im 22, the sooner we watch this, the better :) very beautiful, there's few like us who can make the difference, I agree, comunication and honesty is the key ... and it's way more awesome to realize about how great you want your love to be that we come here searching for better ways to love ...thats right, starting by us.
Thank you for making the film because it really is spot on. We as the society have neglected the essence of love when it comes to long term commitment to the person you love. It has opened my eyes to such a beautiful domain of love. Ultimately, love is not a self-gratification "feeling", it is manifested by serving another person and be honest and open, no matter what. This has helped me with my relationship, much appreciated and I hope this video would be spread to more people!

@ 17:00, yes keep the grandparents with the grandkids! my grandma stayed with us and have many cousins, having extended family really makes it more homely
Great documentary, beautifully presented and great to know how it started by wanting to record his grand parents, they are lovely. Its wonderful more and more people are creating expressions of love to unite us at this time through awareness and unity. Thanks guys
This is by far my favorite video. I've watched this multiple times and it never gets old. I share this video with my friends whenever I can. Congratulations on such a wonderful movie and thank you.
Any plans for a future movie? Would be interesting to see a documentary of this quality comparing the qualities of love between older generations and the new generation, particularly among college students--single, married, or romantically involved.
Thank you so much for this. I just couldn't help myself from crying. Even if a lot of people find this documentary bland, i find it extremely moving and i think i understand what you are trying to say. I couldn't add up any commentaries because you pretty much showed me what i've been dying to search for a long time. If fate brought me here, I am thankful because i got one hour of learning from what you made more than a year. I wish you all the best in your married life, Thank you so much. :)
1:10:18 The most beautiful part of this movie, when he expresses to his wife his the 'flame' he see's surging from her and the look of total love and vulnerability that showers over her eyes when he says it. Brings tears to the eyes.
Staying together has never been a problem in India.

Thank you so much for this video, I adore it... I used to share true love with my best friend... She was murdered just recently and there's a massive part of me missing but I'm happy to have felt love in my life like what I had, I really wanted to show her this video, it's a shame I didn't do so in time.
I really wanna thank you for this incredibly beautiful and moving film. I have never seen such a great and authentic movie in my life (though I'm only 18). Your grandparents are great :) Thanks for sharing this wonderful project. Spread the love! ;)
This video really had came to me at the very right time... thanks for the video and it not only make me cried but more importantly it made all clear to me what will I need to do next.... Guess it's faith that brings me here... a beautiful video it is... much thanks again...
What a beautiful video. Grandma's stages are right on. Going on 25 years after dating for 6 years and I can agree with so very much of this. Commitment is hard. Takes a lot of work. Although you love each other you are not always "in love" with each. That comes and goes throughout your relationship. Being "in love" is constantly redefined as our relationships grow and change through all the stages. Thank u so much for sharing this.
My husband & I watched this film when he typed 'Love' into the search bar out of curiosity. We both loved it. Thank you so much for making such a beautiful, intelligent & inspirational film about love. We were moved to tears.
The cross-section of people interviewed was really fascinating. I would have loved to have seen some gay & lesbian relationships included too
The way the relationship of the grandparents moved the film-maker to create this, gave the film a wonderful integrity & sincerity.
Amazing video! I stumbled across this tonight on one of my video adventures! So very glad the spirit leads as it does. Thank you for sharing this. I have cried / laughed and learned so much! Love : Light : Endless Joyful Adventures! deZengo
I'm only 17 and I watched it. See, I have not yet experienced REAL love.. Yes, I've felt in love, but not a real love. And this movie made me think about a lot of stuff and it made me learn...
well that video reminded me that love is ment for whole life. I saw these people here who actually r happily together. I've never even dreamed about such good releationship. I've never thought that i could really have a releationship where I have such suport and understanding. i do believe that every person needs to find his/her other half, but i have no examples in my life. i don't know anybody who have had such independent love.

