Credit Consolidation A Warning and How To Do It Yourself

My mother had a bad habit of overspending on her credit cards, so she went into credit consolidation. After getting screwed over financially by two different companies that work in CC, she finally started dealing with them herself. She's almost out of debt after 3 years.

Excellent example. can you tell what these companies did?

The second company was getting payed, so she had to write a huge check each month and their was one credit card company that wouldn't negotiate with the CC that we switched over to and ended up quadrupling the amount owed with late fees, interest, and and overcharge fees because the CC wouldn't pay them for a year. After that we just went solo.
