  • idiot

  • @imageandlikeness

ur a douche bag they only put 1080 in the bush to kill the pests that are killing our native bird (kiwi) and they keep it as far away from the streams as they can we have like the cleanest water in the world.

  • i miss home

  • Forever Young cover by Milan Borich ( Pluto )

  • what a soothing ad!

  • What's this song please ?

  • "Forever young" by Alphaville.

  • Beautiful video and song. Makes me very homesick all the way over in Ireland! And everyone in NZ should be proud of the way our country and people are viewed overseas, it makes me really proud :)

  • what the name of this song ?

  • forever young

  • youthgroup sing it

  • This version was performed by the NZ group Pluto. The original version was by the German band Alphaville. It also appears in Jay-Z's song "Young Forever".

  • forever young

  • To any tourist....you will be well advised to stay away from New Zealand. You will be robbed or murdered. Its a known fact!

  • wtf???????

r u one of those people who live in south Auckland their whole life and never get out?????

  • Anywhere you go in this world you will get robbed or murdered! dumshit!

  • NZ rocks. Most beautiful country in the in my opinion, and i have never been there. wow, can't wait to go there some day

  • omg i want to go there, ooh wait a minute i live there...:)

  • when im older, im definantly going to NZ.

i think once i saw this i was instantly interested in going there. lol its absolutely beautiful. btw, im from the usa.

  • Born here, raised here, live here

    Love it

  • ditto :)

  • 1080 new zealandFACT: One of 1080s breakdown products is highly toxic fluorocitrate. ref. S. Weaver. 1080 remains stable in distilled water and breaks down extremely slowly in low temperatures, ie. In NZ streams in winter, therefore undegraded 1080 can be washed downwards into ground water and water supplies putting humans at risk. 1080 new zealand

  • Kruiser98 FACT: Kruiser98 is a gay fag XD

but seriously, they only put it in bushland where pests are killing kiwis (the bird), and aim as far away from streams as they can. And christchurch's water still remains 2nd best in the world. Thank you.

  • Or you can just visit New Zealand Town in NYC.

(Between Chinatown and Little Itallian Town.)

  • too much NZ, jealous much aussie!!!

wat do you prefer desert or forest!!!

  • NZ has always been very proud commomwealth type of country....respect from India

  • Looks beautiful, but where's Old Zealand? :o)

  • Holland

  • LoL

    Bad joke xD

  • omg australia looks so nice!

  • The Dept. of Conservation advises that due to an aerial drop of Sodium Mono Fluoroacetate (1080)in the Coromandel forest they 'advise all trampers to bring their own water requirements and PLEASE do not take any water from this area for consumption, to not handle any bait or carcasses, and DO NOT leave children untended. It would be irresponsible to not advise any potential visitors to the area of this.

    Clean green no more.

  • The red haired chick is really pretty, she's so hot lol.

  • I live in New Zealand and it is a great place!

  • Hawaii looks nice

  • Ive been round the world 3 times and New Zealand is the best place on earth.

  • Fuk the slow internet in this fuckin 3rd world shite.

  • NZ is not 3rd world.

  • fuck off wanker, new zealand isn't even a 3rd world country ya silly cunt

  • have you actually been there? It's great! I live in Wellington but love Australia

  • Beautiful. I love this commercial.

  • looks like a pretty place!

  • so mountains, right?

  • Sorry beg to differ. And please what are you 5?? To come up with terms like gayist? Grow up! Who cares which country is best. We are all the same! We all breath eat and shit! We just talk differently!

  • Ok mate. Are you gealous or just ignorant?

  • Man all I can say is...Jeezus...what kind of a tourist would fall for this kind of crap?? 16-17 year olds? Not the target market guys

  • I agree, simply awful marketing, cheese laden and ultra-cringe-inducing.

  • I also agree!