Had been married for about 11 years. My lessons of love: learn to forgive, communicate, love yourself, love the other JUST AS HE/SHE IS without trying to change, what you see is what you get, grow in love together, be honest about everything (especially money), be a saver not a spender (in everything), don't take things for granted, no blame game, do in agreement everything and yes you can have true love that only God gives you as you build a strong GODLY foundation.
Everyone who wishes and wants to be loved and to love should see this video.
I have been married over 25 years and I could not have explained the change that comes to those who weather the storms of a relationship and STAY.
To be commited through all trials is so very hard but knowing that it can be done can make the difference. Thank you to those who opened their hearts and appeared in this production. I shared it with my children because i want true lasting love for them as well.
Thank you for this! Such an inspiration! Truly truly. I would love to know how the couples are doing. I also would have loved to see more diversity. I truly appreciate your grandparent's story. Truly.
i am working hard so that my kids and my grand childs one day would say : look at them.. they made it...........Canadian and been married since 25 years... and yes like the lady in the video says... every stage is different........ and every stage got its taste......... all is about compassion.... communication....forgiveness........ team work...... .
There's a girl out there. Her nickname from me is "My Pearl" cause she is such a gem. I still love you. And, I'm so sorry that I allowed the drama in my life to end our relationship. But you're married to some one else now. I just wish you well.
As a relationship coach in Los Angeles I am happy to have this video as a resource for hope and inspiration. It can appear pretty bleak at time out there.
This documentary is absolutely wonderful. I so want everyone in the world to view this. I believe that couples wanting to marry or people dating should find this enlightening enough to come to the realization that comittment is truly freedom!
I haven't been in a very long relationship and I have only been in one but it didn't really last that long..
I really liked this documentary..I learned much about love and relationships through this video..It makes me happy to know that even though times have changed..the world is still full of lovers and seeing the love people in this video possess..I think its going to stay that way forever :)
I looked up love in the search bar, just out of curiosity, and was very pleased to find this video. It reminds me so much of the guy I have fallen in love with, and really gives me hope about our future and what we could potentially be. People say teenagers are young and they don't understand but it's a common misconception. I first said I love you when I was 14 years old. But now I'm 16, and I feel like I'm falling more and more in love with him everyday. This was beautiful and very touching.
Thank you, this is absolutely powerful and moving. It seems we all want to have that lasting love, to share a life with someone for 68 years- yet what paths do we take to do this, what choices do we make that gets in the way and how do we change. That really is the question, "How will we love". This seems like a great steeping stone to dive deeper into the question of love and relationships, and I would love to see more of this and be involved in such an endeavor.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ "to prove love is not about how long you’ve been together or how close or happy you were, it is in how many times you argue and reconcile, and found differences but still choose to be with each other.."Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ
this is without a doubt one of the saddest yet hopeful movies i have ever seen. i had so many questions and doubts about relationships and this movie just made everything make sense. thank you so much.
reall made me cry and touched my heart. it gave me a deeperunderstanding. i didn't used to trust in everlasting love. now i know there is such thing on earth. sadly its hard to find....
This puts things in an entirely new perspective.... And im just 17.... At least i have an idea of what to look out for up ahead and be able to handle it...
When it gets really bad , that's when it's about to change .And most people leave when it's really bad.So they never get to the change. And i think that's such a tragedy . This is the greatest thing said in this documentary.
This movie was assigned to watch for a college class. It really hits home, I've been through 2 divorces, I live alone with my son now, and I am still trying to learn who I am. I'm having a hard time opening myself up to anyone else, but this movie gives hope. I believe communication and acceptance are two things that couples must have to succeed, but unfortunately they are overlooked too often. I may stay single for ever, scars can be deep, but I have to believe there may still be a woman for me
This was amazing. I believe that everyone should watch this movie and i plan on showing it to everyone that i can. This was truly one of the most insightful things i have seen in a very long time. I'm 19 and still looking for the right girl.
Hi there, My name is Brittani I am a high school student who is very instrested in making a documentary of my own in Love. I really do like your work and i jus want to know do you have any tips or anything. I do not know what I am about to get myself into but it just seem like something that i feel would be something great and challaging to do. Please write back. Inspired Movie maker
I stumbled upon this video, and noticed it's more than an hour long. I don't usually watch videos that long, but something drew me to watch it, and I couldn't believe how beautiful it is. To watch and hear people talking about their relationships, and what makes them so close to each other was just, in the lack of a better word, amazing. Thank you for sharing this with people around the world. I hope we all find love like your grandparents did. Best wishes from Croatia :)
This made me cry, I'm so fourunate to have watched this right now while I was questioning the relationship that I have now with my boyfriend. Relationships really take a lot of effort, and I am so hopeful that now after watching this that I am with the right person and what were going through is not only vital, but nessesary fo us so grow :)
Beautiful film I gonna play it to my boyfriend, young folks like me really need this kind of information on our lives!
a friend of mine that is going through a really tough situation actually passed this movie to me. i was really impressed by how the maker of the movie touched upon all aspects of love, the negative and the positive. thank you for making this film as i'm sure it opened the eyes and hearts of many people, myself included.
"You stay when it's the worst, because it's when it gets really bad that's when it's going to change, but that's when most people leave. So they never get to the change. Go into a relationship and shut the gate, and say to yourself, 'I'm going to hang in here until we are each others healer"
I want to thank you for placing this on youtube, this is something that I have not seen in a really long time.
You have given such a rare gift to us all in the world. I'm from Australia and I have only seen one couple (not my parents) as a wonderful example of love and your grand parents are such a role model.
Thank you for what you have shared with us all.
I want you to know that this is something that really matters to me and you have made an everylasting impression
tears didn't stop when watching this, i think i finally found some hope and excitement. things i thought were cliche now seem so real and just right and good.
This was the most inspiring films i have seen in the longest time. I am baffeled by the amount of love and care these couples share for each other and i truly hope that some day i am able to find love like this and be able to share my story like these individuals did. Simply beautiful.
"Living, loving, having arguments and making up. ..."
"A relationship is a mirror in which we see ourselves. ... When you choose a partner some think this is the perfect person and I'm at the peak of my love ... not at all ... this person has come to teach you what it means to love."
our current world is based on "products". our culture does no accept the "things" we have change. love changes and evolves, it is an evolution path. love lasts forever, if we are able to walk the path. having someone, a special one to walk the path is a gift life gives us. today very few can see that and prefer to think love is just a "thing" we can dispose when difficulties come up. "in good times and in bad times" is not just a commitment, it is the chance love gives us to be better.
Simply blewn away....We live in a disposable culture...Instead of working or solving the problem, we tend to walk away and start with a new one...and we wonder why the new one does not work either...THANKS CHRIS! YOUR THE BEST!
Wow, I am amaze that these people took the courage to put these stories out in the open, finally there is something on YouTube that is positive. What I mean is, this is something about us, people, society, the world, etc. You get my drift??? Mr Harville and his wife our truly generous and yes, Geniuses, like someone wrote on this page. Thank you for making me write again. There should be more films, videos, pics, etc. online that can truly teach you about life.
me and my boyfriend just saw this movieand we were greatly impacted by it. this movie is really inspirational and motivated me and my boyfriend to have a better relationship.
We have been married 53 years and had adjusted to the ups and downs. Then we saw Harville Hendrix on public tv and realized that there was an amazing tool that he was teaching in his workshops that we wanted to learn called the couples dialogue. that was 14 years ago, and our relationship has deepened in ways I never realized could happen.
Harville Hendrix and his wife are geniuses. His book, "Getting the Love You Want" explains this Couples Dialogue as mentioned above. This book changed my life because it helped me to understand why I chose my husband, why we interacted the way we did, and how we could navigate the rough seas with more compassion and a better understanding of ourselves, and each other. If you're married and are experiencing conflict or detachment, this book and Harville's workshops may help save your marriage!
What a fantastic film. To really see love for what it is, and not what you want it to be is sobering at the least, yet exciting! U will never konw you are in it until you are down the road. I am so excited to walk this journey...
Simply beautiful...5 stars....I am thinking of my boyfriend right now who is across the seas in the army.....this was wonderful...Love is wonderful, the best, and I am in love with love
truly amazing. THis has helped me. Like i am a teen right now, but i almost felt like love was just something found in books and movies. Thank you for this :)
im 22, the sooner we watch this, the better :) very beautiful, there's few like us who can make the difference, I agree, comunication and honesty is the key ... and it's way more awesome to realize about how great you want your love to be that we come here searching for better ways to love ...thats right, starting by us.

