Calvinism? How can a Calvinist claim to have any control or action in their salvation? I suggest you read Ephesians 1 and Romans 9&10 again. It's kind of like the sign above the gate of Heaven story...Outside it reads "All are Welcome"  Inside it reads "Welcome Chosen".

O.K. Don't know what Baptist Church he's been visiting but his message sounds like what I've been taught all of my life. I will admit some of the newer preachers who have their eyes set on growing their congregation size instead of God, do sugar coat everything to bring more people in and keep them there. I for one feel that if it doesn't feel like the Pastor has been following me around all week from the content of his sermon, that the message is not led by the Holy Spirit.

The Laodicean church needs to learn this and accept this or the wrath of the Lord shall be upon them, they then need to examine themselves to see if they are truly saved and I would say this would be a good time to get sackcloth and ashes for the church in America for to long has been such an embarrassment to a Holy God that repentance has been due for a good long time in fact I would hope that a true minister of Jesus Christ would go to Rome for they are in great need of the full truth.

@001001MJ What? He didn't even say that God is not love, nor did he say that it doesn't say that in scripture. He just said that Holy is the only attribute that is said three times, and in Hebrew when something is said three times it is magnifying it's importance. He is just trying to make a point that is true. God is Holy! Go take your thin skin somewhere else. You probably go around telling people not to judge you too, You just called a man of God a false prophet based on a false accusation.

@garretthenwood Thank YOU!!!! EXACTLY!!!!! Paul Washer was simply saying in this sermon that God is not to be played with and He's NOT like what almost ALL modern day evangelists describe Him to be. Paul was ALSO bringing out the raw truth of just how HOLY God IS flat out on the table. He wasn't sugar coating the message at ALL nor was he being wishy washy, he was flat out RAW TRUTH, and nothing but it. THAT'S how a TRUE Gospel PREACHER should preach.

Dont you all ever get tired of bickering about who is Calvinist and who is not. I never read any of Calvin's works but I can tell you that what Paul Washer is saying is exactly what is in the Bible. By the way he has a great sermon on the love of God; Look up Paul Washer on the Song of Songs or Songs of Solomon. The boldest and hardest preacher I have ever heard was the arminian John Wesley. Read the book Holy Spirit and Power and you probably wont even be able to finish it.

Paul Washer is not saying God is not love, just that many people who think they know God, don`t.People have created a God that is only love, a god who doesn`t judge people, get my point? The preachers whole point of this sermon is to get people for once in their life to see another side to God,HOLINESS not just His love..thats why he says 3 months of preaching on Gods holiness then he can preach on love.

All Calvinists believe they were hand-picked by God to 2B saved because He loved them & that He he actually hated the people He didnt hand-pick Just like the cultists, they think they have superior knowledge of God & His Word

Very few Calvinists hold evangelistic services & rare indeed are the Calvinists who engage n Personal Evangelism This is why Calvinism is a dangerous false teaching in the churches - it kills Christians' zeal for winning the lost 2 Jesus That is just what the devil wants

It would take a very long time to break down calvinist theology.... in this comment. so I won't. But I will share a verse that explains somewhat of the "Calvinistic" view on Theology

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God

That is an absolutely wrong representation of Calvinism. It is clear that you have a wrong view of Calvinist. I would strongly suggest that you study what a view believes and deeply check to see if it matches up with the Word and God and go to the Lord with Prayer before coming up with such a negative conclusion of other believers.

I am fine with us having different views on theology and we can discuss that in private because it would take forever to break down.

I highly recommend that none take your word or mine for total fact but that ALL take time to search the history of John Calvin on their own....in order to see how this particular cult and its teachings have managed to thrive to this day

You've been hanging out with the wrong Calvinists...I am very evangelical and very humbled by the Truth that is in Scripture. True reformed faith compels us to evangelize...Piper gets it right...he's a Calvinist of the first order and zealous to evangelize personally and corporately.

Calvinism does vary some claim they have a born again birth date and some claim they are working their way to salvation.

Clearly Salvation requires some action on the part of man ...working ones way to salvation is not one of them.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Thank you for posting this. Though I have major questions about some of Calvin's conclusions, Washer is without doubt anointed with an unction to awaken a dead church. God bless you and yours for posting such reviving messages.
