  • Every dv7 and envy comes with beats audio. I believe the dv6 has it too. Now they have a dm1 beats audio. If you love music on the go, this sounds like the laptop to have.

  • thats the laptop i have! inface.. im on it right now o,O

  • how is the screen quality compared to another notebook, i am planning to buy one with the 1080p screen real soon but i want to be sure it has a good screen.

  • @lucjuh8 screen on this is unbelieveable!

  • does this computer come with a face recorder thing to talk through like for skype?

  • @breettannalol yes, most new laptop have them. this webcam is one of the best. My envy has the same one. It works in complete darkness as well.

  • @breettannalol you mean a webcam? yes.

  • @MinNineProductions But don't most laptops get warm like that anyway?

  • @guitarbabe21 Not all laptops get hot. I'm typing this on an HP 2000-41 0US, which has no heat whatsoever. However, this computer doesn't have the high performance of the dv6tqe. If you use your laptop computer with an external keyboard, heat won't matter. Some users prefer the mobility of a laptop, not as a stationary machine, so an external keyboard isn't a solution for everyone.

  • @TomZentra don't really know what all the means but I will take your word for it. lol

  • @MinNineProductions Yes it does, it has 2 USB 2.0 on right side and 2 USB 3.0 on the left.

  • Nice video. I just unboxed mine, love it.

  • thanks for the review and letting me know about the heat! much appreciated.

  • Does this have a good editing system? :D

  • It's probably that hot because you're using a quad core processor in a laptop. It takes a lot of energy to power that processor so it'll make your laptop noticeably hot and it'll most likely deplete your battery life faster than a dual core i7 2620M (2.7 GHz/3.4 Turbo Boost).

  • @TehkProductionZ The processor is in the far back left corner where the fans are so it gets maximum cooling. The hard drive is under the left palm rest and if you've got a 7200rpm drive, it will heat up like crazy, especially if you don't have it on a mat or something.

  • @BMickey13 Ah, thanks! I'm getting an HP and I was still trying to decide between a 5400 RPM and a 7200RPM HDD. I definitely don't want my computer to overheat, and I'd rather sacrifice the extra 5-10 seconds of loading time to get a safer, cooler machine.

  • @parrote2692 I can't tell you much about the anti glare because they seem all the same to me but I highly recommend 1080p compared to a 720p. The resolution difference is very noticeable and if you arent someone who has trouble seeing smaller graphics, go for the 1080p. you wont regret it.

  • does it have USB 3.0?

  • @Lostzilla847 later version of this laptop has 2 ports of USB 3.0:

under specs: "Ports 4 USB (2 USB 2.0 and 2 SuperSpeed USB 3.0), HDMI, VGA"

  • @Lostzilla847 Yes, it comes with 2x USB 3.0.

  • I heard that a BIOS fix should help with the graphics switching. Look on HP's website.

  • can this run games like gta4? please please respond

  • @krika10000 this laptop can run almost all games, the question is how much of a difference you want on the graphic settings. This can run almost all games on medium without problems and high on older games. So if you don't mind playing gta4 on medium, yes it will.

  • @MinNineProductions on medium ? i'm running gta4 on utra BUT with the 720p screen with 40 FPS !

  • Is this laptop completely black, or does it have a pattern to it?

  • @YOOivansterr no its umber so its technically close to brown color BUT its more black imo.

and the cover has almost invisible lines(?) on it to make it look sleek and maybe more metal-ish than a flat surface

  • would i be able to play minecraft on it i do not know anything about computers

  • @taradocotorro92 i have no idea where you got that information. graphics do work it's just more stressful since it's a higher resolution. for example, playing a game in high settings on a 1080 resolution will significantly decrease the fps but the card will still 'work'

  • i have been looking at sooo many different laptops and i think this might match what i need. i just want to make sure. i want an i7 quad core with 8gb of ram and a bad ass graphics card to do editing of AVCHD in Adobe Premiere. this laptop should meet that and handle that payload with no problem right? im mainly just looking for outside conformation that my search is done. unless anyone can suggest and even better one.

  • @knulffilms k just found out. if you build them on hp.com its like 50 dollars more for the same specs but the 17 inch version. does the size really help anything. i hate laptop searching once you think you got what you want you find something else. i guess with my previous comment, is there anything that has the same specs im looking for but for cheaper or is this about it.

  • @knulffilms hi, i also got this laptop for pure editing purposes (since I needed a new laptop anyway) and the MAIN factor I needed was the 1080 resolution and a i7 for faster processes for editing programs. Needless to say, I use premiere cs5 and haven't had any technical problems. The avchd footage run smoothly and work flawlessly on the program. HOWEVER, the graphics card on this laptop, radeon, is not a support gpu for gpu acceleration for premiere.

  • @MinNineProductions thanks for the response! at this point i am so lost on what i need. lol ive looked so much i just cant tell which model and brand to go with.

  • @MinNineProductions is the editing software free??

