show you the same trick twice. the "mistake" was very subtle. And he'd be showing it to people who didn't have "magician" eyes.

the more i watch this video the more im learning how to figure out this trick becuase right now, you are breaking an important rule in Magic Tricky...and that is your allowing the same people to see you perform the same trick more than once. To me, if your going to show off a sweet card trick on youtube, you mine as well reveal how its done. You performed it smoothly though and its still difficult to figure out but im paying more and more attention now :D

Well, you're right at some point but it's not about that here. It's about seeing or not the trick. If we can see it, all the magic is gone. So it's a fail for him and you have to accept that.

I recommend the performer not use Mr. Jays patter exactly word for word. Deep down don't you want your own version?

I do understand the fact that it would be better for me to use my own original patter. For some tricks you can do that, but for some tricks the ideas of a different patter are so limited. A lot of triumph routines may look different, but most of all the patter are very similar. There are limited ideas of patter to certain tricks.

This trick was actually never published. I figured out a method to do it (the easy one), but Ricky Jay uses a special shuffling technique so its difficult to do. My method produces the exact outcome. If you really want to know, I can message you the tutorial :)