This reminded me of a quote
Fear can keep us up all night long, but faith makes one fine pillow.
I use it in my IM name by the way.
Great documantairy, altrough i did not learn anything, im young and life could take the wrong turn and i might think:
"It was wrong from me to think i knew everyting
We will see where it goes.

Thank you

our current world is based on "products". our culture does no accept the "things" we have change. love changes and evolves, it is an evolution path. love lasts forever, if we are able to walk the path. having someone, a special one to walk the path is a gift life gives us. today very few can see that and prefer to think love is just a "thing" we can dispose when difficulties come up.

Sixty-eight years of marriage! That is awesome. Now a days, you don't hear about a marriage lasting that long unfortunately.
JPPT1974 2 years ago 6
We have been married 53 years and had adjusted to the ups and downs. Then we saw Harville Hendrix on public tv and realized that there was an amazing tool that he was teaching in his workshops that we wanted to learn called the couples dialogue. that was 14 years ago, and our relationship has deepened in ways I never realized could happen.
bbbergquist 2 years ago 7
Harville Hendrix and his wife are geniuses. His book, "Getting the Love You Want" explains this Couples Dialogue as mentioned above. This book changed my life because it helped me to understand why I chose my husband, why we interacted the way we did, and how we could navigate the rough seas with more compassion and a better understanding of ourselves, and each other. If you're married and are experiencing conflict or detachment, this book and Harville's workshops may help save your marriage!