I think for NZ there is no need for marketing. This country must be beautiful! I will go there to see it myself. But I knew that before I saw this ad. :-)

  • beautiful nz

  • I went to New Zealand for my honeymoon, driving round the South Island. I'd like to apologise now to any New Zealanders who don't like tourists, as I've recommended the place to many, many people in the five years since I went. There's no other place in the world I'd rather have gone to, and I had the most wonderful time. If I had the chance to have my honeymoon again and go anywhere in the world, I'd still choose New Zealand.

  • isolated country !just good for visit not to live for immigrant.

  • I live in New Zealand too and you know what.. there ain't no place i'd rather be. perfection!

  • i live there

  • zealand rocks

  • if there was no fine in place, everyone would just keep bringing them in! if u were told not to u wouldnt really care and probarly do it again. and if u dont come to Australia or New zealand just cos of tht quarantine rule, yor a friken idiot. Its not a big deal anyway just dont bring a bannana.

  • Comment removed

  • If you got caught with 2 bananas, you're an idiot, because on all of the customs forms and on MASSIVE posters through every port and airport there are notifications about quarantine. And the customs officers are boasting about catching an idiot.

Both NZ and Australia grow fruit, and we don't want parasites found on other fruit coming into our countries, thanks. This, in part, has ensured that our exports didn't drop by 35% this year, like Turkey's did.

  • watching this ad makes me want to live in new Zealand....

    O WAIT

    i already do... YAY!

  • lucky...

  • whats an honesty box???

  • It's basically a box that you put money in to pay for whatever item you purchase from the stall. It's used mainly because whoever owns the stall is working and they trust that people wont steal them.

Its quite common in the NZ countryside.

  • Beautiful countryside. I was there twice. Lots of natural history. I would love to live there. A good place for distancerunning training..good air quality, good seafood, etc. :)

  • im not trying to put new zealand down or anything, but personally ive been to both australia and new zealand many times. im just trying to help if yor looking for an adventure, you should find Australia more exciting, thats my opinion. But hey New Zealand is still a great place!

  • Well that is not really true ; because Australia is so hot in the summer old people start to die . And& there may be lot 's of amusement parks which in my opinion are exactly the same and get a little boring ! but then they are so low on water supply that they can barely have ten minute showers ! NZ has the whole lot ; the sun, with nice fresh air, the greeness and the snow in one un-discovered unspoilt beautiful country ! But Australia is pretty cool too ! x

  • It's funny, I live in the middle of the US and when I see Kiwi culture on display like it is here, I think of my own back yard. We still have honesty boxes here. Doors are kept unlocked. Keys kept in cars, the whole lot.

We don't have the view of the mountains next to the sea, nor the east and west coast US tourists telling us how backwards we are here.

Thank God the Kiwis want 'em. And thank God the Kiwis aren't put off by fellow citizen's arrogance and self righteousness.

  • Yes i am from nz and nz is not a country known for safaris if you want that then go to africa

  • Did it get cold in here cos Im getting chills and goose bumps

  • Darn!!! That red head gal with her hand in the honesty box is hot!! and im gay!! lol. Whoo! Im coming to NZ in a week!! Cannot wait!! Congrats to the camera man behind this video! You did one hell of a job!!!

  • broo i toatlly agree wif you!

aussie and n.z are totally the best countries to live in ae :)

atleast you ahve anzac spirit :D

  • LOVE NZ !!!

  • I know so little about New Zealand, I heard so little about them, and my big travel plans do not include New Zealand. There is so many places to visit around Earth that I just hope to have time to visit this country as well. All I know about them is that you can feel all four seasons at the same time of the year. But about their people, their culture, how they look like (black or caucasians), nothing.

  • Culture is much the same as Australia. the Maori are native to this land. everyone speaks English and its a modern society but a very environmentally protected one

  • Sorry, I know you posted a while ago but NZ is a truly wonderful place to be! a home of about twenty-five world-famous birds. We have things from Beaches and fishing to Snowboarding and Hiking. It get's pretty hot in the summer but there's always that cool breeze that makes Summer much more comfortable. as for the culture? Well, New Zealand is very multi-cultural! They have Samoans and Indians and Japanese people and Americans all geting to know each other in one small wonderful country!

