I always imagined the mountains to be floating because of a conflicting magnetic force between Pandora and the mountains that repel each other. Just to give it more sense of realism instead of just floating ass mountains that defy the physics of everything else on that planet. Thats not realistic to me

@Zares28 Well, that's actually the explaination given in the film, so you're spot on. Unobtainium acts as a superconductor, and areas that contained large amounts of Unobtainium with a conflicting magnetic polarization to the surrounding areas would eventually rip enormous pieces of rocks from the planet, and keep them floating. It's a stretch, but an explaination is at least given.

This was a really beautiful scene. The whole world of Pandora makes me wish there were a place like it that I could see. The lumination on the plants in some of the night scenes...breath taking! I saw the movie in theaters bought the first release of the dvd and the collecters 3 hour dvd set.

@job87meh If you have media player, click on that thing that say "download this video" on the top right corner of the video. Once its finished downloading click convert and make sure before you click start, you change it to "convert to mp3, sound only" Thats how I got more than half of my songs.
