Old man and woman's. Those people never benefit from the capitalist system. No wonder they flee back to memories of the old soviet state.
But Stalinism is death. The Soviet Union was not a socialist workers state. It was a lie and a bureaucratic state ruled by the party elite. It would be better to start working on a new workers party to crush the Kremlin bureaucracy.
I agree with you. I don't think this is upheaval of actual "communist" movement but rather nostalgia of older generation who felt that it was better with Stalin than Putin. But I also do know that there are also younger generation who are developing new movement. One is re-embracing Stalinism and other is re-embracing communism through Trotsky. I support the latter one. Slovaj Zizek stated that many Eastern Europeans didn't expected this kind lunacy under capitalism.
@ClaudeFrollon be careful. If you go on May 1st now there no official parade in Red Square anymore, but only on May 9th and and Red Square is closed to get ready for may 9th (you can't go to see Lenin mausoleum fo example).
Nostalgic communists meet in the other square (the same on this video) where is Bolshoe Theatre. Poka!
It wasn't perfect, esspecially to the end. But did remember us the values we communists hold dear. But dangerous it is to glorify the Soviet Union like many comrades did in the past. When it was gone, many were disillusioned. Its the ideology what matters most of all, marxist-leninism.
No I didn't live in the SU:P I was responding to putting the SU on a pedistle and glorifing it thing it was not. Is was better than the West on many thing, but not perfection.
But indeed to bad I could see it in my life time. I only saw the DDR in its last days when I was little.
