Very nice, uhm instead of lifting the cards perhaps you could try to make a turn (which breaks the riffle) and then put them straight in. Of course this is only needed when performing for magicians, since they expect some kind of lifting ;)
It's very nively done, and one have to respect the fact that you worked out a simplified version instead of the one Ricky Jay uses himself. I tried it the way I thought he does it, but the shuffles really get hard for that.
But as you have noticed yourself, you should practice your pattern a bit more so there won't be those unwanted brakes and those tiny mistakes (five cards, not people).
No disrespect intended. Your performed it ok but the method is not the same as Ricky's. His method is far more sophisticated and in a class of its own. To claim this was created by Ricky is doing him a disservice as he would never use such obvious slights. This was created by you; NOT Ricky.
hello there i think u done a great job there is nothin wrong in the whole trick as i know all the method of how is done is it ok if u could send me a video of how tthis trick in done??
Tried to post earlier but I don't think it went through. Good video. Nice chops.
I thought your riffles were fine. If you know what to look for everyone sees the move. You might want try and mix in a push through riffle with a cut to keep it changing.
My only recommendation is to work on making the jogs smaller on your cuts. I know it elevates the risk of losing the break but your jogs were more than half the card.
1:05 you made a HUGE mistake that helped me really understand how you do this trick, although,I will not post a public comment on how to do this trick when I figure it out. I will, instead, send you a private message and you tell me if im right.
it's not a mistake. I doubt you saw that the first time you watched it. If you didn't see anything the first time it doesn't count because magicians never show you the same trick twice. the "mistake" was very subtle. And he'd be showing it to people who didn't have "magician" eyes.
@destroyjas obviously, you did'nt understand the shuffle. Because the HUGE mistake that you're talking about at 1:05 wasn't the first. The performance was great, over all!!!!
the more i watch this video the more im learning how to figure out this trick becuase right now, you are breaking an important rule in Magic Tricky...and that is your allowing the same people to see you perform the same trick more than once. To me, if your going to show off a sweet card trick on youtube, you mine as well reveal how its done. You performed it smoothly though and its still difficult to figure out but im paying more and more attention now :D
why a joker in the deck?? but i still loved it. and i hate all the people who nit pick these tricks, saying "i could see u do this or that" They just want to seem smart.
Well, you're right at some point but it's not about that here. It's about seeing or not the trick. If we can see it, all the magic is gone. So it's a fail for him and you have to accept that.
I personnally didn't see anything, I'm just answering cause your reaction wasn't the good one here =)
But i think you're really good =)
It's like a critisizing a football, you would not be able to play as him but you do critisize him don't you ?
You people are all tutorial whores. Every post is literally for the same diluted handout. If you can't figure this trick out, seriously, on your own, than you truly don't have what it takes to do it well. Being told is weak.
I recommend the performer not use Mr. Jays patter exactly word for word. Deep down don't you want your own version?
I do understand the fact that it would be better for me to use my own original patter. For some tricks you can do that, but for some tricks the ideas of a different patter are so limited. A lot of triumph routines may look different, but most of all the patter are very similar. There are limited ideas of patter to certain tricks.
@d090509 I get what you're saying, and I think it's good you're doing magic. My comment was two years ago and I hope you're still at it. Those who need to be told how card tricks are done I still believe should attempt some patience and reverse engineer what they see. It would make much better magicians out of them in my opinion.
As for your patter, hope it's going well and you're using what works best. I also hope you've pushed some of your own words in, you seem dedicated and smart enough!
@jaggerlags Bullshit if the patters good fukin use it as long as you dont try to adapt to have the same personality as the other performer and you be yourself.
@jaggerlags Unless you print your own cards and have never learned a single technique from a book, tutorial, or a mentor...kindly keep your opinions about how others should approach magic to yourself.
Hi d090509! I am a subscriber of you and I will send you a friend invite as well. Could you please send me a tutoriol on this trick? Thank you!! Please reply to me as fast as you see this. Cheers.
I love this trick. I have you added, can you please show me a tutorial of this alaskan poker trick. I love Ricky Jay's tricks and this is my favourite. Please send me a tutorial.
dude you did this perfectly can i get the tutorial? cuz you did it EXACTLY like ricky jay which had to be hard to learn (plus i suck at magic compared to you ive seen more of your tricks and theyre all great) but if i could get a tutorial that would be amazing thnx
I love your vids and I'm into magic a lot. I love Ricky Jay and I would love to know how to do this trick. Could you message me a tutorial please I can trade you one if interested... anyway message me back.
ive been watching this video multiple times along with many other ricky jay tricks. they are all very hard but ive been really interested in this particular trick. i was wondering if u had a tutorial on this trick.
i figured it out. at 1:34,,, he takes half and turns is over and puts on the other half.... that is where i think the cards turn face except the four.
This trick was actually never published. I figured out a method to do it (the easy one), but Ricky Jay uses a special shuffling technique so its difficult to do. My method produces the exact outcome. If you really want to know, I can message you the tutorial :)
Wow, that was amazing. Is there a tutorial for this? Really keen on learning this.