  • go NZ.

    love iit

  • W-O-W! What a magical place...leaves me speechless!

  • Comment removed

  • Umm i wasn't being sarcastic, i truly believe NZ to be a place of magic. I did not even mention the USA, its no comparison to NZ-never!

  • Comment removed

  • I was referring to the magic is can create within a person after witnessing such a pure and amazingly beautiful land-thats all. You should know there is such a difference as taking things literally and not--and you have done that with me referring to NZ as a land of magic. Why do criticize this land? and why pick on my comments--i'm only stating what i feel about NZ, these are MY opinions on the land, and i am entitled to post them without someone like you questioning them.

  • Comment removed

  • As the author of this video states-"Whether you want to leap out of your comfort zone or slide into a blissful state of tranquillity, New Zealand rejuvenates the mind, invigorates the body and enriches the soul like nowhere else on earth."-That is the magic i was referring to ;)

My apologies if i came across in a negative way.

  • Are you from NZ? If so what is the climate like? Does it get cold in August? Does it snow? Is it hot, humid or rainy season right now in NZ?

  • im from new zealand, its hot in the summer, all the leaves get brown and fall off all over the place in august, in winter it snows quite a bit in otago and Canterbury, although you wont get snow in much parts of the north island though, Thats why i live in the south island, definatly better than the north in my opinion.

  • I want to go to New Zealand so bad

  • It sounds like you have fall in august. I thought you would have cold winter in august since NZ is in the southern hemisphere. Northern US has cold winter in February.

  • yea it does get bloddy cold in Winter, i live in Chrirstchurch and it gets -10c in the mornings, and its even colder in dundedin or invercargill, but no sadly the north island does not get snow but the south gets plenty.

  • I see you still managed to show some American arrogance no matter what you are trying to say here. WOW! Way to go NEW ZEALAND!

  • Hey I'm sorry for making some of you people upset. I just don't want anyone to get carried away believing in earthly magic.

  • i live in auckand best contry in the world!!!

  • What band plays this song?

  • youth group- forever young

  • Its Milan Borich of Pluto singing the remake of Alphaville's song Forever Young

  • How did they send the song from Pluto to Earth?

  • I'm a kiwi myself but I find it weird they call it the "youngest country on earth" Surely Kosovo is the youngest country as it got it's independance only lastyear.

Unless they are talking the average age which would mean our life span is so short on average we are the youngest country ;)

  • theres a "making of" which explains that it was the last land mass to be discovered or something :D

  • Don't recommend staying in New Zealand.

    Why so you may ask?

The Europeans and Maoris are generally rude to outsiders, and shout things like 'Go back to your own country' or 'Stop making New Zealand a dump' to you.

There is nothing to do. Yes there are amazing sights (the ad really exaggerates them, by the way) but NOTHING to do, once you've gone skiing, bungee jumping, and rock climbing, you've done everything you can do.

I can't wait to get the hell out of here.

    I don't

  • wow its a shame to hear that's your experience but I can only imagine where you went in NZ to get that kind of treatment! Like any country, there are spots not to go to but having lived all over the world I can truly say its one of the most friendly places Iv ever been (and lived in)! And the scenery is just like this (especially in Queenstown..amazing)

  • Does anyone have this song as an Mp3? I can't find it anywhere.

  • youth group- forever young

  • yes, thats one of the people that sing it.

but its a different group that sings forever young in this commercial.

    who is it?

  • It's Pluto. Kiwi band

  • Where would i be able to find the mp3? :/

  • It snows in both Australia and New Zealand..

  • um who sings forever young in this commercial??

i know other people have, but this version is amazing!

  • Youth Group

  • .. there is snow? .. i go to the snowboard every winter theres like snow 8 months of the year .. it even shows snow it on the video..

  • actually GYMNASTICXBEAUTY i think by that video itself it proves there is snow in new Zealand lol, they were snowboarding lol...

Of course theres not everywhere... but ud have to go to Alaska or Antarctica to get that :O

  • Canada is nice too.

