The projectile the pilum shoots goes straight forward in the direction you shot it (but it depends on stance, if you're zoomed etc. etc. blah blah). Aim for the weak spots on vehicles. Killing people with it? Only shoots people who run straight forward or are standing/lying still, 'cause it has to hit the body.
