@VyckRo "The single cancer is atheism! and obviously you believe that Hitchens from a cloud he wil reply to your Toast? Correct?" - VyckRo, copy-pasting his drivel on multiple Hitch tribute videos
I'm glad to say I'm confident that you're no one's oncologist, as it's difficult to diagnose cancer without being able to distinguish what it is. Atheism is inherently naturalist, and naturalists don't anticipate conscious entities persisting postmortem. Ergo, your supposition is a fallacious one.
I have to completely disagree when it comes to his writing; it is absolutely worth your time. Letters to a Young Contrarian, for example, is very short and I'd recommend it to any Objectivist.
@qtutoringhelps "Mr Cropper, have you read GOD IS NOT GREAT?"
I've listened to it, as well as his memoir, Hitch-22, on audiobook. Admittedly, a great deal of the material in his books appears in his speeches and is amusing, but on the whole, his books are far less amusing than his speaking and debating occasions.
There could be an afterlife and no god. There could also be a god and no afterlife. Hitchens made this point in one of his debates. He added that there might be a god with a sense of humor who sends bad people to heaven. Theism alone doesn't have much to say about the afterlife. It's strange that "spritual" people continue to assume a rational connection there despite lack of belief in the scripture that makes that connection. And Hitchens is worth reading.
I would like to propose a toast to the United States of America who died today on Dec 16, 2012. It was an amazing country of freedom and justice that was based on one of the most amazing pieces of legislation ever written, the Constitution. It was a great country and it endured many years of corruption until it was slowly weathered away only until it was no more. With the passing of the National Defense Authorization Act we should pay respect to the passing of this great country.
Okay, so I find it somewhat annoying that you say his works aren't worth reading but don't give any reasons why you feel this way, other than saying you disagree with him, which isn't a reason at all, unless you really are so arrogant as to deem anything you disagree with unworthy of consideration. So if you could, please give me and your viewers some legitimate rationale.
Thank you for making this video. Mr. Hitchens is dead, but his work will live on. I'll drink some apple juice tonight in his name. Rest in Peace, Christopher.
MrCropper, it is a relief seeing a new video from you, though the video was inspired by something as unfortunate as Mr. Hitchens's passing. Do you plan on coming out of YouTube retirement, or was this a onetime thing for Mr. Hitchens?
I met Mr. Hitchens once after a debate with Dinesh D'souza. He was an amicable and intelligent person. I always got the sense that the things he was wrong about were an honest wrong, not an evasive one. He will be missed.
And
Who knows, maybe Hitchens from a cloud he wil reply to your Toast, and say thanks!!

Mr Cropper, have you read GOD IS NOT GREAT? I just finished the 1st chapter this minute. I find it as amusing as any of Hitchen's spoken talks.

They are boring and far, FAR less entertaining than his speeches and debates. Other than that, read away.