  • Youth Group has a really good version of the song "Forever Young"

  • I love this song!! can anyone tell me what band is it?

  • Its forever young, covered by nz band Pluto....,

  • i have wanted to go to new zeland since i was 4 years old. cant wait till i get my chance :)

  • this "forever young version" is from what band?

  • Pluto

  • Hehe that kid at 0:53 is cute~

  • So true!!

  • Here in Canada most people I talk to think this is a tourism commercial for British Columbia until you see the 100% NZ thing at the end. The two places look remarkably similar.

  • The original song, written by Marian Gold, was first performed by German synth band Alphaville(1982) re-released on the 1989 CD, Forever Young, picking up the uncertainty experienced by Gen X teenagers as they faced a world in danger of nuclear holocaust.

Youth Group recorded Forever Young for the third series of The OC, a music-saturated teen US television drama series, suddenly found themselves with an international hit, published around the world on The OC.

  • Tourism New Zealand presented New Zealand as Forever Young in a TV ad released in August 2007. The advertisement hit the news in NZ (see NZ Herald August 31) as the locals complained that the soundtrack used a song originally from Europe and made popular by an Australian group.

Forever Young is sung here by Milan Borich, lead singer of New Zealand band Pluto, recorded at Neil Finn Studios (Roundhead Studios).

  • Very informative, thank you.

  • I must get this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Freedom of speech is fine Mitchkid432, thats why you wont mind me calling you a tosser.

  • what's this song???

  • its by youth group called forever young

  • What happened to freedom of speech? This is not China

  • What a great advertisement for New Zealand and it's people. Tourism is an enourmous source of revenue for local businesses and a great way to bridge cultural and economic boundaries between nations. It is dissapointing to see comments posted by MitchKid432 discouraging "asians" to come to New Zealand. What a cop out. Just because a person is of Asian descent doesn't make them any better or any worse than non asian visitors. Put a backpack on fella and do some travelling. Learn and appreciate.

  • I agree 100% mate.

  • bahh bahh

  • Nice Video. Where were all the Maoris? There not just for tourism influences.

  • simple a beautiful country, thats all that needs to be said.

  • Im proud to be a New Zealander.

I definately think I come from a beautiful country and this isn't me just being ignorant.

I love many many other countries too; England, America, Singapore, India, sheesh there are a lot.

I'm just proud to call New Zealand home =]

  • Can I explain something to you. I am a New Zealand born Maori. I have travelled worldwide and currently work for the Public Service. I highlight this to you to help you understand I am not bias to either side of the debate.

Of course there are hypocrits and losers out there that want reperations for injustices. However for the genuine Maori, the want for our land back is not Moneytary. Its spiritual.

Unlike european culture land to us is our Wairua (Spirit). I guess thats the difference?

  • So just a quick question on the whole spiritual land thing? Why is it when you cant get the land back because it is occupied, if it is occupied by goverment land market rent is paid? because that is money with no spirtual value?

  • Thats a really fair question. However i cant speak for % of the population. But I can tell you that I say my previous comment on behalf of my family, and im sure, many other iwi. my family own approx 7kms of Lakefront along the Turang-Taupo Road (Primarily named Hallets Bay) if you travel this area you will see its untouched, and the only dwelling there is house from 1853. We have been approached by 2 international consortiums to lease this land, however our family have declined both of these.

  • The land is free for "anyone" to use. Yes we own it, but to the suprise of many international tourists that frequent the area, we do not "BAN" people from sharing in the beautiful area that Lake Taupo is (as is portrayed by mainstream media and society). I think if you look into it, there are alot more "Do Not Tresspass" signs on european owned land, than there is on iwi (with the exception of the extreme Urewera area). So yes, I still believe land is spiritual to maori and monetry to european.

  • what countries is this broadcaster to on tv? its not on nz =[ but then it wouldent make sence =p

  • Sheep + Velcro gloves = fun

  • Hahahaha.

  • The sheep are great in nz.

  • sheeps! :D