  • @IOMedits haha no premiere isnt free

  • @knulffilms you can take one more step and go with it's big brother, Envy 13,14,15 or 17. You should check into the envy. It has all sorts of model within that line. I have the envy 17 and it does everything I ask it to do. Multi tasking is no problem for your editing with it. If your gonna use your envy away from your desk, don't get the 17. batterry is horible, get the the other 3 with the extra slim fit battery. It suppose to give you double the battery life, 8-10 hours aprox.good luck

  • @knulffilms macbook pro is the best choice for you and is better then what you want it for

  • What's wrong with an i7 dv6?

  • @notmack nothing, i needed a quad edition, meaning quad core i7 for heavy edits

  • Oh sure

  • @haiti1800 Fucking cunts, I would be pissed off, going to their company, and make them fix the problem while I´m watching, more problems, I´ll coming back

  • @haiti1800 Shit, just saw your video, that sucks man, did you contact them so they knew what caused the problem? :O

  • @haiti1800 Thanks man, I was almost buying an HP DV6, but got finaly a decide: ACER, get it tomorrow :)

  • @haiti1800 damn, what happened?

  • this is a kick ass computer!

  • When you do a reformat, do you use an HP recovery disc and then manually delete all the crapware or did you pick up a Win7 OEM disc?

  • @bagelghost I did not reformat my laptop. Instead I used Minimized System Image which removes all the bloatware without reformatting in the HP recovery menu. It took a really long time to though, maybe like 30 minutes. search that online and you can find out what that exactly does. I have no problems after doing that

  • Since you have blue-ray, does it also have a SuperMulti DVD Burner?

  • @CallMeManyo Yes.

  • @MinNineProductions Does that burn DVDs? And have you done it before?

  • @CallMeManyo Yes it burns both bluray and dvd but I have not burned them myself. nor watch a bluray disc actually...

  • @MinNineProductions It works

  • @MinNineProductions Is it self explanatory. What i mean by this is im going to get one and i dont want to later find out im going to need to download a software.

  • My laptop has Radeon HD 4250 graphics, are these any good for gaming?

  • i got this same laptop, I sure hope it works out well

  • dude, i had trouble with that battery 2 lol. and not to sound anal or anything but "dark umber" is dark brown not black. its easier to see out in direct sunlight. how longs your battery life on average? thanks

  • @oudeis0 so far, mine only lasts around 3hours or so. but i've had my settings highest with screen lighting gpu downloading etc.

  • @MinNineProductions Thanks man. I get around 2.5hrs with the 2820 so I just wanted to see the differences in the battery life.

  • shouldve just went with the macbook pro. apple customer service makes it worth the "apple tax"

  • If you got i7, you would have a faster GHz. That´s my opinion. But good review!

  • Can you play Heroes of Newerth with this computer? Please respond!!!!

  • @fl13dl1c3 oh werd you play hon? of course it can run hon on highest settings and pwn noobs

  • @fl13dl1c3 I'm getting this to play some HoN too. Haha

  • @fl13dl1c3 of course heroes of newerth is no problem with DV6TQE u can play this game at max setting and smoothly

  • What can you say about the color & design? Have you seen the steel gray version? Do you think its worth the $25 additional charge? I ordered mine in steel gray and should be here by the end of the week.

  • @xYelley the color and design, i like. it's sleek and sturdy. the color is umber but it's basically black. one thing i dont really like is the light up hp logo on the cover of the laptop. (kinda flamboyantly lighted and big)

and also, theres a steel grey edge design (you can see on the video) that feels a bit sharp (?) to me as it's not really rounded. but that's just me

and i havent seen a steel grey one in person so can't answer that. i like my laptops in one color though

  • Does the dv6t quad have a subwoofer on like the dv7t quad??

    And is da trackpad multi-gesture

  • @CLADDANIOUS It says it does have a subwoofer. I can't notice alot of difference from my previous laptop which was a dell vostro. The sound feels like its coming from the entire laptop instead of one specific area due to the speakers on the bottom however.

and the trackpad is multi gesture, two finger scroll (kinda too sensitive) and pinch zoom

  • beats: all dv6tqe come with it, its included

Heat: Try going to hp coolsense, the dv6tqe is preset to performance mode(not smart by hp), so it will be hotter

  • @alonks123 yeah the video was filmed when the HP heat sense was on performance but even when it's changed to high fan speed for maximum cooling, the palm rest get hot. It's less than before but still considerably noticeable.

and yeah sry didnt know beats audio was included :D

  • All the quad core HP laptops come with beats audio. :D

  • another review on youtube says with light usage one can get upto 5 hours of light usage with wifi on, i ordered the same thing with 9 cell battery and hope to gt 5 hours with wifi, 50% brightness and gpu off, any idea ?

  • what is the battery time with wifi on and graphic card off ?

  • @g44264 I only used my laptop off the plug and it only lasted me very close to 2 hours. But I adjusted my screen to the highest and was downloading (so wifi was on) and watching a video (and I have my gpu accelerated on my media player). I know that was completely opposite answer of what you asked me of but you can base a bit off that.
