Based on the level of expertise, experience, personality, etc. on the part of the school and instructors, it's debatable who would be the "best" for any given individual. It is indisputable however, that Mid Island prices are some of the highest to be found anywhere in the USA.

@airste172, You get what you pay for in life. Mid Island has the best maintained fleet of aircraft anywhere on LI. Many a pilot can attest to that. We have two airline A&P's that only maintain our school planes. Some of the reasons we've been around for 65 years is our safety record and experience. We also have plenty of specials to lower the cost of rentals and offer a lot of amenities including free FAA Safety seminars every month and a free car at Groton CT for all our renters to use.

@MidIslandFlight It might be more accurate to say that you seldom get what you don't pay for and more often, what you pay for isn't what you always get. Happily however, I have no cause to make any such accusation about Mid Island. Though pricey, I've come to regard Mid Island to be among the most reputable of flight schools, not only on LI, but anywhere!

Keep up the good work guys and maybe one of these days I'll be able to afford some of your services. ;)
