Originally, Bush and many Republicans and Democrats supported the bailouts and in general, it was needed. The first bailout happened at the ending of Bush's 2nd term. It is too bad there was no real oversight from the start. Too many companies took advantage. But if there was no bailout, then our country would have fallen into a great depression. It was necessary to save various banks and the car industry.

I don't support the war in Iraq, but Afghanistan is another story.

Ok, I don't remember the bailouts, but I do remember the tax refund. Yea, I agree. I'm not so sure there would have a been a depression. I think what really drove the economy down was the rising gas prices, and and when the companies realized what it was doing they came down with the prices. Then the financial state gradually got a little better, that time happened to fall right after the election, and before the bailouts. I think what really killed America though, was debt. Why so?

Rising gas prices was one of the reasons. The Iraq War also drained money and deregulation started by Phil Gramm, in 1989, also hurt the country that helped take away what the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933 had created.

Then we had the subprime mess and loan problems. The national debt is a factor, but not like the subprime mess that happened.

And besides, for most people, universal healthcare won't be free.

In the past, Obama said that anyone making less than $250,000 will not see a tax increase. But if you are above this, you may find yourself with a tax increase. Now if you are mega rich, you will pay.

Nateindahood777, you are mostly correct. Some superdelegates are rich people, but not all are. In Hawaii, some of the superdelegates that were sent to the DNC have average jobs and are not necessarily rich.

But I agree with you wholeheartedly on the fact that the superdelegate vote is much more powerful than my vote. You are 100% correct on that one. Thanks for the comment.
